Morning All! (Tuesday Edition)

Morning Board!

I have a stupidly long todo list of stuff to work on today, including interviewing a bondage webmaster/photographer and fixing an archaic php script for a client.

FUN TIMES |bananna|

Twiceshy 2008-08-05 07:17 AM

Good Morning i think :). I have a long list of stuff todo today as well. Unsure how much of it will actually get done. Coffee is on let the day begin.

Good Morning and Happy Tuesday Everyone!

Good Morning,

Today looks just like yesterday. Nothing going on except work. :(

Have a fabulous money making day everybody!

dareutwo 2008-08-05 07:56 AM

Morning all -
Nothing new here.
Have a good day!

Cleo 2008-08-05 07:56 AM

Finally went to the doctor yesterday and it turns out that I have a lung infection so he put me on a respirator in his office to open things up and then gave me a script for a Z-Pak. I seem to be feeling a whole lot better already.

Just another uneventful day spent at home making the porn planned on this rainy day.

FanTC 2008-08-05 08:00 AM

Good Morning!

Smoking the appetizer while I debate whether to have a seafood omelette or eggs with my sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits, and hash browns.

Gonna be a long ass day round here as I have to go to court later this afternoon. Couple of weeks ago I was tooting on a number and walked across my yard and stepped in another steaming pile of dog shit that was left by that retard down the road's mutt.
I came back in, cleaned my foot, rolled another joint and headed his way.
I was mid shit on his fucking porch when he comes out the door raising hell so I picked up a club of wood and popped him.
Sat in the county jail for a couple of hours and made bail, so today I'm gonna get a continuance on the assault. vandalism, and possession charges and plot revenge.

Have a shit-free day!

docholly 2008-08-05 08:09 AM

Morning.. heading out to DC tonight.. get in around 10am tomorrow and hopefully I'll remember enough about DC to get up to Georgetown by 2pm.
We are staying on campus |bananna| for 2 days while they wine and dine my SMART son and try to convince him that GT is the place to be.

After this weekend he is really leaning toward GA Tech but he's a teenager..that will change. Wait till he sees NYU and all the homeless in Washington Square park. That'll be a deal clincher. |loony|

Oh and had dinner with the ex last night.. it was actually civil and he invited himself to go on the rest of our little train tour across America. |jester|

|waves| Have a good one!!

Not much on the agenda for today. I did start to gather my crap for the upcoming Fantasy Football seasons. Since I'm busy with a lot of offline events over the next few weeks, I have to get my stats & players in order when I have some free time....and there's no better free time than 2 days before a 4 day weekend |bananna|

Good morning world |waves|

I'm glad to hear that this is a short week... or at least I think that's what |greenbat just said.

Best of luck to all in Edouard's path. Hope you get to feeling better Cleo. Glad your trip is going well, Doc, don't forget to visit the stone steps from The Exorcist movie while you're in Georgetown if you have time. FanTC, good luck with the continuance (and I hope you picked up a club of wood that was on his porch and you didn't bring it with you).

Wishing a good day to all who haven't already planned for something different.

:)

This weather is getting real depressing. And no end in sight. I have a great |goodidea though. Someone buy by house so I can move out of this "moist" area!

Enjoy your day everyone. Tennis time for me. Indoors again naturally. |waves|

Emerald 2008-08-05 08:37 AM

Good morning porn peddlers

I was listening to the long range weather forcast for this area last night and they are saying thunderstorms all week!! I could cry - If you can all wish for a sunny pleasant day for Friday it might just happen! (crosses fingers)

Got another house showing today so I need to tidy up before 12 noon, other than that I sent out my Trusted Submitter PM to the worthy few!

Hope everyone has a good day!

How long has it been since we've had a day that was completely dry? The sun is shining right now, forming a wonderful glare across my screen, but I know it won't last. And why won't it last? Because Mother Nature refuses to allow my pool to get over 80 fargin' degrees! |angry|

Well, I called my father at midnight last night, as I often do, and I made the MISTAKE of mentioning the death of Solzhenitsyn. He went on his rant about how he's read all of Solzhenitsyn and all of Tolstoy and all of Dostoevsky and much of Nabokov and how they are all fairly depressing, but well worth the read. Now, how is it possible to have read that much, yet still employ the irritatingly constant use of double negatives and pronounce the days of the week as Mondee, Tuesdee, Wednesdee, etc?

ArtWilliams 2008-08-05 09:13 AM

Hello all! Cleo, it is great you hear you are feeling better.

I found a coffee shop with free Wifi so I decided to read the morning thread while on vacation in Fenlon Falls which is about 1 1/2 north east of Toronto. Just stuff with my family today. I am writing a book on Ubuntu Linux for beginners so maybe I can spend a few hours on that.

Have a great day everyone!

Is there a way to make it do wireless connections on laptops. The last time I tried, it didn't go so well.

If your wifi card is supported, it relatively easy. If not you have to use Ndiswrapper which allows you to use the Windows drivers under Linux. Linux supports more hardware than Windows but sadly it does not always support the latest hardware. That is where people get fucked. If you have an older machine (>18 months) chances are that Linux will work under it. There are Live CDs which allow you find out if you machine is well supported (and no hard disk install is required).

Morning All. Just heading out to the greenhouse to get everything watered, then a bit of work, chiropractor, then more work. It is cloudy and threatening rain even here, so living in the desert doesn't exempt you from cloudy/rainy days, lol.

Hope everyone has a good day today!

Good morning all. Still getting back into the swing. My mainstream stuff is eating all my time for now. Hopefully by tonight I can get to my samples.

Depends on your chipset really. I've run atheros cards in my laptops since 2001 using the madwifi project. As art also mentioned, ndisdrivers do work with ndiswrapper.

Now, the really interesting thing is that Atheros hired two of the main guys from the madwifi project, and have decided to open up their API to the open source community so that the madwifi (and the ath5k/ath9k) project will be included in the kernel and widely accepted. The ndisdriver's are also getting much more mature. In 2002, I used ndisdriver from Driverloader with a broadcom wireless card and it has worked fine for years. 2.6.27-rc1-mm1 fixes a rather longstanding bug with my nephew's atheros card. Small bug in the kernel with his ati card, otherwise he'd have compiz working and he could have a desktop that looked and acted just like a mac. His hda_intel sound card also has an issue which had a patch posted yesterday, but, that doesn't apply cleanly to his kernel, so, he's got to wait on that. Bet you can't tell I've been working on kernels for the last two days haha.

Art, have you considered selling it as an ebook, or do you have a publisher for it?

For me, a little more benchmarking, but, I believe I have most of the issues worked out on my latest bump in the road. Time to move on to the next step.

Cleo, you have the worst luck with illnesses in Florida. FanTC, I admire your spirit and hopefully the courts will go easy on you.

Have a good Tuesday everyone.

NY Jester 2008-08-05 01:08 PM

Happy Mid Day Tuesday everyone. Cleo hope that clears up quickly. Summer time colds/ infections suck.

No rain for us the last few days. But there was enough so that the water is at a constant 76' with a nice white haze LOL

Getting back into the swing of things, hoping to be fully swung by weeks end.

As for Fantasy Football yeah I just received my annual email to join a league Ive been in for 10+ years. I cannot wait. Is pre-season over yet? hehe

Be well!

annie_cash 2008-08-05 01:14 PM

Good morning everyone. I've just started a demand against some people I worked for in the past and never payed me...those fuckers! Now I want to make things fair and I want my money so I got a lawyer and started this.
Have a nice day.

Early afternoon everyone. Thought I already had posted a good morning. I'm a space cadet today. Really having a hard time moving forward. Just been chatting with people on IM and it's really slowing things down to a halt.

Crazy stuff there FanTC.

Now back to working...and more IMing. :)

Cheers.

papagmp 2008-08-05 02:48 PM

I need some frickin sleep - less than 9 hours in the last three days. Had to install new OS on all the office machines because win2000 is no longer supported by our accounting software. Needless to say, there were a few glitches.

Now off to the bank and then I hope to hit the sack for a nap.

Fonz 2008-08-05 03:08 PM

Howdy folks,

Had to work too hard today and really want to go to bed right now (9 PM). But I have to babysit my 5 months old nephew for a few hours. Darn it... :)
Well since he's not big enough to realize what porn looks like I might get some work done :)

Oh yeah, FanTC is my hero for today :)

Have a good one all!

Jim 2008-08-05 10:17 PM

Good Evening Guys...
It has been a shit fucking week starting on my Birthday. Someone I met who lost her husband about a year ago said the hardest things were the 1sts. The first Christmas, the first anniversary, the first Birthday...etc. I felt fine until my birthday on the 1st.

And then, my step son got married (again) on the 2nd. I was excited about it all week until that day. I kept thinking, "I am not supposed to be here alone". Vickie said over and over again, "I just want to live until the 2nd of August". And, to make matters worse, I promised her she would.

I had to leave before the wedding even started. It was a good thing too. When Vickie was feeling good, her and her son made a list of songs for them to dance to. The DJ, was never told to pull that list. He played it while Vickie's son, my step son, was dancing with his step mother.

Anyway...I feel like a baby. Why the fuck can't I get over this terrible thing? (Rhetorical question) :) But seriously, there are times I think it is time to pack up the Cadillac, throw the bikes in a trailer and just move as far away from here as possible. But there is really no way I could leave my children.

Oh yeah...my father, who did not go to the funeral and has called me once since that day, did not call me on my Birthday. Let me ask people with only one child, the only child or hell...any parent or anyone with a parent. How the hell does a father do that? And remember, when my mother died, I moved in with my father for 2 months to make sure he would be ok. I just don't get it at all.

So...I hope all of you have had a nice week so far :)

NY Jester 2008-08-06 01:57 AM

Jim, there are no easy answers, not that I necessarily think youre looking for any, but youve got the perfect place to vent. This board is full of friends that care for you. Hope each week gets better.
