Danger Dave, do you need another submitter?

Hi Dave
Went to your site, which is awesome and saw that you were no longer accepting submissions from non partners and to ask here why.

Well it's pretty obvious why, but I'm asking if you would like just one more partner who though new to submitting has a little bit of knowledge of porn, a wealth of exclusive and under used content and will never cheat.

We do work like this.

Teen with Vibrator

Hot teen

Big tit teen getting fucked

Putting up a fresh gallery and soon freesite a day.

Of course if anyone else out there wants to give a lame arse idiot a parter account I'm open

Paul Markham2 2005-01-09 11:10 AM

I;m getting the distinct impression no one here loves me. |violin|

swedguy 2005-01-09 11:18 AM

Do a search here and you will see that this question comes up every other day and his answer is always the same :)

One that's still on the first page: http://www.greenguysboard.com/board/...threadid=15096

Paul Markham2 2005-01-09 11:26 AM

OK I understand.

One of the things I'm noticing as a rookie to submitting is the number of sites closed or only taking paid submissions. Seems the reverse side of the free content, free galleries, free computers, etc is paid listings where it counts the most.

Cleo 2005-01-09 11:35 AM

Lists are being flooded with submits, it has gotten out of control.

I'm declining 80% of submits these days. That leaves 20% of the submits getting through which is way more then enough to keep my surfers happy. This is especially true when you factor in my own stuff and the stuff that sponsors give me.

I've closed my submits to new users but I did put up a page where someone can ask me for an account.

You would not believe what webmasters send me asking for an account. |banghead|

I'm am seriously considering asking for a small fee to review sites for possibility of getting an account just to cut back on the crap in my mailbox each day.

Paul Markham2 2005-01-09 11:38 AM

Swedguy saw your site and will be applying for an account as soon as I have some galleries to show you.

Building them right now.

Paul Markham2 2005-01-09 11:42 AM

Cleo the moment I'm happy with the way we are performing I will be happy to pay, so long as the end result is profitable.

I'm not happy with the conversion rate yet on the site at the moment. That might be down to the traffic or the tour or both.

Cleo 2005-01-09 11:44 AM

You all ready have a submitter account at Cleo's Links don't you?

I don't accept galleries. But if you start making free sites, feel free to apply.

Don't think so, still preparing the galleries. But be assured I will be getting one, well asking for one. |newbie|

I meant freesites.

Maybe I will show you what I'm doing late today.

Not finished as I have to get the site wording right, but here's a taster.

My first FREESITE |newbie|

Cleo 2005-01-09 01:36 PM

Enter link needs to be below the recips.

I would kill the Enter text on the galleries.

swedguy 2005-01-09 01:43 PM

What Cleo said and....

I'd put ads on the index page. Maybe also some text (good for SE's)
I'd make all the image text on your main page real text instead... the SE's can't read images.

Other than that it looks good :)

Paul Markham2 2005-01-09 02:15 PM

I know the links need to go above the Enter buttond, that was my mistake.

But I thought the tesxt on the gallery pages works, relates my thoughts and what the site has to offer to the imges.

Back to the drawing board. |newbie|

plateman 2005-01-09 04:39 PM

Hey paul see my sig I accept free sites..

How many new sites per day do you feel is enough to keep surfers happy?

I was searching tgp's yestersay bookmarking submit pages...quite a few link went to pages that didn't exist, pages that told me to go fuck myself, pages that demanded $300 for 6 mos to submit to 3 lesbian tgp's, and a few even had actual submit forms. :)

I'm glad I'm in the 20%. |thumb

Hell, I went to submit to JK after not submitting since Dec 3oth and he closed all submits to public. Need to e-mail him to get an account.

bstrawse 2005-01-09 05:32 PM

I've found very few places that still take public submits and that have good traffic for galleries - Hun and Worldsex would be two of the exceptions.

Like Paul, I have no problem paying for a submit pass or even post/gallery post/freesite if the traffic is good.

This year I expect to see a continuance of the trend towards closed submissions / partner only / pay to submit sites.

And maybe that's not such a bad thing.

While the upper left graphic is nice it isn't a sales link.

I'd put a big fat text link in place of everything on top with something like

"Mary and Lisa got out the vibrators and no holes were barred...
...oral, anal and even the skipping rope get shoved in every hole!!!
~~CLICK HERE NOW~~ 4 the Best Teen Sluts on the net!!!!"

or "---->ACCESS MY SITE NOW<--- to see *all* the uncensored pics of Mary and Lisa and TONS more *quality* EXPLICIT teen pics!!!"

Somethin' like that. 10 pics per gallery is sorta cheap these days. ;) LL's won't eat up much bandwidth.

If you put say 12 pics per gallery you could have 3 or 4 in a row and nest your link in between like a sandwich.

BTW, I recall a thread on gfy where you posted some really hot teaser pics. You should use some of those on the main page of the tour of your paysite.

If you can get porn webmasters worked up it's good stuff. :D

I could probably close my submits totally and just add sponsor hosted stuff, my own stuff, and rotate sites in my LL's database with New Icons for many months.

The other problem is everyone doing the same niches like Teen, Lesbian, Amateur, and other niches heavily promoted.

Someone with access to fresh good content does have an advantage in this biz. Personally I'm really sick of looking at trannies but I have good access to good content doing it so I build crappy promotional pieces out of it.

I thought about it too. But I figured it's pretty nice for branding since it's Paul's own paysite. Makes it stick out from every other free site.
But if it could be incorporated into an ad and make it clickable it would be even better :)

And you could always re-open to public if you needed to.

Only thing I see is perhaps a decline in rankings if others stayed open to public submits...

At this point what is the advantage that keeps you open to the public?

I think many places are starting to ask just this question.

I remember not long ago everyone was screaming that there was too much free stuff out there.

Now it is too many submitters as well.

Just my 1 cent but it seems to me that things are getting stale.
Theres only so many places now that don't have accounts and atleast its not 30 sites of the same sponsor same look etc.
I'm probly wrong but it seems like folks are getting lazy on both sides of the fence.
I choose not to get partner accounts go back to old school and find ways to get traffic.
Don't get me wrong rules are rules but seems to be too many followers nowdays.
Think about how it is you came to make 4-10k a month an as that drops and it will think about that ig door you closed
Partner accounts and closed subs was not how you got there and yes there will always be cheaters.
BTW Paul you always have great content keep it simple and you'll do great :)

Paul Markham2 2005-01-10 01:11 AM

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions

Peeman Yes the thumbs were made by the gallery designer and need sorting out.

Alphawolf Thanks for the suggestions, I like the idea og a banner at the top telling them what they get. The front page changes every day check it out today. These are todays additions, some days we have better than others. But hopefully the tour will change soon. Taking to long and one designer may be getting kicked out.

Paul Markham2 2005-01-10 01:44 AM

CLEO makes a good point here. The good TGP and link sites are getting sunmissions from the sponsors themselves. They can no longer rely on affiliates to get them listed and they can afford to pay.

IMO The traffic market will change this year, up until now the emphasis has been largely on clicks well with people paying that emphasis will change to conversions.

TGP and LL sites buying/exchanging traffic that no paysite would touch. to me it's traffic that is VERY heavy on free surfers and light on surfers looking to buy. I don't see the process of these people going via a TGP site will suddenly turn them into buyers, even though they get more choice.

tiny again another guy to agree with, we will be looking at other ways beside LL, TGPs and Link dumps to raise traffic. Might start talking to a few mags about free sets for a URL tag on the sets. We have a lot of second rights sets sitting on our shelves that would be attractive to a magazine for free and good for us with a URL banner.

But where you are wrong is with the changing market. In business never assume what worked yesterday will work tomorrow. They may have got where they are with free submissions, but could stay there with paid and partner sunmissions.

Thanks for the compliment on the content, just need to get a good tour going showing what we do.

RawAlex 2005-01-10 02:35 AM

Paul, things are moving about as fast as you can imagine. Just when you thought you have a grip on it, it slides away on ya.

There are things you can do as a program owner to get traffic, to market directly to link site and TGP owners. You can shorten the cycle, and improve your traffic situation.

As in Free Hosted Sites!

Might want to be careful since the license agreement from your content provider does not allow using content on free hosted galleries but it is okay to give the content to affiliates to promote your site.
