Not sure if it can be considered real hoax even. I'm hearing this was more like THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN. She never existed so she couldn't be killed. The character was killed. Not sure on all the details. But picking up bits and pieces from various forums. Probably most people were thinking at least the girl who played her part died, but don't think this is case either.

Well if thats the case, he's a fucking idiot.

Most people and LS affiliates associated "Tawnee Stone" with the one girl who played her. It's not like a superman or batman character that have been played by numerous people, there was only one Tawnee.

Thus Steve's so-called inside joke is just that, an inside joke. The masses unfortunately aren't going to get it nor see it as funny in any way.

I've got a pretty offbeat sense of humor by most standards, but even I thought it was presented in poor taste.

It couldn't even really be considered an inside joke as he said. Problem is he made usre everyone thought he was talking about the model herself, even stating the models birth year. Not the year the charachter was created.

He wanted a little publicity and got it, but at what cost.

As you said, definitely a bad move.
