The word L0lita
I wanted to ask about this and thought that you all would have a better explanation/reasoning than anywhere else.
I know the word l0lita is frowned upon for adult, but what if its in reference to a nickname or celeb... one in particular - "Amy Fisher the Long Island L0lita" - would it still be a no-no? Using it in that context would it get banned? Blacklisted? Accepted? Rejected? |

That was helpful Cleo, thanks. |thumb
Sorry if this is old news for some, Im just trying to get a better understanding for it. |
The billers won't touch you, if that helps. And most sponsor... will ban your account in fear that they are profiting from the term, which clearly eludes to under age girls.
|
Im talking about one specific person.. Amy Fisher - who has been deemed the "Long Island L0lita" - what is the consensus in using that term in full...

sorry youre having a bad day Cleo, or at least thats how its coming off.

What do you want to hear?
The word is basically banned everywhere including this board. |
I understand the word alone is banned especially when describing teens or younger (legal) models, I was referring to it being used in a given nickname - a nationally known nickname. I know the word alone is banned... I was trying to find out in regard to the full context use of it Amy Fisher - The Long Island L0lita - thats all. I didnt need links to wikipedia, or a dead horse comment, Im asking for actual answers, I mean after all this is what the board is for yes? To learn, bounce ideas, understand whats going on in Adult, and get the views of perhaps more knowledgeable webmasters.

The word is banned. It doesn't matter what words you put around it.

Thank you for the answer Cleo. Was all I was after.

I never would have guessed that Amy Fisher would have looked that good today. Her husband is a goon, but she looks almost good enough to get past the fact that she's a total loon. If I was him, I'm put a metal detector on the bedroom door. |

Just typing the word on your keyboard means that Google have logged your details and the Feds are already bugging your phone and sifting through your garbage :D |
I for one wouldn't know that was some "well known" "title" of Amy Fisher. That word scares everyone in the industry, so my guess is yes, your site won't be accepted anywhere (or almost anywhere) and is likely to get you banned at some places. Is that site really worth the risk?
|
I remember that movie and watched it, hollywood movies can use the term or a book, but with what we do it's banned and if you read most sponsor's tos a lot of other words are banned also one's you would never think were that bad

That being said, I was very tempted to market that site using "The Long Island ******" in my text - and I think I might have even had that text online for a few hours before I altered it to something like "The Long Island L*lita" I then removed all the text as well as the ad itself because it was not converting...which might be the best advice in this thread :D |

On top of all the other reasons listed, it is only somewhat known in the US, or by fans of Shelley Winters (who had a starring role in a film by that name, but not as the main character). We have several words in the American English language that are not appropriate under any circumstances. Use of them can cost jobs, freedom, huge sums of money donated to lawyers, or any combination of those three plus more. For a free site? Are you kidding me? In my book, Amy Fisher was always the Long Island Loser or the Long Island PopTart. Not really worth the time and effort to risk even a dime over.

I'm working on a Toystore . CCbill was taking some time to approve my video backend. Couple weeks later I got the email saying there was a reference to the said term on the front end. I didn't catch it because I loaded the cart items via excel assuming that the vendor did his due diligence. Well the point I'm trying to make is CCbill took the time to surf through a few thousand items to find the "one"term. So It is a very bad word to use in this industry. I'm lucky I didnt have to go in for a DNA sample for the screw up. How would that be like ???

Can you imagine the poor girl that gets given this name these days.

hey, I just had one this week in the office. Poor thing could not pay her child support. Now we are looking for her to go before the judge. Bad enough to have the name.. now it gets dragged into court and public records.

I wanted answers, thats why I come to the board..well that and all the awesome smileys :) But seriously, I didnt post any harmful material..just a simple question...nothing inflammatory..just a question. And I appreciate all the discussion. And the answers.
