We've got this site that works geo-targeted and I want to know if everything works ok.

Could you please go to http://www.thisislive.com , click around a little bit and tell me what language(s) you get standard, if you see any serious errors, etc.

I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me where you're located and what language you're getting on that site.

Looks good here, default was Belgium, clicked US and all was good.

Thanx so far, docholly and DD, in what language/country did the site came up before you picked a country out of the drop down list?

I'm from Serbia and my default page was telling me to "Toevoegen aan favorieten"... not exactly sure which language is that.

Here in Dirty Undies, NY - it's defaulting to Belgie and the language is Dutch.

Maybe your geo-targetting knows where I'd rather be. ;)

Came up as Belgie. When I switched to USA, the right sidebar switched and the rest of the site went blank.

Hey Fonz! When I went to the site it was in Belarus. I clicked USA from the drop down box and it switched quickly for me. Good luck |thumb

Not sure what language this is but I'm pretty sure it isn't English but then again I haven't had my morning espresso yet.

Despite the dropdown menu already saying USA I was able to get English by choosing United States from it.

Default was Belgium, when I clicked UK I got English. Everything else I clicked from then on was in English.

South Florida, USA, using Safari and Firefox browsers on Mac OS X...

"Land:" says U.S.A. when I first get there, but on the right side "nl" is the selected language. The page seems to have a mix of language, mostly not English ("Toevoegen aan favorieten Er zijn 49 camgirls online!! Een vraag? Contacteer ons."), but the footer with copyright, 2257 info, etc. is in English. Same things when I clicked through to some cam pages and got the login page.

Once I clicked "en" once for language everything was in English no matter what page I visited.

Default Belgium clicked English and everything looks ok in Arizona

There is an accept-language header in the http requests of browsers which gives their language preferences. You could also use that to set the preliminary pageview to more closely match the surfer.

I get it in English when I pick Mexico.

Ok, so far Mexico is the only country the geo target thing works like it should, seems we (me and the guys I work with) have got a lot of work to do.

And to think the default language for Mexico is set to English since we don't have spanish (yet) :D

dont you love the Dutch Language:D and believe me Belgium language is different then dutch (belgies, i even dont know how to write that in dutch) oke Stu<-- has to go back to school for dutch writing too, i wonder what i have learned when i did school?

btw nederlands in ie7 en firefox, werkt allemaal perfect voor mij dan:) ook als ik een duitse of een aussi language aantikt

Hmmm... you're right about that. It was the same guy who hacked the site for the Belgian army last week. The techs are on it.
