I expected a tad better conversion with videos, but as it stands 1:375

Burned through 4 GIGS BW to get there though. And most people did not click on all movies.

I'm sorta torn between using vids or not for my next set of sites...

Thanks to those that held my hand through the 1st site.

I learned a bunch of stuff and feel I can tweak the next sites for better CTR.

And title it so that what people see and what the sponsor offers is as much in line with the LL title / description as possible.

So, I guess this stuff works if you put effort into it.

Ok then. I'll go with pics and really try to get the best CTR to the sponsor.

Doesn't make sense to do movie sites when I'm sorta strapped and keeping an eye on my BW all the time.

And, pictures almost always work better.

When I first started, I submitted one TGP gallery and managed one sale of penis pills while burning no less than 100gigs of bw. And that was a pic gallery. It was hosted on a 25G/month virtual account. That was three years ago and bw cost me $3.5 per gig for overage.

Yeah, that's the downside to movie free sites - bandwidth bills :(

But look at it this way - $30 for the sale - $4 for bandwidth = $24 profit :)

Definitely practice with pics sites. I still almost always only do pics. Cheaper, easier, conversions are just as good, you can experiment with sales concepts without risk.

I read a Reuters article recently tho that said that the US had recently passed the halfway point - half of american homes now have high speed access. I had been thinking we were still at about 65% dialup 35% hispeed.

I always thought that the halfway point would be a critical time for marketing porn with sample movie clips.

Congrats! It's harder now than it used to be to make a couple-three-four thousand juicy $35 sales a year, but it's still a great business.

Never thought in terms of BW cost vs income. Plan I'm on has me at $1.20 per gig. So...$4.80 in BW and $35 payout leaves $30.15 in profit.

Actually, i like to think of it as paying for the hosting and then some with 1 sale.

I don't know any different since I just started. Like 3 years ago free sites and galleries converted a lot more...or there was just a lot less competition? Both I guess...

$35 for sign up - $4 for bandwidth = $31 profit

Let me check my work:
31 + 4 = 35

Yup - that one's right :D

Now, I know this site took a long time to build & tweak & whatnot, but once you get the process down, you can crank out a really good free site in about an hour or so. $31/hour is a nice wage :D

Here's hoping this is the first of thousands and thousands more, AW. :)

I'm a slow builder as I build everything by hand, I only have index.html template that has warning and 2257 statement text ready (without photo set data of course) and it usually take me some 2 hours. After that I put recips in place and post my site.

I have never built video site, only pic sites. I have fast ADSL connection and I have tested many paysites short video clips and even 1 minute clips sometimes still get long time to load. Of course I'm here in Finland and clips are far away.

Building a free site is not so easy as some webmasters may think. You must have recips in warning page, so that easily gets you building them more or less lookalikes. I try to avoid that making graphics: logo, enter link, gallery links, back link, all are graphics. I also try to use different bgs than black and white, althought sometimes they are best to use. And, I try to find new layouts and designs. I also often use same colors that paysite I promote have. Sometimes I use colors the picture set I use have. Sometime I use colors that are common to theme, like pink for lesbian, dark orange for Asian etc.

This far it has work well, of course I have got rejections too, but most LLs have listed them.

As Cleo said build at least 1000 free sites. Think about it: if you're lucky and every site makes 1 sign-up per month, you got 1000 of them. Let's say average pay is $15 - if you use both PPS and recurring - you made 15,000. Of course in real life not every site make that sign-up but income will still be good.

It just takes some time to build them, but that's our job.

Congrats on the sale. The best thing is it sounds like you're really learning as you go along. That's what makes you stick around, and make it in this business!

The great thing about free sites with pictures (that go with videos that are on the sponsor's site) is that you can promote the videos thru your links. like: "If you like these pictures of amateur Kim then you're going to love her Hardcore videos!" or what ever.

I logged into the sponsor to grab some promo stuff for the site I'm building today and discovered I made another sale.

Now that site is hitting penisbot and wetplace as the traffic from most other lists has died down a week later...that's sorta cool.

Do people notice a spike in sales over weekends- in general?

I haven't tracked in on a regular basis for a year or so, but when I did, I usually noticed an increase in sales (as well as a decrease in traffic) on the weekends.

I guess some people are lonely :)

I had never noticed it, but just checked stats remote (which shows your day of week averages back to jan 2003) and it appears like GG suggested, my traffic is slightly lower on weekends.. and sales, particularly on Saturdays slightly higher on average.

Wednesday seems to be my standout day for traffic and sales... and Tuesdays appear the worst historically for what it's worth.


And congrats on your success Alphawolf.. :) also your timing is good to be getting started seriously right now too imho.. we are just about to enter the time of year I seem to always do best in, late September to January.
