Anyone else having a suck week?

...or is it just me?

I did much better while away on vacation and not submitting any new sites. LOL.

:)

I'm mired in other projects, so yes, I'm having a suck week. My problem is, once I skip building for a couple of days, I find it very difficult to get back in the groove. And we all know how important the groove is.

kristian 2004-11-18 12:33 PM

Record week from search engine traffic (so far). Great week from other sources.

Key is to give it time for your new free sites to get listed. I don't submit free sites anymore, but I remember that some would list me within minutes, while others might take weeks or months. If you haven't already started, you could also begin submitting to tgp for a quick traffic-boost.

This should be a great time of year and will only get better from now and into the new year. Now get submitting you lazy bastard! :)

Porn Princess 2004-11-18 12:33 PM

Yep, same here. Traffic is up a little even though I haven't submitted any sites this week, but sales are down. My own fault, I've also been doing other projects this week. There is just not enough time in a day.|sandm

Having a good week.

I did have a few sucko weeks but I think that was do to me not building anything for almost a month while I was in home remodeling hell.

Alphawolf 2004-11-18 12:44 PM

I'm not worried. Just odd like things seemed to shut off. I guess my old sites finally fell way down on lists.

Most of the lists have listed the new sites I submitted last 3 days.

tgp traffic is still not something I want to test the waters with.

I decided to build at least 3 (maybe 4) freesites per paysite in order to get enough uniques to make judements about it's conversions.

I'd rather go into tgp having a fair idea of what sites actually convert rather than just blowing a load on bandwidth and seeing poor results.

Yeppers. I think not building for a while caught up to me this week.

I must rebuild the snowball of 'new' sites out there- which is what I'm doin'.

I don't have nearly enough out there yet to keep sales flowing. The snowball melted. :)

grzepa 2004-11-18 02:06 PM

Well I cant complain, actually the last 2 weeks were quite amazing for me, the best since I started. But I feel like Im quite burned with building freesites, Im going to 3 week vacation soon and when I come back I plan to build my own traffic pump :)
Then get back to building/submitting.

stuveltje 2004-11-18 02:11 PM

i have to say while the normally sites dropped in sales for me the extreme sites are still doing well its nice to have a balance i only dont know how long that balance will stay............but then i keep building and doing my thing, this bizz has its up s and downs|violin|

miracle 2004-11-18 02:44 PM

I have been away for about 3 months! and started back 3 weeks ago. Things realy suck for me. I work with galleries and delivered 15k uniques to sponsers without any sales yet. I had better sales when I was not submitting last month. Never happened to me before last couple of years in the biz. I have heard same complains from many other webmasters too since late October. Hope it's gonna roll again.

I think everyone in here knows when I had my "suck week" :D

CybrFire 2004-11-18 04:29 PM

Same here too about the sales. Although Oct. was very good to me, seems since Nov. came in everything went dead. I know it's because of the holidays and everybody is trying to save their $$ for X-Mas and all that.

Although, since that moron bush|raygun| was re-elected, I wonder if that didn't have anything to add to it...pretty coincidental it went dead about the same time.

stuveltje 2004-11-18 04:41 PM

i love the christmas months, good trafffic and a big surprise from me soon|violin|

Fonz 2004-11-18 04:41 PM

Sales are down for me too in November. In my short time in the biz September, and February thru April have been the best for me. |pcsucks|

f69j69b 2004-11-18 09:01 PM

Very bad for me at the rate its going I will only make half what I did last month |sad|
I am still building 5-6 free sites per week

krki 2004-11-18 09:48 PM

Suck week for me too, last one was great but this |goodnight

Mishi 2004-11-19 03:12 AM

Traffic up, sales down. 'Tis the season. |angry|

stablehand 2004-11-19 07:06 AM

and i thought it was only me. Glad i'm not alone, well sorry, but you know, misery loves company. Had a coupla suck weeks. Din't know what caused them, cuz been having a little more traffic than normal, and better quality than normal.

I ascribe it to the season as well, haven't been around for a full year to know, but my thinking is: family guys too busy with other things + saving money. tho as the holidays come closer, i figure lots of guys feeling lonely and want to spend some cash on that SPECIAL girl. Is this the time for babes-niche? |santa|

BTW, i know it was asked in another thread, but never saw where to look. Is there any demographics charts on adult surfers somewhere?

Mateusz 2004-11-19 08:10 AM

Whole november sucks for me :( but newsleter made me think optimistic

Alphawolf 2004-11-19 10:38 AM

I guess complaining helped (it broke my dry spell this week).

I checked my stats and traffic is down about 40% what is was last month.

Guess it pays to build and submit and repeat always. :)

Jan Barnes 2004-11-19 11:53 AM

November has been pretty bad for some reason. Christmas usually is a bad period as well, thus let us hope that things start kicking from now until December 15 or so.

docholly 2004-11-19 12:42 PM

after an in depth analysis of our traffic/submit stats for the last 3 months, i can see why some weeks suck more than others. Too much time on the GG&J board not enough time SEO'ing.

|rasta|

Alphawolf 2004-11-19 07:38 PM

Actually, the 1st 2 weeks of November were really good for me.

No biggie- need to build the traffic back up.

digifan 2004-11-19 09:30 PM

I cannot complain... despite having the worst flu of the century for a week now.

Alphawolf 2004-11-20 01:58 AM

:)

Are your computer probs fixed now?

FoZzI 2004-11-20 02:19 AM

OMG, my sales are really down. Usally doing over 200 a day, having the worst week ever. On day with a total income of 3.57.
Strange , traffic still the same, SE traffic still the same on all my tgps. Been working too much on the tgps and not submitting a damn thing. But there you go |skull|

Not really but that ftp problem was solved and it was a server side problem :) But my processor is slow.

|smooch|

Alphawolf 2004-11-20 03:15 AM

ftp was his server, huh? HAHA. Oh, well.

Get better and overclock your CPU for better performance. ;)

Another factor this year is the banks really cracking down on identity theft - they are scrubbing really hard right now

I was surprised when my bank manager called me this week to ask me if I had authorized a $150 charge because it was a charge in France - she told me that they are implementing all kinds of new checks that they havent done before with the buying season this year - which started full swing about two weeks ago.

That's good to know, thanks for sharing.

Venturi and I went on a clothes and office supplies shopping spree last week. We were sure PayPal was going to flag the account, considering all we usually by are (is? grammar is hard!) tobacco and beer. But NO! Just any crazy Target shopper could have totally stolen our account. Should I be peeved? ;)
