Hosting? - ? prize hosting always runs out :(
A site tour? - ? only good if you have a paysite or shitloads of content?
A script? - hmm usually a valuable item
A script install and mod?
Increase partnership %?

Got any other ideas of solid, 'ever-lasting' prizes? please post them.

I(and a friend) have an idea for a fun contest... which we will tell you all about when we work out what the prizes can/will be...

Like you said, content is always nice. I also think the idea of having a site tour designed is swank, but I've always had a bit of penis envy when it comes to people who own paysites.

I could use my house cleaned.

I ended up owning a LL after I won a LL script.

A year's supply of |potleaf| would be great. :D

I love the idea of prizes being something not normally easily obtained. Submit passes are a great idea, since they offer the winner a sense of importance, and there's no out of pocket expense for the donor.

Prizes like hosting involve too much trouble to collect :-(

You could figure out a few things you are comfortable with offering as prizes, then let the winner pick from them. That way they get what is appropriate/most wanted by them at that stage in their career.

As a newbe I would pick content or as other say submit pass.

Hosting and design wouldn't be of much use to me, but I'd love (in no particular order):

DD Submit Pass Would ROCK!
Content with full docs just in case
Scripts could be cool, depending on the script (I already have a LL script, for example)
Traffic is always nice
Cat page link trades with DD & Jurbi (temporary or permanent)
Consultation with those "in the know" is a fantastic idea, and could be worth its weight in gold.



I would like to take a minute to say that contests just for the hell of it are really cool, and I'd love to see some show up on this board. I'd have one myself if I had anything of real value to offer as a prize |rasta|

let me suggest a few that are not expensive at all

external hard drives ($100 for 80 gig... always great to use as a 'work' drive)

thermaltake keyboard/mouse combo ($35 ... just pure neato)

pc/tv card ($100 for trouble free one ... great for that second monitor)

A paid round trip plane ride to DD house to hang with one bad ass hard nose aussie..

Everybody loves traffic, but the submit pass or better link placement is kind of tough. Just because you win a contest doesn't mean you can design a good free site. ;)

I was gonna say one prize that'd be really cool, but then I remember that I need to be a nicer person & not make really bad jokes :D

I think most poeople would like most prizes, but you're always gonna find things that people don't really need OR winning the prize causes unwanted problems - like hosting is a really cool prize in theory, but I wouldn't want to win it because I am very comfortable with Nat Net :)

A link list script would be a cool prize, unless you had no plans on starting a link list :)

A tour and banners & graphics would be cool, unless you had no pay site to use it on.

I could go on & on & shoot down pretty much every prize anyone could think of :D

But, I will say that any prize that's given away at someone elses expense is pretty much a nice thing to do & odds are, someone will be able to use it :)
