Happy Thursday - Good Bye August

Morning |waves|

Watched 2 movies last night - and this will really show how far behind the current pop-culture trends I am - V For Vendetta was really fucking good & Derailed was a little predictable, but decent none-the-less.

Fantasy Football drafts are coming up & I have to do some prep work - one Friday, one Saturday |thumb

Mom & Gran are coming over for dinner tonight, the Bills are playing a pre-season game in Detroit & I have to watch Big Brother. Busy Busy Busy :D

Fonz 2006-08-31 07:41 AM

Morning,

Damn this month flew by.
Mailman just dumped The 4400 - Season 2, Underword & Underworld - Evolution in the mailbox.
Going to soccer practice for the first time this year. Our first game is this Saturday but I know I'm so good that I only need 1 practice session to get back at the same level I was last season :D

Have a good day all :)

Simon 2006-08-31 07:58 AM

Good morning world |waves|

Still very gray, dreary and rainy here. Seems the storm has some huge cloud patterns swirling around it and that crap will be here for days yet. The five-day storm track shows it going onshore in South and North Carolina today and then heading across land to get up into Canada, so some of you will be getting what we have.

A great day to all. Time to go read some old threads that got bumped. :D

docholly 2006-08-31 08:05 AM

Morning ..
no clue why i'm up so freaking early..considering the time i got in yesterday.. but eh.. wtf...

2nd day of school registration is today..yesterday was HS, today is for his community college classes. fun fun fun... and then off for the final day of my very long dreary boring statistical conference.

So hope Mrs |greenguy| is healing nicely.. and likewise Linkster..

Anyone up for a freaking hog roast??? |waves| have a good one.

terry 2006-08-31 08:42 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Can you believe we are on the last day of August? Man where did the month go?

Have a great day!

Jim 2006-08-31 08:44 AM

Morning
Our scheduled power outage last night that was supposed to be from 9 pm until 10:30 PM actually was from 9 until 11:30. My DVR gave out just after an hour and 3 mins.

Anyway, end of the month is always busy. So, I'll most likely be busy. Expect a few new sponsors tomorrow :)

cd34 2006-08-31 08:47 AM

I was reading a news article last night on Tropical Storm Ernesto, and the Banner flying on the page was advertising vacations in Ft. Lauderdale. Today, I follow Simon's link and they are advertising cruise ships (Google adsense). Ahh, contextual advertising. Mention the word Tropical & caribbean on the page and google goes to work.

Speedy recovery to Linkster and Mrs. Greenguy and hugs to Digifan.

work work work work...

DocHolly, don't forget to look into its beedy little eyes as you eat it -- then you are devouring its soul. I believe Gary Busey said that. :)

Cleo 2006-08-31 08:59 AM

Morning everyone :)
Nice and sunny here but that is expected to change by this afternoon.

Just a day of work planned but who knows what the day may actually bring.

bluemoney 2006-08-31 08:59 AM

Good Morning |waves|

Linkster 2006-08-31 09:13 AM

Good morning all - the operation evidently went well - what I ended up having is called an angioplasty - basically they go in through the femoral artery in your leg with a catheter and look to see what is blocked and needs help. In my case my entire right side main artery out of my heart was blocked so they installed 3 stents in the artery to force it open and increase the blood flow to the places its supposed to go :) Seems to have completely gotton rid of the angina I was having - I couldnt walk to the mailbox without taking nitro to relieve the pressure on the heart.
Im home now with my 3 dogs and 4 cats and they were really happy to see me :) Basically Im really not supposed to drive for a few days and do much of anything so I will be on the computer most of the time - at least till the closure they put on my femoral artery heals so I dont bleed out LOL

Thank you so very much for the well wishes - it was wonderful to see when I came in this morning - now Im off to clean up a few pet "mistakes" and get some coffee to jump start the body out of its morphine induced haze

Fonz 2006-08-31 09:18 AM

Ah...the sun is shining, the birds are singing, those cocksucking dogs are barking at the fucking neighbors - the morning is simply grand. One more week and the kids will be back to school and I'll be back to work. Life is but a dream.

Happy Thursday morning ... only reason I am here so early is Bluebrit made me breakfast in bed! woot Forgave him for waking me up :D Wasnt for any special reason either..

Hope you recover nice and fast Linkster.. sounds like you are well on your way.

Morning all.

I am still alive, which means I have to work, thanks to Ernesto for being nothing more then hype.

Today we went on a bike ride and then did a little cleanup in the yard and now it's time to work and get ready for the NCAA Football games tonight since it is finally kickoff day.

Not much planned this weekend other then work and football and the FFL tomorrow night.

Nice to see all went well Linkster, now don't overdo yourself or that leg. Wish you a speedy recovery!

LOL at UW |loony|

PS
Part of that storm moved here I am sure, the winds are heavy and loud, I keep thinking I am hearing voices from here and there... huh, it is silly.

JustRobert 2006-08-31 12:16 PM

Good morning to all :)

Best wishes go to Linkster. Take care of yourself and hopefully for you this is all that you need. Follow your doctors advice! My father has had 3, then a shunt inserted followed by a cleaning of that one before they replaced that one with a new and improved one which seems to be doing fine. Not to scare you but my fathers first heart attack was at your age 11 years ago. Almost killed him, but thankfully his co workers did not listen to him and called an ambulance. 5 minutes after arriving at the hospital the second one hit which was much bigger. If he was still at his office he would have never made it. Reminds me, I need to call my Dad today!

carol.prime 2006-08-31 01:29 PM

Have a nice day to all of you. It's Friday now, first day of September. It's going to be a really busy month. Got lots of bills to pay: from credit cards to electric bill. All due at the 5th of September. Goodluck to me! :)

bluemoney 2006-08-31 03:04 PM

Best wishes to you Linkster!

PS. Don’t bogart the morphine

stuveltje 2006-08-31 03:13 PM

WarBot 2006-08-31 04:11 PM

Yes! Good bye August, possibly the worst month of my entire life. Except for July which was slightly worse. Then there was June which makes August look like a wet dream. Ugh... somebody shoot me. No wait, skip that... it would probably just graze my spinal chord and paralize me from the waist down.

Anyways, Cheers
WB

Guess I get to run over and buy another keyboard since I seemed to have killed yet another one spilling water on it last night.

Using my laptop's built-in keyboard right now but I normally use a keyboard in my lap plugged into it.

Since it was bottled water this keyboard will probably dry out and start working again but I need a working keyboard today.

Not to scare you !

Actually I had my first one at work quite a few years ago - they conviently arranged for an early retirement buyout for me - since then Ive been doing well as I did follow the Docs advice - ya know - no partying late hours, no whooping it up with wild women etc - so Ive been real good for the last 5 years |couch|

Really only bothered me lately when I had outside work to do and just in the last 3 weeks or so I started getting the sign pains again - thats why I went ahead and checked myself in early :) So I wouldnt check out

|thumb Most of us men are stubborn and ignore those signs.

Heart disease runs in my family on my fathers side. He is the first male to the 60 year mark in 5 generations. Medical advances surely helped. Youngest was my uncle at 48. Overweight and high stress position with the FBI probably helped. Best thing that happened to my father was retirement 2 years ago. Instead of sitting behind a desk 12 hours a day he putters on his house and other projects almost everyday. His recent check ups have been the best in the past 5 years.

Ooops - in case any mods see this - I just reported a spammy post that I *thought* was on the main board, but now appears to be in this month's new member thread. I may be losing what's left of my mind.

Not sure about the state of your mind other then to say mine seems to be faster. :D

Wow this new keyboard feels nice. It feels like so new. Kind of like my old one but with that new key feel.
