Fucked Up Sponsor

I wanted to go back and promote a sponsor I haven't promoted in a few years and looked at their webmaster content and sent them this e-mail (site names deleted)

In the content download area the most recent content for these sites is
(lesbian site#1) 2008
(stocking site) February, 20007
(lesbian site #2) March, 2003
(Wife) November, 2007
(Hairy) November, 2000
(MILF) May, 2007
(Indian) June, 2006

I could go on but you get the idea. If I'm looking in the wrong content
download area, where should I be?

Their reply:

We update content when we can, if that doesn't suit your needs at all
you can always buy content any time you wish.

Thank you,
Webmaster@****

I'll keep promoting who I'm promoting now thank you, they have current content...|nahnah|

HowlingWulf 2008-09-10 01:59 PM

I've noticed the same thing on a couple sponsors. Basically they tend to update the sites that are most profitable I imagine.

Yeah, I had one sponsor with a gazillion sites tell me to promote several of the newer ones since those are the ones they're shooting all the new content for, niches I wasn't interested in.

tigermom 2008-09-10 02:41 PM

Well, they should have been more polite about it and they could have offered you a pass to the site to grab some fresh content from there. Then again, I would have approached them differently, myself. Your email could have come across as being too cynical or something.

Ramster 2008-09-10 03:51 PM

Many don't add content anymore with hosted galleries since webmasters simply rip the content from the hosted galleries and use that.

But that is a horrible email to get, LOL.

ozycozy 2008-09-23 02:16 PM

you use strange sponsors :)

I like strange sponsors with strange content. IF the site doesn't have 3 niches in the title, or a niche nobody has ever heard of before I'm probably not pushing it very hard.|whisper|

Thotmes 2008-09-25 09:19 AM

I think if some sponsor answered in this way you should stop slelling thier sites and sey them fou yourself

Useless 2008-09-25 09:25 AM

|whisper| pimp roll was the sponsor

Greenguy 2008-09-25 10:13 AM

The one problem with a big program like that - especially one that has BYOT's - is that they do not "manage" all the promo material.

Some of the "managers" go the extra mile - HFS's & fresh contest & RSS feeds & more than 3 banners. But some just build a tour & forget.

If there's no new content, you can either buy some or move on.

You're basically upset because they were honest & straight forward with you.

Thing is (assuming Useless is being serious), that sponsor is my highest converting one....|huh guess there's nothing wrong with using worn out content if it sells, eh?

I've never known if that was OK or not...is that what most people do? I guess I should ask the sponsor...

If he is right, that is one of mine too, but I never use any of their content anyways, I use my own, lol. But I sell their portal/download sites anyways, not individual sites, so doesn't matter if I use my own.

Odds are, these are the ones that are not updated on a regular basis with new content.

Pimp Roll is in my top 3 - they have 400+ tours to promote & I've probably tried them all at one time or another. I currently push 150+ sites of theirs. They are a FANTASTIC program & one of the few that I recommend to people verbally.

And I'll say that I've run into this same problem with them. There's a couple of tours that I convert very well on, but when I go to grab some banners, there's none there |huh Oh well, next sponsor.....

If I emailed them & their reply was that they had none & I was welcome to make my own, I'd simply move on.

Too many people are spoiled by sponsors that bend over backwards to get you to promote them. One says "sorry" and there's a thread complaining?

Just Move On......

This business would have eaten some of you ALIVE 10 years ago.

I'm not upset, I just said they were a fucked up sponsor. (which is just my opinion) I also said "I'll keep promoting who I'm promoting now thank you, they have current content"...which means I did move on.

But if Luscious Delight is doing OK with old content, I might give 'em a try |thumb

You didn't move on, you started a thread.

Let me ask this: now that you know what the situation is, do you still consider them a "fucked up sponsor" and if so, why?

I started the thread to share an experience I had with a sponsor. Doesn't meat I haven't moved on to other sponsors.

I don't know what you mean by "what the situation is", other than that I can't get current content, but yes, I think the sponsor in question, whick I chose not to name, is fucked up. Why? I don't expect sponsors to kiss my ass but there are several sponsors that provide current content or give access to members' areas to get content. Neither of which was offered by the sponsor in question.
The tone from the sponsor's response was at the least sarcastic, and on the other end a little bit like a smart ass.

Mateusz 2008-09-27 06:37 AM

Now thats fucked up..

I emailed one of the sponsors....

Message: Hi, I just wanted to let you know there is probably something wrong with your *** blog - all links on the blog seem not to carry over affiliate id, and whats more when you click on any link you get redirected to *** and not ***

TONE?!?!?!?!? So you are the 1st person in the history of the world to accurately detect tone from text? BRAVO |thumb

Not every sponsor is going to do everything that YOU want them to do for you.

Why the fuck should they let YOU into their members area?

And, let's remember that, when you're talking about a BYOT type program, there could be 100 tours all leading to the SAME members area. How should they prepare free content for that? The same sets in 100 different locations in the affiliate admin?

99.44% of the "problems" you run into have already been experienced by 99.44% of the webmasters you'll run into.

$50 minimum payouts? CCBill has $25 |cry|
You mean I have to write my OWN descriptions for these galleries? |club|
I have to copy & paste all these link codes one by one? |huh
They only have 3 banners for that site? |angry|
Why would they only count 2nd page clicks |crazy|
They have 10 different niche tours, but not one that covers the site I'm building |bullshit|
The referring URL area shows NULL for 3 of my 12 signups |catfight|
I contacted support at 5:00 PM on Friday & it's Sunday and no one has gotten back to me |banghead|
You mean I can't download their hosted galleries and promote a different sponsor on the edited html? |violin|

You want me to go on?

Next time, think of a couple logical scenarios before you assume that the sponsor is sarcastic in their truthful reply.

Greenguy 2008-09-27 09:40 AM

Affiliate: Pussy Cash is paying $100.00 per signup. Can you do that too?
Program: No. Out highest payout is $40.00 for the pop-up tour.

That program is FUCKED! And them telling me to use the pop-up tour is very sarcastic.

GO SCREW!

Hey if it hasn't been fixed yet, please name the sponsorand provide a link so we no one else loses money on this. :(

dirtymind 2008-10-05 02:47 PM

well i have seen this with a couple of sponsors that i worked with and i think it is bad trend. you should keep all sites up to date. when they don't have fresh content for you it also means their members area's also have not new sets or they would have content for you to promote the site with. even if it is just a little

MadCat 2008-10-06 03:31 AM

Some sponsors suffer from ADD -- these days, sponsor hosted galleries/blogs/etc. are all the craze, so they spend all their time working on that. After all, who still uses sponsor supplied content, right? (I do...)

Then again I tend to pick sponsors that have free content available for use, must admit I've found one that's got more content than you can shake a (st|d)ick at which was a pleasant surprise.
