I was going to go to Greenies today. But I decided to wait until Friday when most everyone else is arriving. So, today it's off to the clothes store and start packing. Besides that...not a lot. A little work perhaps.

The sun is out for a change here today so i may even wash my car later, unless the typical thing happens when i first touch the sponge to the paint work and it pisses down. :(

Wow I'm up insanely fucking early. Christine started back to school this week and she gets up at 6am for it. I usually I try to stay somewhat asleep but I got up with her this morning since the DirecTV installer is suppose to be here between 8 and noon to put in HD. Can't wait to see what kind of ugly mess this one wants to do with cables and whatnot. Having the old SD Tivo relocated to the bedroom and and going to try to get the new HD dish located on the side of the house instead of up on the chimney where the old SD dish is.

Other then getting new TV service going shopping for a table lamp and then just another day of errands and work.

we are having the 3 hottest days of the year, about 36-38 º C without ac.. then a huge storm will come tomorrow and chill us down a bit. It is red heat weather alarm. We had a stupid pattern this summer, 3 uber hot days then one big storm.

Trying to survive and even work a bit.

Good morning everyone. I managed to work on my site last evening and now it seems to look fine in IE6. Things are looking up! I hope to bank a few blog entries today before leaving on a mini-vacation with my wife tomorrow. Have a great day!

Kids wanna go bowling today, so in about an hour we are leaving the house for 2 hours of bowling and some diner stuff.
Hubby is still not finished with the home cinema thing, i think he needs a whole week to get it sett:D

Yet another day of being shocked that my internet is still working. They did shut off the cable box yesterday, but the internet and phone are still working. Found out last night we can take possession of the new place today at 5pm.

My allergies have gone to hell the last few days, every fucking morning I wake up and blow my nose again and again and again for an hour or so then I'm alright most the day until I try to go to bed again.

The newly married couple arrived yesterday & I don't think they are off to a good start. BlueBrit is walking with a limp & his ankle look like one of Hillary's kankles |jester| He 1st said it was from falling down some stairs, but then he said he was rushing to get to some romantic time with his new bride, but I've seen their house & I doubt he was going down the stiars...maybe up. Personally, I think she gave him a good talking to followed by a little |club|

We've got some final prep work to do for this weekend's festivities & then I think the ladies have suckered Bluey (new nickname) into going to the Erie County Fair |pokefun| |smurf| which means I might get to watch one of the 3 Netflix movies I have here |thumb

Got my electrical box and the wire box located up on the wall so they are covered by the TV, buy I made a mess of the drywall. So today will be spend sanding and painting, so it looks good. I hope to have the TV all set up by tomorrow.

Cleo, good luck with the installer, mine showed up at 2:15 pm, I was scheduled for 8-12 also.

Bob01, my HD dish is a bit bigger and it looks a bit different than the SD, plus it needs two cables if you have the HD DVR installed.

I've already got two cables in my TV room due to have a DirecTV Tivo there. Also have one cable running to my office and one cable running to my bedroom. In my bedroom the installer is going to have to run a second cable since my Tivo is being relocated there for free. I've never gotten a good signal in my bedroom so I'm going to have it replaced as while the second cable is being run there.

The HD Dishes are a lot bigger then the SD dishes so I'm really hopping I can get the installer to mount it on the side of my house shielded from the wind now that trees are no longer in the way.

Ahh i see, i've got Sky HD on a standard dish with a different LNB.
It sounded a bit strange to have 2 dishes when you can have 2 different LNB's on one dish, unless they're pointing in different directions ofcourse.

Have some work this morning and then a bunch of errands to do today all before packing for the red eye flight.

I told |smurf| that you have to pick up the ball & chain before running, first marriage |newbie| mistake of many to come :D

My wife woke me up while kissing me good-bye at 4 am and I couldn't fall back to sleep, so I was up until 6:something. I woke up at 10 and I still feel drowsy.

I think the only things I have on the agenda today are discover why one of the sink drains is leaking and take my son to a physical at 2:30. Of course, he appears to have once again adhered himself to his sister's computer and it isn't easy to remove him from there. I had him invite over his imbecile friend yesterday just to prove that he can still communicate without a keyboard. (what kind of person sits in front a PC all day long? |loony|) I find his friend to be excessively annoying, even for an 8 year-old, and my son condescends to him and corrects his word choice the entire time they're together. It's fabulously entertaining to see my son turning into a complete asshole and harshly criticizing his friend at such a young age. I think he must get it from his mother.

Well i was just about to post a witty reply to Greenies post when automatic updates shut my pc down to instal some unecessary BS to the laptop |angry|

Morning all. Finally got the dentist over with. Ended up my regular dentist only found one cavity, oh joy and managed to get me almost all the way numb so there was very little pain.

Then we went to the Home Depot grand opening, and wow we almost couldn't find a parking space. We talked to the regional manager who was visiting, and he said in all the years he's worked for Home Depot, he has never seen a grand opening of a store so busy. :D

Then we tried to get a quote to get our windows replaced. Should have seen the looks on their faces when we told them that our house was cinder block, and the dweeb builder mortared in the windows, and they have no sills, just flimsy metal frames. We told them it would be easier to box in the window, and put some outdoor trim then try to cut the frames out, lol. But they will be coming over in a few days to give us a better estimate. I'd love to get all 4 of the windows replaced with some real windows that actually help keep the heat out in the summer then these I swear motor home reject windows we have now.

Today Just the chiropractor, then alot of work to make up for all the dentist trips I have made the last few days. Have a good one all. |waves|

Oh snap Cox just called me midpost.

She said she wants to inform me of the rate increase for the install.|bullshit|

I told my wife that price seemed scammy. Sure enough the coxsuckers try to jam me up for 5 bucks.

Yah I'm cheap but.. It's the point. So she credited the 5 bucks |headbang|

but I still have to wait here 8-5 for the cableguy. Hope its a chick and not some fat ass.

Spent most of the day yesterday working on some hardware -- now today will be spent reinstalling all of the software. :)

After an exhausting day at NYU yesterday, I've opted to stay home today and catch up on work, reorganize for travel tomorrow etc. My RugDawg has gone with our friend (who also sublets my apartment) to her job at the UN today for a behind the scenes tour. Turns out we have to come back here on Monday to meet with the financial aid office and meet with his student adviser on Tuesday.

Since we had already planned a "goodbye" dinner tonight we are still going through with it which means I'll be very hungover while training through upstate NY tomorrow.

Morning all - another day in paradise.

Way too much work and way too little time.

I'll be waiting for the cable/internet guy tomorrow at our new place. Both places we lived at here in Portland had never been hooked up to cable. The townhouses are cable ready, but the previous tenants never used it. Which sucks, cuz they can't just turn the thing on.....so I get to wait on their slow asses.

What a wonderful start to a too fucking busy time for us. My Brother came down last week and my 4 year old nephew had a cough which he so cheerfully gave to us so we have both been very sick since Sunday. In my entire life I have never had my heart stolen by any kid like this monster has stolen mine, and I swear I will get even with his goofy grinning ass when he is bigger for getting me sick for the first time in 2-3 years.|barf|

Tonight we start moving into our new/larger/better place where I plan to move over the PC's, TV's, and Business/Sex related items as well as the 2 cats and wife and whatever else I can grab with my Jeep, and then bright and early tomorrow (OK, early for me, 10am) the movers get here to do all the grunt work while I stand behind them screaming "NO, NOT THERE, TO THE LEFT 1.25 inches....YOUR OTHER LEFT!!! I SAID 1.25 inches not 1.3 inches!"|sandm

Did I mention it will be 97F today, 102F Friday and 98F Saturday?|verysad

We then have Saturday and Sunday and Monday and part of Tuesday to get the new house as organized as best as we can so we can go to Curacao with a clear conscious... not that having a guilty conscious would matter to me, I'm still going to that island and smoking my ass off.|potleaf|

Comcast has been brilliant since we moved here last year, when we put in a transfer of service they decided to cut us off 10 days early, so when we figured out it was them and not the modem that we replaced they told us it would take 72 hours to fix so we have been using our phone cards for over a week. |banghead|

We will be using Verizon DSL at the new place and when we return from the island we will order DirectTV and dump Comcast as much as we can, bust since we have 12 cams running 24/7 (When we have access to the Internets of tubes) I think we are going to try and keep the internet so we would have 2 options instead of just one.

So in short….

COUGH COUGH COUGH!!!!!!!!!

DirecTV just gave me a $100 credit for the installer not showing up on time.

Still no idea when he will actually show up. :(

With my luck I would be in the shower or asleep and miss his knock on the door....|cry||shocking|

I noticed that whenever there's a UPS or FedEx delivery that requires a signature, they ultimately arrive during the 10 minutes I'm away, taking my kids to school. It's a goddamn conspiracy to make me drive to them and I know it!
