Fantastic Fucking Friday For All!

Good Friday Peoples |buddy|

I woke up today around 5 for no reason - went to piss & planned on going back to bed, but the dog needed to make some yellow snow, so I made some coffee :D

I have no major plans today - we are watching my niece this weekend, so that'll keep me busy for the most part.

I'm off to read the rest of the board & then sort some content :)

Useless 2005-01-28 07:45 AM

Another joyously frozen day is upon us. It's around -10F out here. My poor furnace has been running for hours and can't get the house above 70. Old bastard house. Plus I have a sore throat. Any one have a lozenge?

Greenguy 2005-01-28 08:07 AM

My house is really fucking cold too - you notice all the cracks & leaks when it gets down to -9° F - we've gone thru 2 cords of wood so far this year.

MrMaryLou 2005-01-28 08:16 AM

Good morning all :) Hot Coffee for all :)

Ramster 2005-01-28 08:18 AM

Good Morning :)

The usual for me...work.

Jim 2005-01-28 08:30 AM

kristian 2005-01-28 08:35 AM

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr! it's only 64F here...... high of 69F all day..... need to close the window...1/2 way.

Cleo 2005-01-28 09:17 AM

About the same time that Greenie was making yellow snow I had to get up and turn on my A/C. :D

Looks like it is going to warm up enough to hop on my bicycle and go to the beach today. I got some new killer |potleaf| last night so I'm planning a totally unproductive day of a herbal state of mind, sand, music, and relaxing with scantily clothed bipeds while enjoying the salt air.

digifan 2005-01-28 09:29 AM

Cleo,

you deserve that day and fun.. but correct me if I'm wrong I thought it was Greenie's dog making yellow snow?

:D

Cleo 2005-01-28 09:35 AM

Well Greenguy was holding the yellow snow maker's leash. :D

Man I wish I was somewhere warm right about now. I could kill for a nice warm sunny day on the beach :)

It's -6 here right now but at least its sunny. Everyone here in the state is bitching about the high cost of natural gas. My bill last month was $250 to heat a 2200 sq ft house. My electric bill was about $300 to finish heating the part of the house without forced air heat. I recently went and bought a Kerosene heater when my electric heat went out a week or two ago and man has it been nice :) It costs about $10-15 a week to heat the room but it is also heating part of the rest of the house so hopefully my gas & electric bill will be lower this month. C'mon summer I need to save some money on electric and gas :)

Greenguy 2005-01-28 10:04 AM

Fucking weather! Kitchen sink drain is frozen as is the toilet in the pool house |banghead|

Should be a wonderful Super Bowl Party if I have to ask everyone to not flush the shitter & use the house for #2 :D

Cleo 2005-01-28 10:05 AM

Wow it is expensive to heat your home.

My electric runs around $300 a month in the hot months and around $180 in the cool months. The only other utility bill I have is my water/waste bill which runs around $85 a month.

digifan 2005-01-28 10:20 AM

Damn cold here too and lots of snow.. I neded a plumber myself.

Greenie,

I hope hot water helps? Old but proven and cheap method :)

Envy is a sin - I'm a sinner :D

Woke up at 7 today to do my laundry. When I was done I realised I got up way too early and needed to take an hour hour nap.... which turned into 3 hours.... I never learn |angry|

plateman 2005-01-28 10:29 AM

cold as fuck here also.. but its warming up this weelend to a hot 30 - 35 F

And Acidmax I feel your pain with the high gas bills when we had old junk windows sometimes we got $ 400 bills in the coldest months

kristian 2005-01-28 10:31 AM

All this makes me wish I still sold uPVC windows... :(

The shitty part is that the house is insulated pretty well and the house is only 10 years old. I would not doubt if there are riots here in Michigan because of the gas company. They are just raping everyone. I remember for the last few years my gas bill was only like $100 a month and now its $250. Oh well summer is around the corner and thankfully we get a good breeze from across the lake in the summer to keep it somewhat cool so we don't have to have A/C on all the time :)

digifan 2005-01-28 10:38 AM

Summer around the corner? man I envy your optimism :)

I pay just under $2500 a year for home insurances. This is my homeowners plus the state's high risk pool for windstorm. I'm guessing this will go up yet again this year but I'm not crazy enough to go without it.

It was 5K to have the tree removed from my roof and the I spent about 85K remodeling my home but most of this was not due to the storm. I did get 6k from my windstorm insurance. I'll probably have my one remaining ficus tree trimmed way back before the next storm season now that I know they have very shallow roots and tend to fall on things.

Other then the inconvenience of the hurricanes they aren't that big of a deal unless something falls on your home since the houses in my area are built to withstand them without damage.

I've lived in south Florida since 1969 and last year I was in more hurricanes then all the years I've lived here so I am really hoping that things return to normal in the coming years.

I would normally agree with you Sparky. But, this weekend my daughter and granddaughter are coming for a visit. So, besides spending more money than I usually do, I will have to spend more time doing home stuff.

Verbal 2005-01-28 12:14 PM

Well, today it's no beach party here either. Bitter cold by the lake... and last weekend Mother Nature decided to take a loving snow dump on the city for a couple of days. Lovely. Sometimes I wonder why I stay here... heheh. Anyway, Happy Friday. :)

Cleo 2005-01-28 12:17 PM

I'm still trying to decide what to wear after taking a shower.

Shorts and a tank top or jeans and a top with sleeves.

Decisions, decisions…

I better decide on something soon as I'm getting waffle butt from my office chair.

Porn Meister 2005-01-28 12:25 PM

Mornin all.. very bright and cold, maybe 5 degrees..

I think I'll go make frozen waffles :D

cd34 2005-01-28 12:30 PM

Since moving to Florida in the summer of '99, I have worn long pants due to weather related occurrences perhaps 20 times. Longs pants due to social engagements, another dozen.

Go for the shorts and tank top.

Its what Floridians do to irritate the northerners. haha

My AC was turned back on yesterday, its going to be a bone chilling 79F/26C here today.

Cleo 2005-01-28 12:46 PM

I went with the jeans and long sleeve top. It isn't that often that we get to wear our winter clothes. I did go with sandals for foot wear since I pretty much don't own anything else.

Going to pop the top out of my car and take a drive so that I can dry my hair while enjoying the sunshine.

If I could convince my parole officer to take off this damned ankle bracelet, I'd move to Florida too.

Just kidding. My parole officer is buried in my basement.

Cleo 2005-01-28 01:47 PM

The only Sparky image that comes to mind is a character from FarScape

docholly 2005-01-28 02:16 PM

hmmm seems it's 65 here today but over cast.. had 2 days of rain this week

AcidMax: and here we've been told all this time how much cheaper Natural gas is supposed to be.. how we have an abundance of it.. my heat/hw/ac avgs about 300.00 per month. we get a break in April and Nov. when it's semi pleasant in the desert.

But with all the rain..my lawn is actually GREEN not that for-ka ka brown that is Natural Vegas Lawn.

Taking the Xmas decorations down today.. pink flamingos out of the lawn ..or maybe not..maybe i should just hang some beads around them for Mardi Gras next week..
