Good Morning
Kind of a sleepless night. For some unknown reason, my stomach was kind of sickly. I spent a lot of time on the toilet. I think I may have said too much. :)

Offline crap going on a good part of today. Hopefully, I don't shit my pants while I am out and about. :)

Morning all - just finished a shoot with Hannah and I'm off to bed in a few.

We are finally get a bit of nasty weather from Ike but nothing worse then a bunch of rain.

Got to love trying to remember how we setup something many years ago. Realized yesterday that I had accidentally deleted a htaccess access file off of my server. After spending a few hours trying to figure out why the htaccess access file that I put into place wasn't making the html parse the php includes I finally found an old backup with the correct htaccess and realized that the includes were shtml includes and I needed to parse html as shtml, not php.

Just a day of work planned for today. The Large Hadron Collider goes online tomorrow so there may or may not be a tomorrow. |jester|

My step-daughters roommate unexpectedly moved out on her yesterday while she was at work. Seeing as the DVD player & tuner were his, I got a call around 9:30 asking me how to get the cable hooked up to the TV. After asking the standard questions & getting YES replies, I drove over to find that the cable from the wall that she said was plugged into the cable box was laying on the floor |banghead|

I had the same problem and I know what's causing it:

Wind up to 50 mph gusts, rain falling sideways and tornado warnings just north of here. Lots of tropical storm strength weather planned for today and tomorrow, but fortunately our Cuban neighbor is eating a lot of the force Ike brought along. Gotta love the mountains on those islands. Tides are pretty high this morning and we may get a couple feet of storm surge by high-tide time later this afternoon/evening.

Wishing everyone a day with no need to keep looking out the window to see how high the water out back has risen in the last 10 minutes.

Good Morning All. Hope you keep dry and safe Simon from Ike. Glad our bits of rain and wind we have contented with since yesterday are nothing like you are going through.

Just trying to wake up enough to go walk. Some days, its harder than others. Don't seem to be losing any more weight yet, but I can feel everything toning up, so that is progress. :D

Just some work today planned, need to work on some non-adult projects too. Now if I can get awake enough to do them, lol. Have a good one all.

Good Morning i think :( im coming down with some cold bug all stuffed up and a sore throat and cough. Just work and maybe a nap planned for today.

Cuba sure has had a string of bad luck with hurricanes this year. Simon, do you want to put up a hurricane webcam? angle your Isight camera out the window on one machine, and you can watch the water level without having to get up.

Putting a few finishing touches on some apache code which hopefully will do precisely what I have asked it to do. So far, it has been less than cooperative. :)

Just started watching Dexter this past weekend. Great show. Can see what all the talk was about! |thumb

Of all of the TV shows in recent years, Dexter is about the only one that captures 99% of my attention while it is on. Most shows I watch somewhat passively while clicking away at the keyboard. Sep 28! :)

Showtime even created a widget for Wordpress sites for the countdown -- they are getting more in tune with the 21st century.

Another big Dexter fan here.

Dexter, The L Word, and Weeds was the only reason I kept Showtime when I got rid of the rest of our movie channels after discovering Netflix.

You forgot Californication, which is fucking GREAT! Brotherhood is really good and The Tudors is ok.

And I'll still watch anything HBO puts on Sunday night (but I have a bad feeling about True Blood)

They just started giving Dexter and Californication here last week (both season 1). Ofcourse I missed both of them. Got to set up the HD Recorder for the next ones.

Usually I keep the blinds closed since it's so bright most days but with them open I can see the water in the canal from my desk chair. Right now the most interesting thing out there is the land crab walking around by the fish-cleaning table.

Can't zoom in enough to get a good pic but here are a couple of shots of the canal from the window by my desk. Not much rain but you can see the palm trees are getting blown to the west by the winds curling in from the east. And you'd have to know there are usually a couple more steps down to the water from the house across the canal to know how much the water has risen today.

im playing catch up today.

Had a softball game last night and won 5-2. 5-2 in a slowpitch softball game, that is fucking nuts. My team has been like that all year, one of the best defensive teams out there, but lacking in the hitting department. I've been pitching in the fall league that we are 4 games into now and are 2-2. Team we beat last night beat the team that won the summer league 17-7 last week, so holding them to only 2 runs was really something. I even struck out the side in the 4th inning, haha. Maybe I should win the Cy Young award (if there was such a thing) for slow pitch softball, hahaha. We lost our first 2 games 8-6 with the second game going into extra innings, won the 3rd game 9-8 and won last night 5-2. Some WAY WAY low scoring games considering when my father-in-law picthed in the summer league we were giving up 10-12 runs a game (I think his 50 year old legs finally gave out on him for good and he might be done playing forever with two badly hurt legs that are still hurt after 8 weeks), but scoring 14-16. Just if we could fucking hit now, we'd be doing real good.

They tend to stay inside once the wind speed gets up over 30-40 mph.

Good afternoon all

i spent most of the morning building gals and freesites and will be ready to submit tomorrow.. now i am getting ready to head out to the dentist :(

Do you live in one of those houses that can pick itself up & walk around? That's SO COOL!!!!

Yeah ... it's kinda like living in a Transformer. Sometimes we just have it walk around in circles so it stays sunny on the same side all the time.

Seriously though, probably 80% of the houses here are some kind of 'stilt-style' construction so a lot of the houses do look like they're standing on legs. Sometimes when tourists have never seen them before we tell them that we only raise them off the ground like this during hurricane season, and the rest of the year we crank them back down to ground level.

I wish I had gone with the Key's style metal roof instead of a terracotta Spanish tile roof.

Morning.. (it is SOMEWHERE still) .. we had no internet from 1am until sometime after 11..when I left.. by the time I got home at 2pm it was up. This is the 3rd Tuesday in a row that it's gone down around 1 or 2am and stayed down until after 10am..but Cox claims no knowledge.

After running errands and losing a SHITE pile of $$ while at the Palms waiting for the football picks to post.. I'm glad to be back at home and in the AC. Rain here yesterday raised the humidity to double digits of 12%. WHEW..it's a sauna!!
