Good Early Sunday Morning

Morning
Today is the day Nintendo wii's go on sale. They go on sale at 3:00 AM EST at Amazon. And, in case I don't get a couple there, I will be off to Toys R Us, Walmart, Kmart...etc later this morning. It reminds me of the days when we didn't have much money and stayed up all night Thanksgiving to go Christmas shopping on Black Friday. Stores would open at about 5:00 AM.

Anyway, I am up and I have about 15 mins before they go on sale. Wish me luck. :)

Cleo 2006-11-19 03:18 AM

What the fuck are you doing up at 3:18 in the morning?

Oh wait I'm the one just getting home.

Never mind…

SheepGuy 2006-11-19 04:01 AM

Hey, I haven't gone to bed yet either,, but since it's 4:00 am in my corner of the planet, sounds like a plan.
Good night and Good morning all ;)

Jim 2006-11-19 05:04 AM

I have been hitting reload on Amazon since 3:00
The fuckers sent out an email last week saying these stupid things would go on sale at midnight PST. And they are still not up there. I just spoke to someone at Amazon and they said it would be sometime this morning. I ordered one elsewhere for $550 as a safety net. But if I get the $250 model from Amazon, I will cancel the other order.

Jim 2006-11-19 05:16 AM

About 550 reviews (comments as of now) from people doing the same as me.

If you get me one, I will forever be in your debt :)

Good morning world |waves|

Same here, Jim, all I see is "item unavailable" so far.

Nice cool day again here, about 61 degrees this morning, so it's coffee outside with last night's Comic Relief playing in the background. So far my two favorite performers were Sarah Silverman and Dane Cook, but I've only seen/heard about half of the show so far.

A good Sunday to all.

:)

Licker4U 2006-11-19 07:22 AM

Ok, I'm up...

Good day of football yesterday. Auburn beat Alabama for the 5th time in a row. That's never happened, by anyone. Michigan almost got Ohio State and Cal couldn't upset USC, damn. And Ole Miss barely lost to LSU in OT, double damn.

Coffee's ready, grab a cup...

Jim 2006-11-19 07:26 AM

I just ran to our local walmart and saw they had 20 that went on sale at midnight. So, I went to the broken down Kmart that has almost been put out of business by New York State's Largest Walmart and they have a sign saying they have 15 and they open at 8:00. Nobody is in line :) I am on my way and I am going to be buying all 15 if I am able.

If I get more than 1 Simon, I will let you have one at cost. But, I fully expect a line when I get there. It's about 40 degrees here and I will not be standing in line with only 15 available.

Jim 2006-11-19 08:32 AM

Back from Kmart and the sign that said they had 15 Wiis turned into a sign saying they had none. 8 of us didn't believe them and when we got in, they said they had 1. It was raffled off and of course, I lost :)

Still hitting reload on Amazon

docholly 2006-11-19 08:41 AM

Morning:
Football, grocery store and bears this morning ..that's about it. My partner will be at our new store wiring today.. and one of the things he's doing is going to be rigging a "Live Bear Cam" ..once a cam ho, always a cam ho.

Now if i could just get rid of this 45 degrees, life would be better.

:D This thread reminds me of the Atari days when my oldest son was young..of course it was Manhattan and people had their chauffer's wait in line while they sat double parked in their limos. It was also the "Crazy Eddie" days (i think he's still hiding somewhere for stealing 50 million from his own company) so even if it was supposed to go on sale at midnight, if you knew somebody or had an extra 100.00 you could get yours as they came off the truck. It was (((INSAAAAANNNNNEEEEE))))

hmmm I wonder if Cartman got his??? |huh

Have a good one.. and best -o- luck on the hunt for the elusive Wii. |roses|

lorsha 2006-11-19 08:51 AM

have a great day everyone! |bananna|

emmanuelle 2006-11-19 09:03 AM

Good morning!

Up here people lined up overnight, some for several nights. I think the trick is to hire a homeless person to hold your place for you. In any case, no toy is worth freezing your ass off for, or having to seek out porta-potties. There will be more of them, I promise :-)

terry 2006-11-19 09:10 AM

Good Morning Everyone!

Good luck Jim, Im a huge Nintendo fan and the wii is a killer machine. I will not however wait in the cold or any size line up to get one.

Have a great day!

Jim 2006-11-19 09:32 AM

Amazon just sucks...that's the only answer.
No chance to pre-buy like I did when xbox came out. They send an alert saying they are going on sale at midnight PST and still, nothing. Everytime you call them, you get a different answer. One answer was, they will go on sale within a half hour. The next was, they will go on sale 9 AM EST. The next answer was, they will go on sale 9 AM PST.

Everyone else (bestbuy, toysrus, target...etc) let everyone know how many they had and the exact time they went on sale. Sears online is bad too. If you go to their site, they say they have them in stock, they let you add it to your cart and when you click checkout, they let you know they are sold out.

sue-fl 2006-11-19 09:32 AM

Morning!

Went to Target last night to get some ornaments for my tree. There were lots of people and tents lined up, so good luck Jim! There is always Ebay if you want to pay triple what it's worth |thumb

Nothing but football for me today, if I don't fall asleep first. I stayed up most of the night decorating my house for Christmas|crazy|

Enjoy your Sunday all!

sue-fl 2006-11-19 09:38 AM

Jim, just checked Ebay and they have a lot of them, the prices go anywhere from 300 and up though!

Mornin' y'all,

Another 'take it easy' day scheduled. Football most of the day, then this evening the neighbor needs some help getting the remnants of his iPod software off of his PC. Whenever he does a cold reboot the iPod gets added to the boot device list in his CMOS, dropping the RAID array off the list entirely. iPod software has been uninstalled but the problem persists. Moral of the story, "Don't fruit the PC!" Man Law! |thumb

|coffee is on, help yourself

I'm vertical…
Good morning perverts :)
Not a lot going on today. Doing the gym and then will probably just spend the rest of the day working.

Morning all -
Not sure what list I'll be working on today - the needs to be done, should be done, or could be done.

Good luck Jim! -

I'm thinking they went online & sold out instantly & now they're just giving you the run-around in hopes you'll stay on the site & buy something else (like a used Sega Dreamcast)

Good Football Sunday Peoples |buddy|

Of course, yesterday was pretty good as far as Football goes - great game between Ohio & Michigan - I didn't think there would be that much scoring. Congrats to NoFroBro, who I know is still drunk :D

I ended up working ALL DAY yesterday - I did take 30 minutes & go thru mu fantasy hockey crap - but fuck me, even after all that work I did yesterday, I still have a pile of shit to do - but fuck it - it's Sunday!

My ass is heading down to the Pool House to watch the Lo-Def CBS broadcast of the Bills/Texans game on my plasma TV |thumb

Just switch to a Fruit computer and no more problems.

Damn, I could really use a few days rest. Too bad there is no time between partying and working for rest.

Have a great day everyone...I'm going to!

jenni 2006-11-19 03:40 PM

Finally had a chance to take down the Halloween decorations and put the Christmas ones up.

Jim - I heard that the employees of the stores were buying all the Nintendo Wii before the stores were even open - which means there was none left for the people standing in the lines. Same thing happened for the PS3.
