Does this board load OK to you all?
 

I don't know why, but this board loads to me very slowly. It may have something to do with a faq that I'm in Finland, that's a long way from USA, but this is only site that does that.

I have ISDL connection, and my ISP made it even faster couple of months ago. Of course it can be that they have put too many accounts in same line, or something, but I'd like to hear if others have the same problem.

Sometimes loads slow for me too, but today it is quite prompt.

Do a tracert to GG&J.
If you have XP, open Run and type cmd.
In the command promt type: tracert greenguysboard.com

Seems to me like it hangs where the 5 120x60 banners are at. Sticks there for a couple seconds, then it loads up fine. But it has always been like that for me :)

It might be because some of the buttons are being loaded from a file on the drive instead of from MySQL.

I agree - I've always found it to load kind of slow.

It is usually a little slow from down here... but stil worth the load..;)

Some people sigs really slow the threads down;(

I think you forgot to glue the little strings to his fingers…

Some of the banners are loading from MySQL and some of them are loading from image files. You can right click on them and get properties to see which are which.

If you right mouse click and get properties on the banner in my sig you will see that it is not being called from a directory on my server's drive.

How much different in speed that makes it is hard to say, but theoretically it should be faster since it is being read from the MySQL database rather then from an image URL.

The board is loading just fine for me now.

Thanks for all replies. It must be because I'm long way from USA, so data has a long way to travel to my browser, lol!

Every afternoon when I have work enough, I read three boards. This one is one of them, and really worth to wait. Of course now, after this thread, it loaded quickly, lol!

well, i must say that here from Italy is not that fast either. my connection is fine on my end and all others USA sites load fast as hell. maybe u guys should optimize the TOP ads or enable GZIP compression for the board... only a tip. or check simultaneous connections aswell..

Just my 2 cents - there's a lot of board that use the same script as this one (V Bulletin, I believe) that load a lot faster. Might be the way the ads are displayed or something.

pretty much always has loaded slow for me, it's that header and nav bar that's doing it.

Always loads slow for me. Especially when I click to make a post and right after I click "submit reply" and go back to the thread. Going from thread topic to actual thread lags also.

Maybe too many SSI includes? PHP processing?

Yeah always been one of the slowest boards for me...

Probably because of the top graphics and the multiple banner rotations...

it's normally slow for me, just now after I hit reply it took 30 secs to load :/
