Filthy Earl Mooooooving

Tomorrow, as in 10/26 (late afternoon/early evening)- Filthy Earl will be moving his filthy fucking links to another filthy fucking server. I'll put up a big fucking notice on the motherfucking submit page to warn submitters not to submit their goddamned links while Earl makes the cocksucking transition.

Whoring Wives has already been moved and seems to be quite happy and running smoothly at her new home.

That is all. Dismissed.

MrYum 2005-10-25 11:52 PM

Thanks |waves| When you change hosts 3 times per year like me, you get good at packing your shit and moving on.

I'm posting again, but I'm not really back. I doubt I'll ever be back. My loyalty is dead. I'm not part of this community anymore and I'm not sure that I care to be.

Jeez. Not good. I really hope you can get past this stuff.

I've only been here a short time, but to a new guy like me you are part of the establishment. So much great advice delivered in that er, unique style!

I have no clue who's making you feel unwelcome, but just remember when we get bored out of our minds building the 10,000th free site, we come to gg and jim looking for the last off-the-wall thing you've said.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, just like Woody Allen and Groucho Marx, I would never join a club that would have me as a member. ;)

Me loves you alls toos. |lovers|

I just have no love for..., ah fuck it, nevermind. |angry|

MrYum 2005-10-26 10:30 PM

It's cool UW...whatever it is...it's cool.

But, it's pretty freakin obvious the vast majority of this 'community' misses yer hairy ass :D

Hell, my gf who lurks on the board keeps asking me...where's UW???

Whatever those other issues are, please don't let them get in the way of your participating in OUR community :)

Well, as my father would say, if you can't beat them, beat them with a stick. So, I'm back - if even just to bug the shit out of those who would prefer to see me subdued. Right on, motherfucker! :D

BTW, Earl is really taking his sweet time on this move. The other two sites I moved a couple of days ago were really fast, but this one seems stuck. Seems that the propagation gods are against my move. Those cocksuckers.

Sweet!

Good to have ya back ya gnarly cocksucker :D

Good luck on the propagation...damn, I hate waiting for that shit to happen. If it seems too long...might want to check with your registrar to make sure something didn't hiccup with them. Had that happen with several domains a while back. Moved a few dozen domains to a new server, most were fine...8 were not. What a pain in the ass that was |angry|

Just goes to show you can't keep a GOOD cocksucker down!! |thumb

Welcome Back, UW. |lovers|

Useless 2005-10-27 08:47 AM

Well, fucking Earl and his filthy balls have still not propagated to the new host. On the other two that I had already moved (unannounced), I saw the IP change almost instantly, but Earl is stuck. If I don't see a change by this afternoon, I'm going to delete him off the current server and let that fucker 404 until the world finds its way to him. Every whois I pull shows him at his new home, but the IP I'm seeing is the old one. I haven't had this slow of a change in a couple of years. Wonder why...

Dr Bizzaro 2005-10-27 08:57 AM

You left?

Preacher 2005-10-27 11:09 AM

I doubt you'll be kicked out. It would be too noticable an absence and you are too well liked on the board. Dunno what the troubles are, but welcome back. |thumb

Oh and you are a cocksucker for never adding me to your ICQ! |angry|

The whois database is maintained separate from the root servers. So, apart from the display of the information, when you do a whois, it is totally irrelevent to when the root server update is done. Root server dns propogation is handed by your registrar. The root nameservers currently have the following info:

Code:

mcd@tsavo:~$ host -t ns filthyearl.com ns1.ucsd.edu
filthyearl.com              NS        ns1.skilledns.info
filthyearl.com              NS        ns2.skilledns.info

The reason that DNS may take a while to transition is that your local ISP caches the info. So, if you hit your local ISP and the root server hasn't been updated, DNS will fetch the record from the authority record. There are controls that are put on the record that give the servers information regarding cache times, etc.

Code:

                        1050709647        ;serial (version)
                        14640        ;refresh period (4 hours, 4 minutes)
                        3600        ;retry interval (1 hour)
                        604800        ;expire time (1 week)
                        86400        ;default ttl (1 day)
                        )

here's what your record looked like when you were hosted here. Remember that caching is done per hostname, not per domain, so, it is possible that http://filthyearl.com/ would have resolved sooner if it was not cached before the root server update and that http://www.filthyearl.com/ may have still seen the old IP. 24 hours is about the max that an IP would go unchecked by any cache, however, as with any other domain, it is up to the caching resolver what to do with it for up to 7 days. Most caching resolvers only look at the TTL, but, some large providers ignore those values and use their own settings.

Your registrar updates the root servers a few times a day, so, if they do an update at 5am, and you hit the domain at 4:59am, the dns would be cached for another 24 hours by your local ISP's nameserver. Many larger registrars nowdays push root server changes every 30 minutes. Some push root server updates in realtime.

I am honored that you think highly enough of my abilities to have power over other registrars and Internet Service providers around the world, but, that's simply not the case. I wish you good luck with your new hosting and I've credited your last month's payment back to your card.

I have also changed our nameservers and pushed the updates so that the domain points to the new IP as well. If you need anything else, please feel free to ask.

If that is not what you were insinuating in your post, then you have my sincerest apologies.

Chop Smith 2005-10-27 02:14 PM

Who wants to chat with a useless cocksucker anyway?

th3g4me 2005-10-27 10:44 PM

It didnt change for you or for every one? I do not understand? You need to clear your PC DNS log? ipconfig/flushdns or ipconfig/dnsflush then check TTL? Should be ok?

Useless 2005-10-28 08:09 AM

AND NOW MY USER/PASS ON MY OLD FUCKING HOST DOESN'T WORK - NEITHER DOES THE LOST PASS LINK.

DO PEOPLE REALLY HAVE TO FUCK WITH ME, JUST TO FUCK WITH? IS THIS SHIT NECESSARY? LET ME FINISH MY BUSINESS SO I CAN GO THE FUCK AWAY CHRIS.

cd34 2005-10-28 10:24 AM

I just tested the password recovery program. I never touched your password or account.

Oct 28 10:13:32 ns1 postfix/qmgr[2323]: 46BC9DF7E3: from=, size=973, nrcpt=1 (queue active)

It has gotten to hotmail.com. If it isn't getting further than that, you might check the spam box. Perhaps hotmail is tagging it as spam. If you still don't get it, hit me or Brian on ICQ and we'll reset it.

I've gone ahead and credited your credit card for all of the payments you made.

And by the way, if you give me the IP address for each of the domains, I would be more than happy to push those changes on our dns servers to help you out.

ICQ, Phone, PM, Email -- whichever method you want.

Useless 2005-10-28 04:01 PM

Thank you Chris. I apologize for my hostility. I'm melting down and I have no reason to take it out on you or suspect you of anything. You were always good to me. I don't know why my old pass isn't working, but the new one works great. Thank you.
