How many recips per freesite?
 

Ok maybe Im putting this in the wrong section but since alot of the LL owners are here I thought this would be the best catagory for this thread.

To all LL owners: How many other recip banner do you guys like to see on each free site?

In your opinions what would be the maximum recips for other LLs on each index?

I would say about 6-10 is a good numbre.
5 is too few, and 12 looks just a bit too much.
Personally, I put 8-9 on each recip table and most folks seems to accept it :)

I've never had a problem with 12. Besides, it creates a really nice hub where traffic gets exchanged freely, and that helps out everyone! :)

As long as you abide by the respective rules of each LL, you really can't go wrong.

(I've seen some warning pages with as few as 3 recips and as many as 24...)

I've been using 12 for the most part.

Just do your best to make all the recips "fit" on the page - nothing is worse than a page of recips that look like their positions were determined by throwing darts at the monotor :D

I like to see 6-12.

12 is cool. At least 5 though.

6 at least. I would suggest 12 cause it helps SE positions IMO

I use 18-24.

I've been thinking of sorting them a tad better.

I like to see at least 6 and up to 12. IMO more than 12 starts looking like a banner farm.

You can do more than 10-12.

I've never done less than 18 and haven't gotten rejected yet. I even ventured out to 21 recips adding 3 I didn't usually submit to after I saw they ranked well on Google for terms peeps would use to find my site.

They accepted the 21 recip site from me as a 1st time submitter no probs.

So long as the recips are clean and well laid out I don't think many folks have probs with more than 12.

edit: If ya notice from that thread I was worried about using more at first too. But no probs to date with 15 sites submitted with 18 or more recips.

Just to kinda update this a little. I have submitted 2 sites using 16 recips and have been accepted pretty good everywhere.

Only one reviewer has noticed so far and he did accept my site, but made a note in the email that I was using too many recips.

Im using banners or text boxes not text links.

I like using 16 but Ill probably trim it back to 12 or so just to be on the safe side.

just a thought...I think I am losing surfers somewhere & wondered if having fewer link lists on the index pg would help, I'm trying it with 6 to see what happens...

the thought being that as a surfer I use the link list recips at sites alot & if there were less, would I lose less surfers at the index pg?

on the other hand, should the se positioning from more links make a bigger difference? I haven't had enough time to determine anything about se ranking yet.

maybe it's just a crapshoot anyway lol

any thoughts?

Having less (say 6) will just allow a surfer to more easily key in on any of the 6 recips ads.

I know with a block of 18 I managed 10%-15% CTR usually towards the 15% more than the 10%.

You could always try fewer and see. But guessing won't help. You would need to look at your stats and the sponsor's stats.

I doubt if you're losing traffic to your recips unless it's hard to find your Enter button. Nearly everyone is going to go past those to see what you've got on your site, right? That's why they came there. I've seen a lot of script-generated sites where the Enter button is almost invisible, though, due to the color combinations the script generated randomly. A lot of traffic to pages like that probably leaves through the recips.

Good points...I must say I do like the look of a well crafted table that holds 10-12 links...I also thought they would be more attractive to LLs because I try to get a good mix of larger & smaller LLs on each recip table, trying to get a good flow of traffic to everyone.

my sites are fairly new so maybe I just have to wait & keep analyzing the stats....

I think unless it's like the first free site the person ever saw, they know to skip past those recips to get to ENTER.

Though, I'm sure every now and again the recips will catch someone's eye.

8-10 is my number. find it fair to the LL's and easy to fit to any lay out.

why? dont know but i have never put more than 8 in my freesites career :)
every time i build a site i want to make everything clean, so maybe thats why ;)

I can relate to that...you get a certain way of doing things & don't want to "jynx" yourself lolol...I tried 6 & didn't like it going back to 10 feels comfy. I'm also pretty retentive about how things look on my sites so...

I prefer to see sites submitted to my LL to have no more then 12 recips on the index page. If you can design a site to squeeze in 20 recips, its cool... but if its all out of sequence and looks like someone just discovered HTML then its just no use....

When i make freesites, i just put 9...

Ive been going with 9 for the last month or so.

I dunno why I settled on 9, maybe once I got the hang of building freesites, it didnt seem like such a pain anymore to make a few extra pages.

I guess it just looks right to me after all and now that the tables are built I dont want to change.
