A good Christmas Eve morning to you all! (except for Torn)

Good early morning folks!

MML told me to start this thread in the work & lurk chat so who am I to disobey him :)

Doing some reviews, setting up a new little project and after that it will be X-mas all over. First dinner with the family and then I'll probably head over to an outside bar where the bar itself is completely made of ice. Shnapps will flow!

Have a nice day all :)

MrMaryLou 2008-12-24 05:31 AM

Well thank you Fonz and good morning all :)

annie_cash 2008-12-24 06:47 AM

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I will also spend the dinner with my fammily, give away some presents and then will go out with friends. I hope everyone has a great night |thumb

Good morning all!

Still hard at work "Porn knows no holidays"

Cleo 2008-12-24 08:25 AM

Still dealing with a miserable cold so probably not doing much of anything today except staying in bed and taking drugs.

Is it 2009 yet?

Ramster 2008-12-24 08:37 AM

Good Morning and Merry Christmas to all since I will not be online later today until Boxing day evening. :)

Good Ho Ho Eve Everyone |waves|

The Bitch is upstairs preparing the house for tonight & tomorrow. Not that it needs that much prep work in my eyes, but what do I know :)

My step-daughters are coming over tonight for our annual "Just Us" Xmas eve. Tomorrow, everyone will be here...joy.

John-ACWM 2008-12-24 09:42 AM

Good day and all the best for tomorrow

digifan 2008-12-24 09:42 AM

Good day and merry christmas to those who celebrate it.

balls_deep 2008-12-24 10:17 AM

Good morning everyone.

Not much work today since i have a tattoo appointment for a few hours this afternoon. More work on my ribs and arm pit. After that I'll be playing santa for the kid.

Coffee is on and Happy Holidays!

JustRobert 2008-12-24 10:19 AM

Good Morning :)
Work on the agenda before Xmas eve with family and thats about it.

Mr Exotic 2008-12-24 10:45 AM

Have one place/dinner to go to tonight, then we have 4 places tomorrow, all we'll be doing is running tomorrow. Found out yesterday that the doctor is going to induce my wife on Monday, so probably Monday night or Tuesday morning we'll be having a new baby girl who we are naming Bryleigh Noel, and the Noel has nothing to do with her being born this time of year, haha, its just a name I've always liked (and you can talk to the wife about the crazy spelling, haha).
So chances of me "partying" it up for New Years are zero since I'll be in the hospital with my wife and new baby.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone.

I've been playing with my new early gift, a Sapphire 512 video card I got cheap at New Egg. I was hoping it would solve the blue screen of death problems I've been getting lately, but no such luck. Still working on that. But wow does it make Oblivion playing a whole lot cooler, and doesn't choke my system when I try to run Poser anymore. |thumb

I have been getting 1x a day for about a week:

DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error. After reading on a lot of boards, yesterday I went into msconfig and searched for startup stuff that might be conflicting. Found NVidia was loading up a driver for a graphic card I had 2 cards ago. I'm hoping that is the cause. Keeping fingers crossed, as it hasn't bluescreened since I shut that off. It started after I installed my new soundblaster card, but I have the latest drivers for it. If it keeps up, I'll buy a new sound card, maybe it is faulty.

Have a great one all. |waves|

Merry Christmas Eve everyone. I ended up making tamales last night. Since my grandma passed away 4 years ago. I took over making them every Christmas. I had planned to buy them and take off the wrappers. I was going to tell everyone I made them but I just couldn't go out like that.

They're almost done now :)

I made Red Pork. The meat stewed in onions, garlic and chicken broth all day yesterday.

Green Chilles (4 kinds) w/cheese for my vegetarian family members.

Help yourself :)

Now why can't they sell vegetarian ones along side the road here? I'd love some of those they look good.

Merry Christmas Eve

I have a 5 kg Goose in the oven, already been in there for 4 hours, so now it's time to get the rest of the food ready. Phew, that's a lot of food for 3 people :D

But at least I won't have to cook tomorrow

Have a great Christmas everyone - I'm off for tonight! |waves|

Torn Rose 2008-12-24 12:26 PM

And there it is! The a all time record for snow in the month of December! Not exactly something to celebrate, I'm pretty well sick of this mess. Weather shows a nice warm front coming from the south to the entire area except our area since we have the winds from the east pushing the warm west so we will be the last part to get the warm....|banghead|

I think we are going to risk a trip to the grocery store, not that we "really" need anything, just the idea of getting out for a few minutes and making sure there is still a civilization out there and this isn't the end of the world.

|snowman2|bigfuckin

(BTW Fonz, I will get you at recess!)

yeah everyone have a good xmas eve, gonna finish some reviewing I started last night and get ready to go over my sisters for dinner

Preacher 2008-12-24 12:57 PM

Merry Xmas everyone. |waves|

Yesterday at the stores was a frikken nightmare, but I think we got everything taken care of for tomorrow. There's still some snow items we need to pick up for the kids before we head to the mountains. Snow gear is expensive! Add that to the gifts we bought and I'm broke. |angry|

I'll be taking a few days off but if possible I'll pop my head into the board -- depends on if I have internet at the house we're staying at.

Simon 2008-12-24 01:00 PM

Good morning and afternoon world |waves|

Finished last local shopping this morning and now just watching the UPS tracking site to be sure some things ordered days ago are getting where they should be today.

Having an 'orphans dinner' with some good people tomorrow, so no cooking here. I miss the smell of food so I'm headed to the kitchen to figure out what I can make today just to get some aromas in here.

Oh, and it's going to be 78-79ºF all week so I have the a/c on and cranked up so I can feel a little cold sitting here in shorts and a shirt with no sleeves.

An early Happy Holidays wish to all.

:)

Oh and GO COWBOYS!

bluebrit 2008-12-24 01:59 PM

Good Christmas Eve everybody :)

I'm late on the board because I had to go out and clear yet more snow! We have been getting way more than the average and just to keep things interesting I even had to pull the damn stuff off the roof.

Nothing much to say beyond that except to tell Torn to get up here and come see the real stuff :)

Have a great day everybody and for those not around tomorrow, Merry Christmas from Emmy and myself |snowman2

Torn Rose 2008-12-24 02:39 PM

We just got back from the store and I can say this with the knowledge of living in middle of Indiana corn fields for 18 years and having countless blizzards and countless feet of snow.

*THIS IS THE WORSE I HAVE EVER SEEN*

I say that due to the fact the Portland area (and my friends in Seattle say the same thing) is *NOT* in anyway shape or form ready for any snow storm at all. The *ONLY* hope is getting back to the 40’s like we are suppose to Thursday/Friday.

Yes, I know Buffalo and Canada and a million other places get way worse snow/weather, but the difference is, your areas are READY and use to it. This area isn’t even close to being ready or use to it. This would be comparable to Miami getting 12” of snow for a week, it’s that bad.

I still haven’t bought chains for my Jeep which is mandatory, since we haven’t gone to the mountains yet I didn’t see the need… I wish I had them now.

Since we live on a steep hill they are plowing the streets that run East/West North and South of us (Our street runs North/South) so we had to get some speed and ram our way through about 50’ of 3-4’ deep of snow and Thankfully, my 4 wheel drive made it, of course getting home was a bigger question since we need to drive uphill and of course when I was going as fast as I could going up the hill to plow into that deep snow a car just had to be coming from a side street… not that I stopped at the stop sign.

But we made it….

We walked to our downtown and snapped a few pics, I’ll post some in a few.

Torn Rose 2008-12-24 03:29 PM

I just learned a valuable lesson.

When you get a knock at the door, and live on a hill with a shit load of snow/ice on the streets, and you answer the door and see a postal person with a package and yet, you don't see a postal car anywhere nearby.....

DO NOT LAUGH!

She wasn't at all pleased with me and actually shoved my package into my chest and yelled at me for laughing...

I have no idea how far she walked, but it "shocked me" since I wasn't expecting it so it made me laugh.... some people just don't have a sense of humor.|lol|

Licker4U 2008-12-24 03:57 PM

I'll be gone for a few days to see relative so I'll see everyone when I get back. Have a Merry Christmas! |snowman2
