The "God Hates Fags" nuts are coming to town :)
 

You have probably seen these nutbags from the Westboro Baptist Church. They have the signs that say, "God Hates Fags", "God Hates America" and a bunch more and they like to protest soldiers funerals. Anyway, we had a local kid die in Iraq and of course the local news has made a really big deal out of it. The funeral and protesters will be local tomorrow.

It would be awfully nice if those bums at Directnic would kill that domain.

There is a documentary on HBO about them. They think god is paying everyone back with IEDs because someone once tried to blow up their church. :)

And the same as on the documentary, a local motorcycle group will be there with their pipes facing the protesters reving their engines. Tricky driving in the snow. :)

I've always been amazed at how well Ron interacts with her. He really knows how to bring out the best/worst in that crazy woman while not getting himself worked up about it. I'd bet that very few people could let her rant on like that while sitting back, puffing on a cigar, and acting like there's nothing insane about what she's saying. Yet somehow, that's how he proves exactly how nuts she is. It's what I like to call, Radio Gold.

Here in the UK the BBC showed a documentary on the Westboro lunatics called 'The Most Hated Family in America'. At the end I don't think they came out of the documentary with a single redeeming quality.

I remember seeing that, unbelievable how smug they were like they knew better.

Agree with you totally Bob, another thing that seemed a bit sinister to me was the way they were encouraging the kids there to say outrageous sound bites to the camera. Not sure if that was due to the camera's being there, but it was bit creepy.

We have church radicals around here too. Well, radical is overstating it. I remember one protest I saw on television. It was so friendly church mothers and their kids were giving out free cookies to guys going into a strip joint they were protesting. That was the protest. These friendly protesters got their point across much more effectively by not being despicable assholes. I like tits and ass but I couldn't find it in me to hate these protesters. The protest bordered on cute and it got its point across without offending.

Could always create a kind of porn church, instead of a cross or statue we could have a naked slut holding an affiliate cheque with sermans by the Reverand MrMaryLou and singing hyms like "Thy conversions are thy bread" and "does thou link tradeth".

Now these idiots are planning on picketing Heath Ledger's funeral.

We have a friend that a Marine Cop and he has to play security at Marine funerals. It's a good thing that most of our soldiers in Iraq right now.

You have a dozen marines coming out to pay respect to dead soldier and people are disrespecting that man's life. It's pretty hard to maintain control.

Yesterday the news said there would be almost 100 State Police providing security. Today's news didn't mention the nutbags. Maybe they decided not to come. :)

Just an update...they never did show up. The bikers were there as well as the cops. But, the crazies decided Heath Ledger's funeral was more important. :)

On that note, I can't believe how many people think that his death was the result of doing Brokeback Mountain. Just god's paypack.

I didn't pick up on this from the mainstream news, I heard it on Howard Stern, that weeks before Falwell died he mentioned to CNN's Christine Amanpour that he was praying for 20 more years on this earth to further God's will. Weeks later he was dead.
