How not to do hosted free sites
Signed up with two different sponsors in the last week because they had hosted free sites and both of them had unusable free sites.
First sponsor rotated their pics each day making them impossible to describe or have a theme so tossed. :( Today I sign up with XBangCash and the pages have no opening or closing page tags, just a some tables. :( Example http://www.hugerackclub.com/freesite...26&e=1157&ec=0 |
Comes up with two galleries of 8 pics each and a video clip that won't play on my PC - that's using IE

I never got as far as trying to play any movies. Nope they don't play on my Mac either.

I really can't believe that more sponsors cannot make HFS that are decent enough to list... the threads come and go, the sponsors pop in and say "we're on it" and then crap like that comes out that will do CNN more good than link list owners :(

It's pretty obvious which programs are managed by people that have never done any gallery submissions themselves. In many cases, if the content itself is good, I'll use the full size images to build my own galleries to submit to other TGP's. However, there's only so much time in a day and that tends to defeat the purpose of having free hosted galleries to use as fill on my own TGP's. :(

Not only are those free sites terrible they will never sell one membership. Never. There is no text and the pictures do not match the sponsor.

Lee Noga is supposedly working on new ones - if you remember back to that big HFS thread that we had going (well, one of the 3 of them - LOL) we advised her that the current ones were less than spectacular & she was going to have the staff work on new ones based on our advice.
Of course, we are still waiting to see the new ones :( |
I must have missed that or I wouldn't have bothered with signing up and grabbing them.
Maybe embarrassment will work. |

Lee - I don't think anyone is trying to kick you when your down, but those HFS so sorta suck & Cleo just forgot that we had brought it up in the past & that you said you were going to work on new ones based on the advice of people on the board.

man those HFS are a pain! LOL I know I have spent the last week working with my guys to try and get our script to treat the freesites in the same way as they do our hosted galleries. In other words have all the page giving credit to the affiliate for any sales made. it has been a challenge and we have delayed an annoucement for 4 days now just because of this. I may just have to kick it off without hosted freesites available to our affiliates :(
but still, the design you posted here Cleo, from that sponsor, was pretty weak. |
SexyCityJim - if you need good old fashion honest no bull shit advice, post some examples & we'll rip them apart for you :D

Having made a few hfs for some sponsors. I think that some are over coded which maybe the problem thinking code instead of design.

Do you really need MPA involved in it? If you just set up standard php includes so that we link to the site with ?123456 at the end of it & then you link to the sites with the include set to insert 123456 into the link, I think you'd be all set.
I think Bling Cash used MPA & has HFS (that are kinda stinky) - might give you an idea on how to set it up :) |

I'm apparently following Cleo on the FHS sponsor route.
Isn't that Route 66? No wait, it's Route 86 as in 86 "Out Of" my rotation. Only 1 has taken seo into account. Let's just build galleries for the masses of freeloaders :D |

Umm, silly question here...does all these makers of HFS know to center the damn table? They absolutely look like crap on higher resolution which a lot of people use now. I know, 800 x 600, fine, but not centering the damn table the whole HFS is to the left and looks god awful.
