Memorial Day Weekend Plans
 

So, what are you guys going to do? Victoria and myself are going to Am-Jam to camp out and be bikers for the weekend :)

No plans other that watching 1100 miles of racing on Sunday :)

Wow... people actually plan ahead for a holiday weekend? We usually just kinda go with it and see what happens :D

I highly suspect we'll spend that weekend waiting for a phone call about the birth of my nephew... not such a bad way to spend three days, as long as the BBQ is nearby and the liquor store doesn't run out of ice |thumb

I just checked my calendar, I think I have to work that weekend.

My usual reply is.... 'I don't know... they haven't told me what I'm doing, yet.'

We have a christening to go to on the 28th, which in itself is a special event, due to the child's parents being just as aethiestic as us. They're having an after-party/camp-out during which we hope to find ourselves inebriated and naked with people we've never met. We enjoy religous occasions more than most. ;)

I'm going to New York Thursday to Sunday. Little bit of biz Thurs/Fri then meeting my friend (best man in my wedding and mine in his) who's flying down from Canada to hit Manhattan on Fri and Sat nights. |cheers|

Sunday night and Monday with family as usual. Maybe barbeque, have the neighbors over.

I will be |cry| because I know that after the weekend the summer starts and I won't be making any money

the 31st is our 8th year of being married..... If I had killed someone I would be set free, but since I got life we are going to a zoo, then kayaking and then speanding the night at a B&B....

other then that, nottathing.

My toenails need to be trimmed. Maybe I should pencil that in for Memorial day.

I've got to think up something or I'm going to end up trapped for a good part of the day with my in-laws. :(

Well, honey and I usually go to am-jam (well we have for the past 4 years) but he has to work on sat..bummer..
I suggested we ride up Sunday just for t-shirts so we'll see..
There used to be a great tattoo artist there, David Hayden, but have no idea if he will be there this year..

When I was a teenager, we lived across the road from the place where the Am-Jam was held for 2-3 years in a row. Lovely little Gansevoort, NY. Me, my brother, and few friends would sit on the hill in our front yard and watch the wet t-shirt contests with binoculars. Ah, the mammories.

My god Im such a loser. Im a 34 year old loser. dam it. I have a hot new wife. live by the beach, have killed every space alien on my computer, always beat my dog as tug of war and just sit at this dam machine all day and night. My friends and I started partying when we were 12 by the time we hit legal drinking age were gave two shits. hell a couple of them were married and working the family thing. Now anything my wife wants to do that for normal people would seem a good time. "Hey hony lets go to the beach, lets go to a club, lets go to NYC" My reply is silence for about 30 seconds. Brain trying to figure out a reason why not to go do something I have done 1 million times. Man I'm sure I will do nothing that weekend, maybe a BBQ with my friends little spoiled shitheads kicking my shins. But at this point I'm just a loser sitting home.

Its an American weekend tradition whereby the good folks of the Union asemble with friends, family or whomever and basically welcome in summer in style with fun, booze, sex and whatever else may occur.

By february, teenage pregnancy comes to fruition, and more often than naught, there are terrible traffic jams to contend with both going away and coming home on this weekend. Many northern americans get their first suntan of the year too. That's quite a memorable weekend, wouldn't you say? :D

Memorial Day came in to being shorty after the Civil War and was meant to be a time or rememberance for those who had fallen in battle and to remind us of the cost of war. It's not working.

It's a day to honor the memory of those that have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of their country.

and now, through the commercialization of it, it becomes a 'first day of summer party'

It's a day to remember all those that have lost thier lives in protecting the USA, fighting against communism and helping W and his buds take over the The Middle East for personal profit.

No matter what your morals or education tells you about the current war, the soldiers fighting it are doing thier duty and risking thier lives. If you see them this weekend say "Thanks" or something.

And its the day when SirMoby spends his recent winnings on a GG&J BBQ! :)

Victoria and I are getting pretty excited about the weekend. It is supposed to be an old fashioned biker rally with a motorcycle rodeo, bar stool races...etc. Our local Harley dealer or as my brother in law now calls it, our local Davidson dealer told use to leave all jewelry at home and bring a gun :)

Well I am off to St Lucia this Saturday for a week, so I guess that covers a bit of the long weekend :D

LOl..no gun..but it usually rains so bring a tent without holes and plastic to line the ground with incase of a minor flood..:)
We usually take the bike and the jeep just incase we need a dry place to sleep..I kid you not..I have some pics of a previous amjam somewhere..we looked GREAT after 3 days of no sleep, booze, assorted other smokeables, and of course the new tat..

it is one of those odd times where it is a holiday (though for different reasons) on both sides of the Atlantic. So, I can acutally do something and not think I am missing a US work day. So, I am high tailing it up to Liverpool to hang with my best friend and then we are going to a town called York which is a midevil town and very attractive.

If you get a chance get over to Le Select for their world famous cheeseburger in paradise - ya might even run in to Jimmy Buffet there :) - its over at St Barths - best damn cheeseburger Ive ever eaten

Well - Ive been tanning the gobs of girls and women that are getting ready to show off their bodies in little bikinis for the last two weeks and some are just starting to get their tans now - busy season at the tanning salon - of course I got the jump on them and got my tan started back in March so Im good advertisement material now - plus they like talking to a man to see if they can get their husbands and beaus to get in there - I tell them to just say its good to prevent the old burning they get fishing the trout lines.

Opened the pool today so Ill probably just invite a bunch of the cheerleader squad from the local Jr college over for a swim party/BBQ and see what develops |pimpin

Yeah, I've been to about 5 of them. I get new tshirts for honey each time we go..It's a lot of fun, a lot of beer, and rock and roll..wet tshirt stuff, but no WET DUDE in UNDERWEAR contest yet!! Bunch of pussies there..LOL
They have great vendors for all kinds of stuff, too..silver, leather, etc..

I am planning an after M day party though in the mountains - this is what Ill look like after a few days
