Page refesh this!

http://www.xxxteens4free.com/Free_Porn/Petite_Blonde/6/

Load this in your browser and hit F5 a few times - is anyone else seeing something different too after 3/4 goes?

Cheers!

Cleo 2003-10-11 11:20 AM

Stays the same in Mozilla under Mac OS X, but a lot of the tricks don't work with this combo.

Chop Smith 2003-10-11 11:24 AM

Stays the same for me.

Surfn 2003-10-11 11:25 AM

10x here stayed the same.

doublep 2003-10-11 11:35 AM

Mmmmm... still doing the same here, although the last time I tried I had to refresh it about 10 times, then I loaded it up again and it went after 3 tries.... it's going to an FPA...

Surfn 2003-10-11 11:39 AM

Correction - I got the FPA the first click. That's a tricky one I personally wouldn't list it. |sad|

RawAlex 2003-10-11 11:39 AM

Took about 30 times, but it finally did give me a full page ad instead... and the sqaure banner on the top of the page doesn't load about 1 out of 5 times or so...

nice trick, I suspect it is a timered thing, only people coming in on second 30 or 60, as an example.

Nice filter...

Alex

doublep 2003-10-11 11:52 AM

Thanks Alex! Another one for the ban list!

Cheers mate :)

jennym 2003-10-11 12:03 PM

The FPA I get is
http://xxxteens4free.com/missing.html

A missing page....Maybe they are just having host problems or something???

Dr Bizzaro 2003-10-11 12:34 PM

I got a FPA after about 6.

Sumrpal 2003-10-11 01:33 PM

That's Brav. I noticed this when I reviewed for the linklists this morning. It seems to be a hosting problem ... or (I could be wrong about this) sometimes if you name folder directories with capital letters it fugs things up.

I've never had a problem with Brav before. It has to be a techinical problem

same here...never had any problems with any of Brav's sites.

Surfn 2003-10-11 03:15 PM

Whatever it is should be sorted out before being submitted otherwise the submitter may end up on a BL |sad|

DangerDave 2003-10-11 04:40 PM

I got the 404 after 5 |pissed|

DD

lagwagon 2003-10-11 07:58 PM

yes 404 for me too. |angry|

Cleo 2003-10-11 08:31 PM

I just tried again. I got 404 on the third click.

pornodoggy 2003-10-11 11:53 PM

Third time was the charm for me too ...

Greenguy 2003-10-12 12:38 AM

The link code to Lightspeed on the FPA that comes up is the same code on the link from the actual site, so it's not the host that's doing it.

Cleo 2003-10-12 01:01 AM

Well the FPA is her 404 page so it still could be something funky with her host.

She usually comes by the board so hopefully she will clear this up. I tried some of her other sites that I had listed and they were also doing this so I had to delete them. :(

Then again they do sell stuff that does exactly this…

doublep 2003-10-12 05:29 AM

It seems to be ok now - I have emailed the webmaster so I'll hang on till I get a reply, it may be a genuine tech problem.

:)

Greenguy 2003-10-12 07:15 AM

When I said "host" I meant that it was not something like the host taking every Xth hit & sending it someplace else :)

It could very well be a hosting problem.

spacemanspiff 2003-10-12 07:47 AM

It's definitely a hosting issue, although not a sneaky trick or anything. They have several "data canters" around the US that mirror each other for load balancing purposes. The w/m uploads to a central staging server and the files are transfer to all the data centers. If one of them is having problems (server or connection down, etc) you may get a 404 every now and then. It should be temporary. Everyone's host hiccups every now and then.

Greenguy 2003-10-12 08:51 AM

I don't know - if a server or connection is down, you're not gonna get a 404, you'd get a "no dns"

Cleo 2003-10-12 08:59 AM

I agree, don't see how a server could not serve up the correct page but still serve up their 404 page.

Surfn 2003-10-12 09:34 AM

I have to agree with GG and Cleo on this. If there is no server you get a DNS error. If you get a 404 then it's deliberate on someone’s part, webmaster, host, hacker, etc.

urb 2003-10-12 09:36 AM

Shit happens. Hit delete and move on. :)

doublep 2003-10-12 11:58 AM

I usually would Urb mate - this webmaster has over 60 sites listed.... didn't want to delete them without giving the webmaster a chance to explain if it was deliberate or not.... will give her another 24 hours.....

:)

jennym 2003-10-12 12:07 PM

Like SS said, some hosts have several "data centers" to distribute info. If one of those "data centers" is down, then some of the info will not be available (this is why the page will load, but have a broken image sometimes). The host will also allow that custom 404 (missing) page, which could be located on a different "data center". I have never had a problem with this submitter, and I will wait a little while before I remove any sites.

DangerDave 2003-10-12 04:34 PM

I actually saw a thread on revsharehosting doing this recently... looking for it.....

Free hosting is free hosting;(

DD

Sumrpal 2003-10-12 08:59 PM

Ok, this isn't freehosting. That's real domain on a paid host. Owned by a guy, Brav (Michael), who lives mostly in Vancouver, commutes sometimes to Calgary (I don't know why).

It's a holiday weekend in Canada. He may be off doing the weekend thing, I don't know. I sent him an email to his ISP address.

I've known him for a long time and I can't believe that this is trickery in any way. I can't guarantee it isn't, but I find it hard to believe that it is cheating in any way.

Just my 2¢ Cdn :)

Surfn 2003-10-12 09:06 PM

To someone who has had to endure more than their share of cheaters over the years this raises all kinds of red flags for me. |sad|

Cleo 2003-10-12 09:06 PM

Damn I thought Brav was a woman, oops. |ohhhhh|

Actually I thought this was the same person who spells their name Brave who I do think is a woman. I just thought that they sometimes left of the e. |confused|

Anyway it doesn't make any difference.

You're right mate, that's what I'd have done.

While I'm thinking about it, someone was posting about useful features of a link list script??? Well, how about a temporary category to place suspect sites without deleting them? :)

teamperfectogab 2003-10-13 05:30 AM

worked normal here, tried 5x

jennym 2003-10-13 10:06 PM

This seems to be working fine for me now. I refreshed about 30 times with no problems. What about for everyone else?

doublep 2003-10-14 02:41 AM

I had a couple of vague emails from the webmaster regarding this - this was the last one I got after asking him what the issues were with his host... "Something about it not propagating to the new server. So sometimes it came
up, and other times went to a 404/missing page."

:/

urb 2003-10-14 09:09 AM

This thread was started 3 days ago. So when did propogation start for him?

How does it look when you refresh now mate??

Sumrpal 2003-10-14 09:20 AM

It all works perfectly for me now. The other day, as I clicked through his freesite, I would occassionally get that 404 page, but I just clicked on every link in the site and everything came up fine.

I think he needs to wait a little longer between the time he uploads the site and submitting. Give it time to propagate through all the server mirrors.

The site he subbed looks fine now mate... havn't checked the others he has listed but I will do though... thing I don't understand is why would anyone change the DNS info without putting up the files in the first place... but there you go.. I have decided to let it slide this time, for now... benefit of the doubt and all that...

:)

urb 2003-10-14 12:04 PM

Glad to hear it's all sorted. :)

But I would go back and check in a few days. You never know.
