Definitely a confirmed dance now - over 50 datacenters are showing completely different results scattered about - looks like a really good one for some - but its way too early to tell the full outcome as there are just too many indexes floating around out there right now :)

Anything to repair what happened Dec 17. I cannot fair any worse.

Same here they did a number on my LL and I hope it comes back to the little google traffic I had before this started a few days ago..

Just noticed some datacenters are showing backlink updates as well - small drop here - but not significant

Definitely just took a dip for me. Last week, was fantastic, earlier this week, fantastic, yesterday and today has sucked major for me.

I had the #1 spot for the longest time for a search term and now I'm at 131 for it!!

Is this thing over yet or no? I am hoping it hasn't settled I usually drop in sales when google is updating, but hopefully this isnt done yet.

Have people linked to you for one. When GOOGLE spiders the sight linking to you, they will spider yours as well. You can also submit your site to google I believe but I don't know how that all works. Linkster, Bill, DD or one of the others might be better to answer that question. From what I know the key is to get your sites linked to by someone else who is in google. The more the merrier, hence the link trade forum, link lists etc.

i had a lost of 2000 keywords still waiting for some of them to come back this update. looks like this update taking a while i think it will dance at least a week more |angry|

Some spammer appears on one of my keywords with a bunch of subdomains redirecting to his main URL. So most of my sites are on google on the 18th site, except of two which appaer on number one spot.

Hope that google deletes his sites. His whois is fake, of course. |devil|

I went from #2 to nowhere in 3 days. I really wish my site will come back to it's previous place for my targetted keyword, since my site really is relevant to the term I target. The top 10 for my keyword is now full of shitty spam pages, redirecting pages, keyword stuffed pages etc. You started to suck big time you big G.

its usually liek that after big updates (which i think this was) just wait for google to tweak and hopefully get things a little bit to normal hehe

The last 2 days I was back up in a good range for "free porn" (where I used to float around one of the top 70 positions early last year) - and now the high placing is gone again - so it's not finished yet :(

It's bad all over, FWIW...spent the first part of the day browsing mainstream and SEO boards, and lots of people are baffled about what happened this time around. If history repeats, we'll all be back around where we hope to be soon. Please. I hope. 'Cause this REALLY sucks. Damn, I didn't honestly realize how much I was depending on Google until this. Time to diversify...

Interesting problems you people have with this search engine stuff. I have never had a top 500 listing in any search engine for any keyword that is searched for so when this happens it never affects my site

Every Time Google dances I freekout and post here crying about my lost SERP's then I slowly get them back
So I wasn't going to look at any stats this time until the dance was done and things settled back down
The slow down in new members in the last week or so changed my mind
last month I had over 15000 search engine hits (Tijuana related), If it stays like this I'll be lucky to get 7000 this month

Hey Fred are you optimizing your sites (meta tags, using keywords etc.)
You might want to play with word tracker and find a key word phrase with good numbers and low competition and build a few free sites useing those keywords

hi Pat yea I do the meta tags, alt tags everthing i have read about search engines nothing ever happens. I had a good listing before this last change on one of my free sites it was #2 for plump rump but it only lasted a few weeks then the hits stoped coming. If I depended on search engine traffic to make my sales I would have had to quit this biz a long time ago.

I did some google monitoring today and it was insane, every 30-60 minutes listings would go from one place to another.

I had a few nice listings that I didn't have before the dance only for them to vanish again later on.. google is making me dizzy!!


I also noticed that I have some REALLY high listings in Yahoo.. I wonder why the traffic isn't as much or as good?

Y! doesn't have nearly the search market share that G has, although if you separate out the traffic normally Y converts better...

It's the same every update - the spam dominates for the first few days, then filters get applied and the people that try to do legit SEO get a few days of traffic, then the fresh spam takes over again. :D

Now that's what I call an optimistic outlook - so we can never win unless we re-tweak our pages constantly (for which I don't have the time - - - unless I don't build/submit anything new anymore)...

Ahhh, hence google adwords. I use them every once in a while. I know nobody wants to pay for traffic, but the ROI (return on investment) is VERY nice. I always make a nice profit off of Google adwords when I need to get some extra traffic.

I've heard several people say that if you don't know what you're doing with GoogleAdwords to not even bother unless if you have a few hundred to spend testing the water out..

Has it stopped? (I hope not!) Over last four days I have lost most of my Top ten ranks and I still haven't bothered to check for the second, third and fourth page ones :-( I now type Pornography Times or "The Pornography Times" and I have a bunch of sites mentioning me and linking to me, but by own site is nowhere! It still indexes over 7k pages, but most of them are listed as urls - no titles, no nothing.

Lightening my wallet and arse fucking me at the same time doesn't please this little black duck. It's one or the other goog - not at the same time...

All adwords campaigns suspended here.

Its not over yet there is still a BL update floating out there, seen it 3 to 5 days ago but I think the damage is done and we will have to wait till the next one whats bad is if we make changes we might be worse off..

does anyone know if there is a time that G's datacenters show identical information about SERP's or BL's ?

and i dont see any constnat progress there like some datacenters actually will stop dancing and stay with 1 version of SERP's or BL. so i'm just trying to undrestand is there any perioud that all data centers shows same info ?

Google fucked my traffic up big time for one of my sites. Cut it almost in half.. :(

a lot of problems came up for our customers. but we think that we have found a way to bring our customer sites back to their positions.
