where did all my submitters go?

I was mad about some things and I did think about leaving the LL biz

my LL are not for sale, I cant edit my sig so fuck it

I hit the jackpot with G so you are missing out on 17k traffic on my LL and it looks like it will stay awhile

look and greenies main page I made his top list, and i can tell you that you need a bunch of traffic to make it

I delete a lot of submissions cause of garbage and keyword recips
you submitters lost touch with things, and turned to auto submitting software to get as much out as possible during this hard times
thats how those shit recips get put on shit pages

those LL that use those recips are the some of the people we dont want to submitt to

to get listed on my LL - build a good index with no keyword recips and auto subitted trash

I need submitters NOW and I want all the best from this board to submit, I'll take a simple text link to my index and use different xxx keyword every once and a while if your gonna submitt with a single cat recip

before i had to many submitters I lost some, but the good submitters i still have are submitting, and they always have me grouped with the biggest LL's

I need more, bring them on

LD 2009-08-20 04:03 PM

Wierd you can't edit your sig...

Pagan 2009-08-22 06:54 AM

When good builders stop submitting sites to a link list, there is usually a good reason. Sometimes it is because traffic is low, or the rules of the site, or even personalities of the LL owner. Why are some LLs thriving while others fading? Have you considered checking with some of the submitters who stopped to see why? You may well find more answers that way.

I got enough to put a decent update up, I cleaned out my admin and banned like hell for a month to get down to where I am out

one day listings on a 18k LL bring em on, mostly se traffic with over 30k search strings my site is flowing

Yeah, what they said.

plateman 2009-08-25 10:10 AM

I think people have me figured wrong, I didnt ban any board members, and I think were all on the same page as when it comes to keyword blind recips

and for board members that I know I'll lift the console ban on those sponsors I have above my submit form

that way one category wont be a surfer ringer

also I got enough good submitters on the LL side of my site and plenty of gallery submitters, I just feel I need only more quality submitters

plateman 2009-08-25 10:18 AM

Also my site is not for sale and it will not become a tube

I feel just as bad as the next LL owner the way we were done the last couple of years

dirtymind 2009-09-08 06:54 AM

i will submit some clean hand made pages to your LL no problem. don't use any submit tool anyway

So true. One of the main reason I stopped submitting to many LL is because they all wanted their recip to be group with the major LLs. it wasnt worthed my time which I can spend on other projects that brings me alot more traffic with less frustrations..

Yo Plateman.....a bit of advise...

Keep your pimp hand strong. Don't alter your rules and let anything slide. In fact, add some extra rules like "my link must be on top of everything" or "write a unique review of my site every time you submit".

Once a webmaster has gone through the hoops of getting everything right. Reject his site again because he didn't follow your rules in the first place. In fact, ban his entire network block to teach him a lesson.

Plateman is all right |thumb
He's listed my sites for years and anyone who knows my stuff knows I sometimes bend rules a bit but I'm always honest. I don't sub to a lot of lists anymore, I don't build as many sites as I used to, but I still sub to Plateman.

Mike-mijen 2009-10-14 09:25 AM

Yes Plateman Has a good LL. I get strong hits from him.

Pagan 2009-10-31 11:16 AM

I still sub to Plateman, at least until this morning when I was subbing into a different category and hit his list for the recip... it is now reported by my browser as an attack site. Kind of makes me wonder what was added. I haven't been on his list for about a month now. Hmmmm... could that be where the submitters have gone?

my host says my box is infected and told me to read this

If your site has been infected with malicious iframe inserts and has been flagged on Google, you most likely have a virus on your PC. These exploits can keylog and steal FTP passwords, and use FTP to modify your files. This is _not_ a server exploit, it is your PC that is infected, or the PC of someone who has access to your account details. Here are the steps you can take to (hopefully) clean your PC.

1. Ensure you are using a _quality_ Anti Virus application. Avira (http://www.avira.com) and Avast (http://www.avast.com) are excellent free virus scan that detect these types of infections. Kaspersky (http://www.kaspersky.com) is an excellent paid AV app, and has a free online java scanner. If you are using AVG Free, or another free AV app, we reccomend you remove it first and then install Avira or a paid AV app. We also reccomend you install Malware Bytes (http://www.malwarebytes.com) or another quality Spyware scanner.

3. Once you have the above complete ensure these applications have the latest updates, and are set to auto update daily. Most should do this automatically, but you should check and make sure.

3. Do a quick scan with the AV and spyware apps. This should detect any running applications that are malicious or suspicious. Remove or quarantine them. Once the scan completes, you should reboot your PC and do a full system scan with the AV and spyware apps when that completes. Hopefully at this point your PC is clean. If not, you may want to consider a clean install of your PC, or search for more in depth exploit removal methods that are not covered here.

4. Provided your system is clean at this point, upgrade your Flash player. This is the most likely source of the compromise. You can do so here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/

5. Ensure your PC is set to automatically update daily and has all the most recent updates installed. If you use Firefox, ensure it's set to automatically update as well. If your operating system did not come from a reputable source you should consider purchasing a genuine copy or consider some of the freely available alternatives.

6. Change all of your passwords. Not just your passwords for your Amerinoc FTP accounts, but every single online account you have be it Outlook email, Web based email, your internet banking, your MSN accounts, and so on. Once your system has been compromised with a keylogger/password sniffer you must presume someone has access to all of them and it's only a matter of time before they realize it and begin exploiting it. Use _quality_ passwords. You can google "choosing a password" to find dozens of resources about this.

7. Be proactive. Change your passwords regularly, keep your systems up to date.

Damn, after reading all of the rules I am quite frankly afraid to submit to your site. As I understand it, if my newb self doesn't somehow meet your standards then I am going to be blacklisted everywhere. Just saying.

Do you take gallery submits?

gnarpen 2009-11-20 10:51 AM

I think itīs a shining example of a good rules page and he donīt have more rules than anybody else and his attitude is one of the friendliest I have seen in the LL/TGP circus |thumb
