Is it worth submitting to link dumps.

I have a site www.paradisebikinis.com

Is it worth spending time submitting this to all the link dumps out there??

krki 2005-05-01 02:56 AM

In my VERY limited experience with link dumps, no. I only worked with them a bit, and I saw no return on my investment of time.

But I didn't spend a lot of time working them; I suspect others have had better results.

neveremail 2005-05-01 06:40 AM

I dont really expect a lot of traffic I was hoping that it might help PR and create a good network of links to my site that search engines can use.

japamor 2005-05-01 10:39 AM

Could someone please explain what a link dump actually is?
Thanks

Just a site where you can put a link to your website and you dont have to link back to thier site.

some linkdumps are better than others. I know of a couple that I dont want to spread publically because they're current sources of good traffic. :)

trial and error is the way to go. you'll find some good ones.

sttvsttv 2005-05-02 07:25 AM

Where can i find a list of link dumps?

ngb1959 2005-05-02 12:39 PM

http://www.awmtalk.com/submitter.asp

http://www.getmoneyquick.info/?cat=link-dumper

http://www.vascodias.com/ald/v4/

The above are autosubmitters.

Here's a link to find more link dumps.

Was better, But still decent. Many have folded or done away with their "Dump It " form..guess they are skating off the residual traffic for awhile. I still get about 400 hits a day from 10-12 dumps I still use.
On a side note, the auto submitters are good BUT can get You banned for spamming esp the smaller Dumps where even if You submit daily Your Links will bunch up and look like a big pile of "spam" ( for the lack of a better word)

I tried using them on a couple of sites, submitted to 100s, if not 1000s of linkdumps and found that it was more of a waste of time than the few dozen chinese surfers my sites got...

I think they may come of age, but right now most just don't have enough traffic or SE pull to make it worth your time...:)

TexasCobra 2005-07-17 01:18 AM

Try these links

fuckingmotherfucker (if you don't end up with the rejects lol) and vuisten.nl send a good amount of traffic, doubt if it's very good quality but it's good to feed the toplists on your site.

BTW, I heard submitting to linkdumps may harm your SE rankings, any truth to this?

2msacras 2005-07-17 10:05 AM

For me it's like TGP's...I tried submitting to every single one and it was a waste of time. Now I've focused more and I'm happy with the results I get

Amen. Good advice there peeps :)

Jringo 2005-07-19 08:50 PM

Here's a decent list......gets me several hundred hits a day still and i quit posting more than a month ago.
http://freedomflashers.com

what you have to do is go down the list and see what results they send and than make your own list from that.
getting listed on their "referers list" gets you residual.
as far as productive..... that 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. depends how and what your selling......... and how honest and exact You are on the descrip. of your posts.

I wouldn't use them for a PR boost. Google may catch the links before they fall off the link dump pages and give you a boost but eventually it'll will notice they're gone and it may penalise you for it.

Google uses the # of inbound links to a given page as one measure of said page's relevance. If all of a sudden those links disappear the page's relevance may drop.

Google: "You were important but now you're all washed up"

This is something I read a few weeks ago. If this is true (and I don't see why it wouldn't be) I'd avoid submitting to many link dumps. I use them once in a while to experiment with traffic but that's about it.

yep that's true, google doesn't really like linkdumps, in fact it does more harm than good

I agree. I am living proof of it. I tried submitting my domains that had great google listings and got even better for a bit.. and now after the latest google update, the domains I had first page listings on.. moved to page 3 or further. Im not a happy camper. I am working on my own link dump as well cause people really seem to like them... only difference is I will own this one so I can make sure my links are always on the site :)

melloman 2005-07-21 03:43 PM

I get very little traffic

You spammed this thread back in 2005, but that wasn't enough for you...

TexasCobra 2008-01-23 12:32 AM

Big Deal

You have spammed this thread since 2005.And your point is?

I don't understand why people don't fix their sigs? Makes them look like spammers right off the get go.

I never had much link with link dumps, brought in some, but no big numbers.

I don't see how link dumps can hurt your site unless you link back.

Jim 2008-01-23 10:35 AM

I have to think some people don't notice the dreaded "re-read" message. There are a couple of people that I felt sorry for and grabbed a banner for them.

Greenguy 2008-01-23 10:52 AM

I think some people have the sig files turned off so that they aren't annoyed by other peoples, while they think their big 750x100 banner is flying high after every moronic post they make.

ronnie 2008-01-23 11:18 AM

I did not know you could turn every ones sigs off, learn something new every day. Thats explains alot.

TexasCobra 2008-01-23 12:01 PM

I'm shaking in my boots.

TexasCobra 2008-01-23 12:07 PM

I'm Scared!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess I'll go to a quality webmaster board.

ronnie 2008-01-23 12:12 PM

If a quality board allows drive by spamming, I'll stay on this webmaster friendly business board..:)

We'll even hold the door open for you.

I find that the traffic sucks with the link dumps. However I have noticed some search engine results from the link dumps. It just a matter of how low you want to go to get traffic. Link Dumps are dirty IMO. Comparable to ditch digging. You dig it and then fill it back up with dirt. A thankless time waster :)

Sigs? I only click on the ones that have more posts than me. But if you make me laugh ok :)

stuveltje 2008-01-23 12:49 PM

i did used linkdumps some time ago (i dont do now because ...i am fixing my bizz) i even have a program to linkdump, even not much traffic, your link will be found in google ...bad way or good way, bad way i mean the linkdump who said on his site" this a a moron , he didnt read the rules" and then with my link behind it showing in google, so i am a moron , oke but you are the moron who still show my clickable link thru your site in google, i think linkdumps are handy for sites you dont submit to links sites and more, i would use linkdumps for stand alone pages and hubs and yep linkdumps are nice to have traffic or to get in the ses even less traffic, you will get in ses, i only say" think wisely which domain you use for that and btw even low traffic you still can have a sale thru that one

T Pat 2008-01-23 02:05 PM

I link dump all my new stuff once, not for the dribble of traffic but for the search engines

Me too. The SE's seems to pick up the sites quicker.

deejne 2008-01-25 10:40 PM

The search engines do not favor these link dump type sites

SuzzyQ 2008-01-26 04:49 PM

I had very little luck with link dumbs. It was more work than its worth.
