Women and porn
 

I read somewhere that women account for a very small fraction of porn sales. Do you think porn is not marketed properly to women?... or perhaps there's something biological that makes them less stimulated by porn. I've heard a few women say something along the links "why watch it when you can DO it...?"

I do wonder if there is a potential untapped market out there. How do you think one would go about selling porn to women?

I sell very, very , very little porn for women.

I've also never built even one promotional piece for women's porn and pretty much ignore this niche.

I get a few sales here and there from my for woman categories on my LL and TGP and all of them have been through Purple Dollars so another vote for Purple Dollars.

Most of my female friends aren't into porn but I do have a few that are. My straight friends seem to think Purple Dollars has something to offer them. My lesbian friends say there isn't anything out there other then the two chicks doing it for a man's enjoyment sites which doesn't really work for a gay woman.

Being a woman myself you would think I would have a better insight into porn for woman but the truth is porn bores me to death.

I think porn in general is mostly done by and for men. As a girl Ive never been really estimulated by average porn, most of the shots are filming the girl itself like the male actor is just a thing and the less its shown the better. And of course girls rather see a dick than pussy and tits all the time. So I would never pay to see that kind of porn that happens to be the majority. Of course there are the "porn for women" sites, but the few ones I visited didnt appeal to me, I dont know the reason but they looked kinda fake to me, like the people who did it didnt really know what they were doing... but I reapeat, Ive seen just a few sites of that kind. Porn for woman is an open market that can be exploited for sure

We have 40,000+ members of which roughly 20% are women. I know alot of these women are straight and they do like porn. Some of our most loyal visitors are women. Warrior, throw your PD affiliate link up and we will send some traffic there.

I think porn for women is an absolutely huge market that needs product.

So what would women like? I am assuming that it would have to be softcore with more text than a site built for men would be.

I think Purple Dollars has what most women want (just my opinion) They have phots sets that are more sensual than most sites with a lot of touching, foreplay, intimacy and an emphasis on her pleasure. Some women like a face full of cum but most don't so you won't find much of that there. They also have solo male sets for the ladies that just want to look at hunks. I don't think I ever "knew" a woman that truly enjoyed porn. Most seem to be of the mind of taking it or leaving it.

I am doing pretty good with illustrated stories from Adult Master Cash with female surfers. It seems to have a female WM, and the stories(sorta of romance) are from the female POV.

That's been my experience, too. Trying to figure out what turns women on has sorta of been the story of my life...but that's another story. At any rate, I want to add add a women's section to my site. Just curious, how do you know if it's women or men who are buying?

I agree, I don´t even notice that I am looking at porn the whole days anymore. It is more about lightning, camera angles, color correction, quality etc. I could like as well be retouching photos of cars. Don´t guys get that feeling????? 12 hours a day looking at porn, don´t you get bored???

My wife doesn't go looking for porn (as far as I know), but she does enjoy a good old fashioned porn movie in which a babe is getting screwed by a guy or three. And when you look like me, and have a personality like mine, you need all the help you can get.

I used to love porn. I think I am overexposed to it by far by now, but from what I hear, this happens to male adult webmasters as well, right? Don't you guys get tired of staring at flesh all day long? Anyway, I am still very appreciative when seeing an extra hot hunk in a set, but I confess, the other kind of porn bores me these days.

For what it's worth, back in the time when I was just a surfer, I did buy a couple of porn passes. What appealed to me was porn with a story line, but definitely not the "for women" respectable kind ;) I like the stories to be down and dirty, with dominant males and preferably some nice mouthfucking and/or other forms of rough sex. I think a lot of the problem for women is things not being equal in porn. You watch a movie and the guy gets a blowjob for thirty minutes and the girl gets very little oral if any. He always gets off and it seems like in most porn the girl never does.

Now that I look at it all the time the thought of watching a porn movie at night makes me want to puke....:D Before I started doing this, the porn I always searched for was kinky stuff. I don't think I'm alone either as I looked at the unusual stuff to get ideas, and maybe see something I hadn't tried yet.
