Ok, while it is technically Friday here, I have no yet gone to bed, but since Jim's been starting threads in the middle of the night & since The Bitch is sitting in a Best Buy (sorry DrB) parking lot waiting for them to open at 5, I thought it'd be ok to start the "Friday Thread" :)

The Bitch did not start out the day expecting to be sitting overnight in a parking lot - her girlfriend did, and she's currently 2nd in line to get into Best Buy so that she can buy a PC for $179 (I hope she buys hamster food while she's there) When I found this out, I asked to see the ad so that I could see the specs on this lovely machine & while I was looking thru the many useless things they have on sale, one caught my eye: The Pioneer Inno XM Satellite Radio

I have one of these (paid $400 for it 4 months ago) They have it for $299 with a $50 instant rebate & a $50 mail in rebate. They are also throwing in a $30 XM Gift Card, the car installation kit ($70) & the antenna headphones ($40) So my fucked-up math tells me that it's only $60 :D

So, since we were thinking aobut getting one of these for my step-daughter, off she went |crazy|

It's an in-store special, but if you want one, you can get one for $180 here - it is a really sweet piece of technology!

So anyway, The Bitch is in a mall parking lot, I'm home alone & awake for some strange reason, so I thought I'd catch-up on the board & maybe get started on Friday's work |thumb

Around here, all the big-box retailers are getting really aggressive on their bargains today which means the stores and roads should be packed with people waiting in lines. I can see walmart's financials:

"We lose money on every sale. How do we stay in business? Volume, Volume, Volume!"

Hope everyone had (is having) a great Turkey Day and a productive Black Friday.

We went to WalMart today, talking to the various clerks who all have to be to work by 4am tomorrow, because they have sales from 5am to 11am. Since they are basically the only game in town, no way I'm going there, lol.

I'm hoping black friday is a good day for online sales too. Started a sale on my ebay store, and put up like 110 listings for products. Hope they all come buy.

Greenie, sounds like a great deal! And if she is 2nd in line, sounds like she is going to be getting one. It isn't Friday here yet, but I'm still up working online here.

Ok, I noticed this thread an our after I logged in again, that's what you get when you're used to seeing the good morning threads at 1 PM I guess :)

I hope all you North Americans (don't know if Canada has it) had a great thanksgiving.

I went to a stripclub yesterday with a collegue of mine. It was pretty empty so we left after an hour or so.
I'm going snowboarding again tonight. Hopefully I'll keep all my limbs intact.

Before working online, we used to do Black Friday every year. We would stay up all night and be in line for the crazy sales. It was a part of Thanksgiving tradition that I am happy we broke. Even when we had much less money, we still spent too much on Christmas. I guess that happens when you are an only child with parents with quite a bit of money. And a Mother that was even more excited about Christmas than I have been. :)

Anyway, Thanksgiving was great and of course, everything was cooked to perfection :) The biggest thing about Black Friday is the real countdown has begun...Only 31 Days Until Christmas. :)

That became my motto when I moved 100 miles away from any malls or big stores. Just can't drive that far to stand in line. So far I haven't missed that part at all.

Yeah, and I hear Sparky is going to start trading bandwidth futures so you can get some of that 20 cents/gig pricing for next July too.

I think my "mall" is the only one NOT opening at 5am here. We have our usual hours of 10-6 but since this is my 2nd year I pretty much know what to expect. It constantly amazes me that people actually wait for today to shop and sit in the parking lots.

1000 people in line at Best Buy last night by midnight. |loony|

When camming my most profitable days were T'giving, black friday and Xmas day. Hopefully this still carries over and everyone has 'tidal waves' of $$ today. Should be called greenie friday. |greenguy|
