Deadwood Resumes In Less Than 1 Hour!!!!!

I can't remember the last time I was so psyched to see a TV show start back up again |bananna|

The Bitch & I have gotten into this habit of re-watching the previous season before the new ones start on HBO & Showtime (did it with Six Feet Under, Carnivale & The L Word)

But re-watching the last few episodes of the 1st season of Deadwood has me ready to open a can of peaches & get ready for the show :D

Torn Rose 2005-03-06 08:48 PM

We have watched shows 1-4 so far since last night, only 8 more to go and then I can be caught up.

Great show!

Jim 2005-03-06 08:57 PM

I just read 2 interesting articles. Ian McShane (Al Swearengen) signed up for 4 seasons of Deadwood. But, it seems that HBO has only agreed to 3.

Jim 2005-03-06 08:58 PM

Oh yeah, 3 minutes left until it starts...again :)

Useless 2005-03-07 07:30 AM

'Welcome to fucking Deadwood'

tortus32 2005-03-07 07:34 AM

That was a great way to be introduced to their humble camp - LOL!

Bill

It was a very good episode, but I am a tad bit confused as to why they'd have Swearengen & Bullock going at each other so soon (you'd think one of them has to die) And what's with Bullock's wife & step-son calling him "Mr Bullock"?

It seemed to be revealed at the very end that she is actually Bullock's late brother's wife and the boy is his nephew. He has decided to take on the responsibility of providing for them.

Greenguy 2005-03-07 08:51 AM

Yeah, that was established last season - but he supposedly married her after his brother died, which is why his constant banging of the widow is mocked by so many camp members :D

Jim 2005-03-07 09:04 AM

I liked it of course but, it seemed different. Can't quite put my finger on it but something was different.

Greenguy 2005-03-07 09:23 AM

Maybe it was that Eddie ran off? Or that Jane was only in one scene? Or that Swearengen's tubby sidekick has more lines this season?

Jim 2005-03-07 09:29 AM

Maybe it was that so much has happened since we were last there.

Greenguy 2005-03-07 09:32 AM

Nothing of interest happened - Bullock built a house, the Widow's mine is producing & they have very loud & ceiling shaking sex :D

...and Jane's still drunk |drunk|

That is a very old custom. The brother dies and an unmarried brother assumes his duties to take care of his family. I guess Bullock felt that obligation, but obviously has no feelings for the woman... he seemed more interested in raising the boy, who is afterall his flesh and blood. In short though.... Bullock is nuts like everyone else in the camp.

As for the fighting, I don't see either one getting killed, but anything is possible in these kind of shows. Heck, from the previews, someone could buy it next week or the week after. But, I think there are way to many storylines for each of them. (and remember.. these shows are only like 13 episodes, so they tend to fast forward).

I think they're just a couple of Alpha's testing each other out, and, setting up future storylines. Like Dan feeling betrayed that Al took the other guys side (next week)

I did see something I didn't like when watching the 'Making of season 2' the night before... It looks like the guy that killed Hickock is coming back as a different character. I HATE when series do that. It's not like this guy had a bit part either. |angry|

Trev 2005-03-07 03:21 PM

Oh..... and I love this fucking show... and every cocksucker on it!

Jim 2005-03-07 03:31 PM

I would hate to see the coward that killed Wild Bill come back as someone else. But, they did do that on NYPD all the time.

I liked that they have the queen of the borg as a high priced hooker this season :)

That's true. They did that a lot on NYPD. And, yeah. I didn't even recognize her at first, then went HEY!! |headbang|

What is all this hype about Deadwood?

I've never even heard of the show, is it better than LOST?

It is a very good show on HBO : Deadwood

It is different then Lost so it is kind of comparing apples to oranges, but I really love Lost & I'm now a fan of Deadwood.

Torn Rose 2005-03-07 11:37 PM

We just finished watching season one, great show, but who ever is in charge of the HBO VOD they are on our shit list.

We watched episodes 1-7 Saturday and Sunday, today they removed episodes 1-8 so we missed #8 which I wanted to see (we read what happen on the Deadwood site)

Going to watch #13 in bed in a few, add this show to my "must see" list.

Anyone else squirm like a fish at the end watching Al scream?

Trev 2005-03-20 11:21 PM

all I can say is..... that thing had a hook on the end |shocking|

I still have a grimace on my face

Great show. I missed episode 1 because I was away so I missed the "fight". Got the jist of things so far but why did they fight and why did Bullock lose his gun and badge?

He had taken them off to fight Al, but they both went off the balcony, and he didn't go back to get them until later on.
