Question about Softcore
 

I was just wondering if someone could give me the clear line between softcore and hardcore, especially concerning solo vids. Thanks-

As far as I know, hardcore is fucking and masturbating, with or without toys.

Softcore are nude models doing non of the above.

I don't consider masturbating with a toy hardcore, but that's just me...

I would count masterbation with a toy as hardcore. Thats just how i see it.

Pretty much anything involving only one model including the model with some kind of a toy although if the model's toy is say a chain saw and they are using it to saw cut off their legs then I guess then it would no longer be softcore.

Sticking something inside a pussy in a sexual manner is hardcore to me. Rubbing, etc could be hardcore, but softcore if no pink is shown. I tend to think of cable porn as softcore, with hardcore showing real sex that is obviously not simulated.

So right now it's about 50-50 :)

It was when 2257 reared its ugly head a few years back that I changed. Masturbation with or without toys is considered explicit. Because of that I now view it as hardcore, or at least non softcore. Please speak to your own lawyer in regards to 2257.

Unfortunately if your building and submitting that becomes a different issue, especially if that LL or ??? does not have a masturbation/sex toy category. Most owners that have taken submissions for years (Tommy, Cleo, Fonz) see it as softcore, which is understandable.

I think many feel that softcore, is solo models without any penetration of any kind including toys. I myself use the word for non-nude models, single girl models nude, girl on girl kissing and masturbation by hand/finger. Thats just me.

I'm grateful for everyone who responded. I think where it's tough is that there appears to be a pretty big division between American and European.

All I know is that sites like Met-Art call themselves soft and also state that they have an attorney review everything to make sure they don't require the 2257. So by that, the definition of 'soft' wold be anything that doesn't need 2257.

Please don't hate me but I'd like to take this question a bit further- does anyone think it's inappropriate to only have soft on your main site but submit hardcore freesites? I'm not saying I'm considering doing this but I am considering limiting my main site to just soft and I'm wondering if this then very much limits my freesites? Or what about limiting what you show on your main site but linking to hardcore sponsors and LL's? Not blind links but links nonetheless-

I don't see why it would matter either way. If the sole purpose of your free sites is to promote whatever it is that you are referring to as your main site, then it would indeed be incongruous. Otherwise, I don't see an issue.
