I've purchased content from xamo in the past and have been very satisfied. However, last week I tried to purchase some content and the online form was screwed and when I called two of the numbers (around noon pacific time) I got voice mail. Needless to say I hesitate to return if a valued customer gets that kind of service.

Surfn, You are correct, we did have some tech difficulties; things like this will happen when you move your data center. However all problems are in the process of being finalized.

No, Surfn, I am not a spammer. I did not write this post. It is just someone's idea of a joke. If I see someone posting things of interest, I contribute. If they are talking about something I am familliar with, I will join in the conversation. If they are looking for content, and I have something that they are looking for, then I post my info. Ounique, I wrote to you and asked you to contribute something to the board other than trying to make a buck from someone elses work. You told me you watched board tracker and replied when you could sell your product. I asked you to just give use 100 pictures for our webmasters to use and you said for some reason that I can't remember, you could not.

I told you to keep your posts to the spam forum. After all... 99.9% of your posts are spam. We have nothing against you, just we warn once...the second time, gets a little different.

Hmm, then who did? You can post any time you like. I just won't buy anything if you are the one who posted what looked like your post.

Let me reiterate...he was warned to not post on the general forum.
You know we warn the first time and react the second.
This board will never be a haven for spammers or people that just look for keywords to sell their product. Would you rather have it that way?
Anyway...I didn't change the post so I really have nothing more to say about it.

One more thing...If people add to the forum constructively, we have no problem with selling their product and or service. But, as I said, 99.9% of his posts were jumping on a thread where content was mentioned.

And now I see the post is gone...maybe I should go back to the couch :)

Ounique was warned - TWICE - if my memory serves me correctly. Those that now me know that I don't take this shit laying on my back.

We are all here to help each other, not just ourselves.

I'm surprised that no one caught on that it was me that edited the post, since I did it so often on my board at ANS :D

i'm curious... when i post on a board asking where i can find content, i like all the answers i can get that are accurate. it helps me save time and make money.

why is it a problem if it's answering other people's requests to know where to find certain kinds of content?

basschick - there's a difference between answering a question & contributing to the board.

99.44% of the people that post here do so to learn as well as to help others.

Some people just post for the sake of posting.

Some people just post regarding their program/product.

This was the case with Ounique. Jim spoke to them twice about their posting practices - hell, they even admitted that they search for "content" on Board Tracker & then spam their site.

We asked that they please not post in the General Forum if their topics were going to always be about their product.

We even said that we'd bend the rules if they donated 100 pics to our webmasters. 100 measly fucking pictures!!!! They could not even do that for you, the webmasters thay are trying to sell content to.

Ounique's posts, while at times may look to be helpful, are there for one reason & one reason only - to promote Ounique's products.

I've been on the boards for many years now and I don't remember even one post for Ounique on any board that wasn't just a spammy sounding post about his content. I personally find it annoying when I only see posts from someone promoting their stuff.

I personally have no problem with a spammer's post being deleted or edited in a humors way. I knew what had been done right away and knew that it was a post that had been edited because of spam.

BTW: I thought it was the funniest thing that I have seen in awhile. :D

There was no reference to "Buddy Christ"..
There were no dancing bananas...

Did I post in the wrong forum? Perhaps the post should have been in "Products and Services".

As is normal for our board, I did get some helpful replies and established some good new contacts. Not to put my business on the street but those content that were so helpful to me will get a few extra thousand within the next 30 days. They all owe this to GGandJim. It was like doing business the old fashion way. One even offered to provide me with about $4k of content and pay for it when the site was completed. Means lots to a 2yr newbie.

Chop Smith - no, you are not at fault - this was going to eventualy happen, regardless of you starting the thread or not :)

Good, I am careful not to offend anyone. As I have stated before, I appreciate the help you and Jim have given me in the past. I have follow ya'll for a couple of years now. As you know I do not post on the board very much but I do read it each day and absorb all the knowledge that I can. It has meant much to me.

Since I had done some business with Don, I emailed him before I made the post. Giving him the benefit of the doubt, maybe the post the his first reply was made before he checked his email. But his post was his standard reply. I think surfn's thread contains the exact reply. He did email after the fact. He could have gotten a big order. Big for me.

Close this thread. It is a dead issue. He will survive and we will also.

Second, As long as people offer something to this community, we have no problem with people selling their products. We have content people as sponsors and if the only thing another provider is going to do is watch the board for the word content and then jump on it for their benefit, we will stop it.

We let this person get away with it for about 10 posts before the first warning. He was then told to only post in the products and services forum. We even offered them the opportunity to give our webmasters some content in return for their posts. They declined.

GG has explained to me what happened. I'll resume my obnoxious posts. |santa|

I am 100% behind Jim, GG, Cleo, MML, on this one... and as a Mod I would delete half the suspect posts on the spot... but I let lots of spammy stuff slide..

Spammers know as they hit the "submit" button that deletion/editing/banning is a risk they take.. thats how they do biz. :(

Community and Input is what it is all about.. and to me that is not a hard concept to grasp..

What DD said about deleting stuff. This isn't my board so I don't delete, move, or mess with a lot of stuff, especially if I see the owners online in my ICQ.

I am so confused, I thought you were all calling me stupid, which I can be at times. I was just trying to defend the board against spammers in my own (obviously inept) way. |sad|

Since I had already prepared this to post - here it is just a little late.

Surfn you can not leave. I think you are confused about what happened. Yesterday morning I checked the Don's initial reply, which was his standard wording, was there. A few mintues later, you ICQ to say someone had sh__ on my thread and you attempted to set him straight. I returned to board and found the changed reply and assumed that he was on medication and laughed about it. I think your confusion is a result of you not seeing the original post by Don.

As I expressed to you in the chat we just completed, you are a valuabe poster in this community and all of this crap should not come between members of our community. We both came from the same board in April and know this a good thing going on here. Let's just all stick together.

If there is a problem between you and other members of the board, the best thing is discuss it with them in private. Reslove it and get back to posting. That way we will all benefit.

If I ran this board, I would have acted on Don's replies to post. Especially, since he did on advertise on the board and other content providers do. What would have gotten me hot would have been his refusal to donate a 100 pictures. Hell he has sets that contain a 100 pictures priced under $10. If I was Greenguy and Jim, I would feel like he was saying F____ you.
