I signed up with Big Hitters, was that a mistake?
 

A Co-worker tunred me onto Big Hitters and said he makes gangbusters off of it so I went to their site and they have a deal, $99 toy site activation, so I jumped on it along with a $165 advertising fee.

My advertising kicked in yesterday (supposedly) and I added a bunch of banners and such and I still have not had one sale in almost a month.

Should I wait a little longer or was this a bad business venture? Or do I simply need to do something I'm missing?

So basically you are saying that you paid $500 to have someone insert a script on a domain to pull one of the standard sites from PECash - which I guess if you do it that way you dont have to worry about learning html - but with a weeks practice you could have done the same without the middleman.
As far as sales - my gut feeling is that you are competing against some rather large players with a site that the SEs wont touch as its a dupe of 100s of other sites and you will have to do some major advertising yourself to sell anything.

You have to find ways of generating your own traffic to that site. I don't know if you are currently doing that or not. They may say that they're taking care of it for you but obviously not.

Do you have any type of traffic stats?

If you paid by CC I would contact them and try to get my money back. You can buy allot of html books for $500, shit you can even go to a local college and take a class. That's just me. Next time before you sign up for something you might want to take this little advice.
#1 search around on the company and see if there are any complaints about it IE BBB, message boards. etc
#2 sometimes people are such good salesmen that you feel you need to buy what they are selling right away. Don't! If its internet related leave the computer for a little while and really think about it, then refer to tip #1
#3 take your credit card and place it outside in your car. Having it close to you makes it to easy to pull it out and use it
#4 if a offer seems to good to be true, 99% of the time it is
#5 follow your gut, if you feel something, just 1 little thing seems fishy then start writing down questions to ask and don't pull out that card until they are all answered.
#6 if the person on the other end seems to be getting pissed that you are asking so many questions. Don't do business with them, they need your business more then you need theirs. There are plenty of places on the internet who will answer every question you have with a smile on their face till it turns blue, for $500.00
#7 if you really feel you need to spend the $500.0 contact me. My wife does cam shows and will surly give you your money's worth..

Stanteau...you got screwed...no other way to say it. The site you have there is almost an exact duplicate of the one I set up and run from pecash.

Definitely contact pecash directly to let them know what's going on with the company that screwed you. And do what you can to charge that shit back on your credit card...you were HAD!

Unless they're going to pump a buttload of decent traffic through your site for you...making sales is going to take a while. And you're going to have to generate traffic to that site. As Linkster mentioned...there's a LOT of competition in selling sex toys.

What everyone says above is true, however I expect you are stuck with you site. In that case I guess you want to make sales, in which case how many hits have you had? You are going to need thousands per day to make a little money out of this (and I mean a little money, if you want to make a reasonable profit out of this, a few thousand visitors a day won't do it, only a small fraction of 1% of the people who visit your site will actually buy anything).

I am guessing from the fact that you bought this site that you are new to this business, if so you really need to read up on ways to get surfers to visit your site. I would suggest you start by making free sites and submitting them everywhere, and also TGP posting. But do not expect this will make you money quickly, for example; make 1 free site every single day and submit it to all the major link lists, and it will still be a few months before you start making money.

One mistake you must not make is buying traffic to throw directly at this site. For every dollar you pay on traffic, expect to only get back 50c. Buying traffic (if from a reputable source) can make you a lot of money, but you have to know what you are doing and how to use it, just dumping it on the site will loose you money however good the traffic is.

Bottom line Yeah, you were ripped off when you paid for this, but if you cannot get your money back you can at least make some money out of it. But it is no free ride, and it will take work and time, say about a couple or three hours a day every day for the next few months. I suggest you start by reading through the articles on the various adult WM resource sites to learn about making free sites and TGP sites. And good luck, you made a mistake and wasted money, but there is no reason you should not turn this round and begin to makes some money. Think of it as paying for the first lesson in your education in this business, then knuckle down and make the money you lost back WITH INTEREST.

And hey dont let this get you down. Everyone makes mistakes. My first one cost me 5K, 2nd one lol almost 10K. 2nd one was my own doing but like everything else hind sight is 20/20. Start reading this board every day, night and free time that you have... #1 rule is don't buy anything till you start getting an idea of what it takes to make money in this biz. you can try adwords to your store but I did that for a long while and never really made much, sure I made google money and pe cash, but when I got done paying for clicks and there high in that field, I made really nothing, I also tried less popular keywords to certain toys or products and hardly got any clicks...

Sorry I disagree with Plateman, avoid adwords until you have a lot more experience. They can make you a lot of money, but you need to know what you are doing. If you use them now you stand to loose a lot more money. Wait awhile, when you have more experience use them, but for now avoid paying for advertising (and as someone who makes about 25% of their living selling website advertising, I will not often say that).

yes I agree avoid them, I was giving him an option - I made a little on it and learned some too, like when is a good time to run your ad and what were good months and what KW's to stay away from.. there are ways to make one of those stores workout.. but thats a whole new game that takes time

Another thing you might want to consider...Big Hitters probably signed you up under their PECash account...This means every time you make a sale they'll get a 2.5 - 5 % cut. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to put any more cash in their pockets.

You should re-sign up with PECash and rebuild your site. You can use the mini site frame plug-in to speed things up or maybe PECash would help you if you explained things to them.

Well I only paid $264 so I'm not out a whole bunch but I was really lookin foward to it, a co-worker of mine said he made $2,000 a month easily but as you've all noticed that's probably a scam.

I know this sounds naive but is there any true "kick back and get paid" type deal or would that take like a 10K investment.

And also I've had over 1,500 adviews a day

stanteau - I assume those adviews are on their stats which are more than likely rigged :(

there really isnt anything in adult where you can make an investment and just sit back - unless you have enough to start a program and have someone you completely trust not to run off with your money and have a few hundred thousand laying around - otherwise its just like any other startup - loads of hours at the start - for the first year or so and then down to maybe 12 hours a day after that :)

So what can I do right now to help my situation, if I become a nusiance just say but I'd really like this to work, I really banked on this.

If PE Cash files a law suit you will be out everything. If it were me I would just cut my losses and move on. There have been several good suggestions about what to do next already posted.

I heard of bighitters But I never joined. If you want to keep this up treat it like any other affiliate site. submit to tgp's and other stuff. you basicly paid money to join an affailate program. you are still responsible for genreating traffic or if oyu have deep pockets you can hire, but i really doubt it would be worth.

It is a scam, but it's no more of a scam than that ass-clown that wears those goofy glasses & question-mark jackets telling you how to get gov't grants - I'd bet that they did do everything that they promised you they'd so, but they overcharged you by about 10,000%.

And it's not just PE Cash - they can sign you up to Flynt Digital, CE Cash, Vivid & more - they can upload FPA's & splash pages & buy ads for you are very crappy places - you can do all this yourself & there's really no need to pay someone to do it.

These scumbags just prey on people that are gullible enough to believe that them spending 30 minutes filling out forms is worth $264 :(

stanteau - there are 100's of places that will offer help to you for free (your reading one of them now) Nothing is free & everyone pays for something (hosting, content, etc) but how much you pay and, in this case, how much you pay others to do what are basically normal everyday tasks for a webmaster, is what you have to watch out for.

I'd bitch up a storm with them - make then prove your money went to what they say it went to, but in the end, you'll probably end up with a $264 lesson in how to not do business :(

Again its the 'something for nothing' mentality that these sites cash in on. Sure you had to pay a fee, but if you are looking for somewhere where you can pay a few $ and instantly have sales flowing in you will get scammed time and time again.

Adwords, cpc, traffic brokers ... they all take lots of time and energy to master. There simply is no place I know of that will allow you to pay some cash to get sales flowing in to your sites. They would be doing it for themselves if it was so profitible.

Building your profit portfolio takes time and effort, and there simply is no shortcut. Be wary of sites pretending to provide a shortcut to sales. :)

(This does not necessarily mean you did not get the visitors they say, it is more likely they are either dumping unsellable traffic on you (eg surfers who do not speak English) or it comes from a pay per click company (where people are paid to visit your site, so do so with no interest whatsoever in buying, just visit as many sites as possible in as short a time as possible to get paid)).

Your best bet, if you have no idea what I am talking about, is to go to the index page of this site ( http://www.greenguysboard.com ) and scroll down to near the bottom where you will find a green table filled with links to other WM sites. Some of those sites contain tutorials, read through them. If those sites don't contain enough info for you then look for similar lists of WM sites on those sites for even more WM sites. If you do not understand some bits of the articles you read you can always come back here and ask someone to explain.

RE: "when the new bill comes" Are you saying that they charge you monthly ? If so copy the site to a new host and dump them, and push it on the new host. Don't pay the cheats more money.

Also, it will take more than a month to start making money, if you are going to "try it for a month", then give up now, you will only be wasting your time. You need a lot longer than a month before you can make a decision.

This sounds like another 090isp type operation.

Seriously dude - adjust your attitude - you make money in this game by working hard and long... there are some small shortcuts out there... but work, work, and work some more is what it takes regardless.
