Fuck me...we are out of here

Our pregnant daughter was just rushed to the hospital with pains that resemble contractions. Obviously, it is way too early. I will not be around this weekend at all. I am taking my laptop but I have no idea if I will be using it or not.

Remember, on the bench tomorrow. Greenie, if you want, send a notice for MML tomorrow morning. You don't have to do the entire newsletter...fuck, I'm not thinking right. Do what you think you need to do but people will understand not getting a newsletter.

This whole thing sucks.

Talk to you guys when I can.

I just moved out a few months ago from a house with a 6 month old in it, that I had lived in through the woman's pregnancy...

If she did something too strenuous for her level of pregnancy (ie lifting something too heavy, right down to vaccumning) then she would get pains that resemble contractions. This started at only about 6 months, and it freaked everybody out the first time it happened, but the doctors soon reassured us all that she just needed to be more careful, as her pregnancy was getting more advanced & that contraction-like symptoms were very normal, if she was doing things she shouldn't be doing (which she tended to do... lol)

What I learned is that contractions will start early yeah, especially as the baby gets bigger & starts moving around a lot more... but not to worry until the contractions get really close together. With the woman I was living with, her water broke & her contractions were 2 min apart....

...18 hours later, she still hadn't dilated enough to deliver, so they gave her a c-section.

I do hope that is all it is Jim, and that your daughter & little one are both okay. Is this her first pregnancy????

Dimitar 2005-06-25 05:23 AM

Best wishes Jim

In States, good medicine, as you the solvent man.
It to you not in Russia, where all collapses....
All at you will be good

swedguy 2005-06-25 07:48 AM

I hope everything goes well with your daughter.

Jim 2005-06-25 08:32 AM

I'm back guys...
They used drugs to stop the labor and now has to spend the next 5 months in bed. Damn...5 months, can you imagine. I am running on no sleep. Going to bed soon...have a good day and thank you for your kind wishes.

Cleo 2005-06-25 08:36 AM

Oh fuck, five months early, not good. :(

Hope everything works out.

Jim 2005-06-25 08:45 AM

Yeah, that's why I was crazy last night. No matter what, if she gave birth, it wasn't going to be good.

sue-fl 2005-06-25 10:32 AM

Wow that is some scary stuff there Jim. Hope you and your wife get some rest. Sending my best wishes for your daughter and her baby.

wildgirl 2005-06-25 11:00 AM

Hope everything will be fine Jim, goodluck :)

Sinistress 2005-06-25 11:35 AM

Oh wow, 5 months early is way too soon to be feeling contractions of -any- kind yeah!!

5 months in bed! UGH! Actually I could probably do it if I had a laptop... lol

Best of luck with everything & hope she feels better soon!!

Useless 2005-06-25 11:40 AM

Damn, I missed this thread. Now I know why Jim is full of nervous energy and threatening to sleep all day.

My best wishes for your daughter and her little one, Jim.

It was really scarry for a while. This is my brand new GrandSon we are talking about. That's right, my daughter's man stepped up to the plate this time. As my Great Grandma NeNe used to say, It takes a man to make a man :)

MorganGrayson 2005-06-25 12:39 PM

Jim...if this is any comfort to you, I had toxaemia of pregnancy with all three kids. The third time it was the worst. I was totally bedridden and only allowed up to go to the doctor's three times a week for blood tests...to determine if they'd have to "take the baby" to save my life.

The "baby" in question is now 23-years-old; off-the-charts IQ; deadly wicked sense of humor; *employed,* save us all!...and due to her time helping me with my sites back in the day, one of the few non-adult site designers who understands "loading time." :)

None of the pregnancies were fun, but they all resulted in healthy babies.

Hang in there, Jim.

swedguy 2005-06-25 12:58 PM

Great to hear that your daughter is ok and her unborn is still an unborn :)

juggernaut 2005-06-25 01:31 PM

Good to see all is well Jim. Sleep sleep, you are getting very very sleepy. at the snap of my fingers you will no longer be able to use the computer for the weekend. *"SNAP"* ok well Jim wont be around for the rest of the weekend. Guess Monday will have to do lol.

MrYum 2005-06-25 01:37 PM

Sorry to hear about the scare Jim :(

5 months in bed is no small task...good thing she has a good dad looking out for her :)

Jim 2005-06-25 01:39 PM

There really is nothing more important than your children. When any of them need me, I'm there.

Rocco 2005-06-25 01:40 PM

good luck

Ya know, I realize that I don't appear to be a very sensitive person, but I am. I just don't get involved in online conversations that allow that part of me to come through. You are one of the very few people who mentions their children, and you mention them often and lovingly. I really respect that about, Jim. You are obviously a very caring and supportive dad.

jaYMan 2005-06-25 03:48 PM

I wish you were my daddy Jim. Hope the rest of your baby girls pregnency is uneventful ;)

Dirty Dough 2005-06-25 05:31 PM

I hope that everything goes well and wish the best of luck..
