Morning
None of us got a lot of sleep last night. One of our dogs (our newest) broke her leg last night. We have to take her to an orthopedic surgeon today.

swedguy 2005-04-15 06:22 AM

Morning all. Looks like the building of another delicious day outside my palacial offices. This is really perfect weather. Looks great from the window, but not warm enough to draw me outside and distract from my work. Almost makes me think that there is a great butt-plugged porn god looking down on me.

docholly 2005-04-15 07:39 AM

Whoooo.. |bananna| Shopping today.. Barnes and Noble, CompUSA, HomeDepot and Star Nursery and back home before noon when the Cali traffic starts pouring into Sin City. I've often wondered why they want to come here on a Tuesday.. oh wait..it's their friday..Gawd this place is weird.

Casinos will be packed today with all the last minute peeps trying to win money to pay their taxes.

Cleo 2005-04-15 08:03 AM

I'm awake therefor I am. :)

Need coffee, must wake up, coffffffeeeeee

MrMaryLou 2005-04-15 08:09 AM

Good morning all :) I hope all is ok with your dogs leg Jim

Greenguy 2005-04-15 08:17 AM

Good Tax Day Everyone!

I just realized that since I waited til the last minute to pay my taxes, I'll probably end up waiting in a long line at the post office. I'm smart - I know what forms I need & everything is already written up & stuck on the envelopes & whatnot - it's the fucking dimwits that wait until they get to the counter to ask what they need to do to send their taxes Certified Mail that really fucking annoy me. I say don't let them cut back in the line once they get their paperwork in order. Send them home to fill it out & they can come back later & wait in line again because they are fucking morons!

(I can only assume that this will happen to me today - LOL)

Jim - what exactly did the little dog do to deserve such a horrible fate? |dog |whip| |couch|

Jim 2005-04-15 08:19 AM

Not sure what happened to her. I think she got on the kitchen table and jumped. She is still crying :(

Greenguy 2005-04-15 08:20 AM

You sure she wasn't barking & whining & a light gentle kick was involved?

Cleo 2005-04-15 08:26 AM

Stand in line???

They have invented this fantastic device that is hung at the front door or on a pole in one's yard called a mailbox. You simply put these sticky little squares on your envelope that contains your tax return and place it in your mailbox and it magically gets delivered to its destination.

Do you also drive to the electric company, phone company, water utility, cable, etc. to pay these bills?
|couch|

I'll be in my backyard today removing more rotting decking. |banghead|

Greenguy 2005-04-15 08:31 AM

Cleo - I invest the $2.95 in getting my tax stuff sent Certified Mail - this way I get a little green postcard back with an official looking stamp on it & I have proof they they got my check :)

I love dangerously :)

Actually I'm just way too lazy and unbothered to pay any attention to the note from my account that says to use certified mail.

Morning all -
Reviews are done, off to Sprawlmart in Detroit Lakes for a new keyboard.
Kids spilled pop on the old one last night - and the back up does a weird thing with the spacebar, now I remember why it's a backup.
Oh, and dogfood too.
Buddy needs some fresh air today anyway :)

Verbal 2005-04-15 10:54 AM

Good day all. Today will be spent catching up on a nice pile of reviews. First pot of coffee is on, with many more to follow. :)

Sorry to hear about your dog Jim.

tjchuck 2005-04-15 11:08 AM

Morning all |waves|

coffee is on |coffee

Sorry to here about your dog Jim, good thing pups bounce back so fast. |thumb

I lost my dog to cancer about 2 months ago and it still really hurts bad |cry|

I kinda have to laugh though, as I couldn't imagine how my 125lb Rottie could even get on the table. I think he would have broke the table not his legs :D

Oh and this is not a joke either, have you considered getting insurance for your dog? Might sound stupid but if you encounter any health issues then alot of it is covered depending on the insurance you choose. My wifes youger sister bought a Wheinmarauner (fuck I can't spell that, you know the grey dogs!) and purchased insurance and we made fun of her when she forked out 30 bucks a month. 5 years later Atlas ( my rottie) gets diagnosed with cancer and, we paid almost 15 thousand dollars last year for him on chemo. It would not have covered it all, but the vet figured even on the small insurance package that the wifes sister was on would have knocked off half. You just never know when something will happen.

Whew...I need a drink of water my voice is sore :D

Good afternoon from me. My sentiments exactly, tgif. One question for you green guy, radio show what time is it on at gmt? |waves| Have a good, no GREAT weekend, you all. |bananna|

Thumbler 2005-04-15 12:28 PM

Hope your dog is OK Jim. One of ours broke a leg last year (puppy at the time) by falling down the steps off the front deck. Ended up with it in a cast for weeks, after it was taken off he still walked around for a couple weeks on three legs. He's fine now.

I've heard good things about the Dell flat screens both in price and quality. Some Mac users that I know that are budget minded bought Dell displays instead of the Apple ones since they were a bit cheaper.

My neighbor has the Apple 30", the thing is fucking awesome. My two year old laptop can't drive it so I would need to buy the new high end Apple laptop and then buy the screen. But I would have a two monitor setup with enough desk space for even the high end video apps. How much can you sell a kidney for these days?

It all depends on what time zone you're in. If you go to the bottom of the page, you'll notice one banner ad (usually the fucking machine banner ad) and a line directly beneath it.
That should answer your question and if it doesn't, GG is based out of the Eastern Time Zone, and usually without Daylight Savings Time we here in the Eastern Time Zone are -5 GMT. I guess with DST we are -4 hours now??

Hope this helps.

Jim 2005-04-15 02:25 PM

It looks like our dog is going to be ok with just the cast. Well, that is what the surgeon said after looking at xrays. We have to take her about an hour from here Monday to make sure.

swedguy 2005-04-15 02:49 PM

I need to join Slackers Anonymous!

What a day at the beach today. Sunny, thin clouds, just enough for the sun to break through and warm. Large thermos of coffee and way too many hours down there and we didn't even manage to solve one earthly problem :D
