Still no go, even thru a proxy. Odd. I fill out form, hit submit, get no reply from the server. Hope it clears up soon :(

I have just completed a fairly large amateur site at www.amateurs-ecstasy.com and have, over the past 24 hours, been attempting to submit it to Link-O-Rama and am getting a DNS error after submitting the detail. Is that site not accepting new submissions or is there another issue going on such as a subtle way to tell me to buggar off.

This is an old problem that seems to have resurfaced (or never went completely away)

Let me get with NatNet to see what we can do :)

Nat Net has tweaked a couple things for me - let me know if your submits get thru :)

It is still coming up DNS - let me clear my cache and reboot. Maybe it is fixed at your end and I am working through a cached doc. I will let you know

I have cleared the cache and rebooted and it is still coming up DNS.
When I tried a second time yesterday, I got a 505 error message. It might be helpful information for your host to track down the problem.

I would to test it because I was one of those people that had the problem a few months ago. Just haven't got anything to submit at the moment :)

Link-O-Rama is still coming up as a DNS after submitting the detail. Most frustrating since I followed its guidelines closely when building www.amateurs-ecstasy.com oh well, shit happens |pcsucks|

I tried a few tests (hope that don't get me bl'd). It does recognize an already listed site and respond as such, also recognizes a bad link and responds. But a new url/site, it comes back with the DNS error. Like it times out or ?

Seem to be having the same issue with SmutGremlins submit, if that helps.

BrianXXX - what's the URL of the site you're trying to submit (NatNet will need that)

I tried again, and it went thru! Now, I suppose I will have to make another site on that domain and try again. If you need testing, just holler, I'm happy to help anytime.

How do I contact Smutgremlins? Same issue there....

"From your server, I get good traceroutes and ping results to this domain, and can host lookup for it in less than one second."

BrianXXX - I'll let them know - they are looking into a coule things, one is how current the dns info is on everyone's servers.

It's gonna end up being a very stupid problem, we just have to find it :)

I tried resubmitting the same site over a few days, it did eventually go thru. Seems like something just times out.

FWIW, I submitted a site this evening thinking of this thread and the submit went though more quickly than I recall.

We know it has something to do with the time it takes to get from my server to yours to "check" the site, but where the problem occurs, we have no idea.

It has to be some sort of strange router issue or maybe even peak traffic times or something uncontrollable like that.

They have the time out timer set to 90 seconds & they do not recomend going any higher than that, so that's not an option :(

But, like I said, they are still working on it :)
