I've been updating my bannerserver and I am a little confused.

Is tranny gay?

Definently strange, but is it a gay thing or no?

I´ve always been told by someone that know tranny that its NOT gay.

In my opinion its true I can´t see a gay guy buy tranny porn but I can see a straight guy buy tranny porn out of curiosity its not as big a jump as to gay.

I've been told that tranny is straight (peronally I would like to see it in a category of its own lol).
I have a group of toplists and one of them is http://www.ClickForShemales.com - I don't have to send traffic to it because it gets more than needed from the other lists and my avarege click out ratio is 1:2 (I send out twice what I get in). I don't have any gay sites or gay link trades so it's all straight traffic - yet shemales is so popular.

The site looks great and is ready for promotion. Personally, I'm amazed at how good looking some of these tranny's are. The tranny in the second free video trailer on the front of the site has a beautiful face... it kinda surprised me that she's got a cock too. ;-)

This niche has always converted well for me...I've promoted SheMale sites via SE's and I'm not sure if it was more so gay or straight traffic that clicked through - maybe it's both, if for no other reason than a surfers curiosity.

Tranny's may be gay... but if you are trying to sell it... then you are hitting the "curious"... dont hit the gay market... they have seen it all before :D Its a great market if you can hit it!

From what I have read and seen a tranny is a woman traped inside a mans body. I am thinking a drag queen would be gay thing.

I once did a lot of reading on this to try to figure out the same question for my LL in the beginning
What I cam away with is that there are a few different categories of Trannys - the female who wants to be male, the male that wants to be female and the crossdressers that don't want the sex-change, just the "other side of things"

The male that wants to stop repressing the female side and get the change ops, is not necessarily gay, as a mater of fact there are many that are "lesbians" if you use that thought process - they still want to be with women, although many of the sponsors miss this fact when designing sites - they think they all have to be men that want other men - an old "religious upbringing" hold-over maybe?

Females that want to be males are a little rarer, although there is still a market for that type of site - and I have yet to see anyone push that niche - looking at it - it might be one to make some targetted niche money at :)

crossdressers seem to not have the commitment to the other gender but "get off" more on the eroticism of being in the other sex's clothes - although again some generalizations are made in the sponsor world about them being gay or lesbian - because thats all the sponsors have delved into - again - a niche that could probably be exploited

Well, what I have read I have learn this:

Crossdressers, or transvestites as we call them here are straight men who want to dress in women's clothes but are heteros. Most of them are married.

Drag queens are gays.

Shemales are men who live as women but don't want sex change opeartion.

Transsexuals are "men" who want to be women and want sex change operation or "women" who want to be men and want sex change operation. Male to female transsexual is called M to F, and female to male transsexual is called F to M. Before operation they are called pre-op and after post-op.

Men who want transsexuals are not gay in a matter that they won't usually go with men. They can be transsexuals or shemales themselves, just in closet still. Some of them will go out, some don't.

IMHO transgender sites are their own niche and it's not wise to put them under gay category. Surfers don't look there.

I don't usually submit my tranny sites to LL who put them in gay category, but today I made exception. That LL sends nice traffic, and I thought WTF, I can try this once.

Niche of it's own - most Def. How many transexuals do you see on a gay porn site?

I would say so - a bisex category would not be out of place in a gay link list at all - the straight out and out gays (excuse pun) would probably give MMF sites a miss - but Bi guys would lap em' up!

I've seen very few that have any idea what the surfer who is really looking for bondage and BDSM content is looking for but I can tell you that both parties in collars with a guys dick in the female "slave" mouth probably is the worst depiction of what they want - as soon as I see a banner like that on a sponsor page, I move on :) and so do the surfers

Tranny is NOT GAY!

If you are running a link list, put a separate section for it. While there may be some overlap in the audience, you will more likely alienate your audience looking for more traditionally gay sex links.

I think its hard when designing for niches that don't personally appeal to you, and when thinking about gays & trannys its easy to just have a black or white notion of sexuality... but its not that simple!

Some men may define themseleves as straight and maybe only have heterosexual sex, but might find trannys sexually appealing. The same might go for gay men.

Then there may be some people who define themseleves as "transgendered" or "transexual"... these have different meanings and implications, so don't just assume.

I think your best bet is to keep your gay & tranny sites/links/whatever separate as they are very different niches...

Think if some guy is looking for the gay teen niche aka "twink" and he sees a big banner with tranny on it! He will close that page ASAP and move on.

Also, if you look at gay culture as a whole trannys tend to be pretty separate or at least on the fringes. (drag queens do not equal trannies!) The major gay video companies like Falcon don't do tranny videos... its not much of an overlaping market.

I agree, I have lived with 2 gay men over the course of the last six years, roomies, etc. They have mixed opinions. But my own, I have known men into women and trannies but not men. Men who are openly gay, want men that look like men, not men that look like women. Alot of men into trannies are married and seeking out they're taboo. Anyway the older I get the gayer my friends become, I have been to many of gay bars and damn near conviced, there are some pretty hot fucking trannys out there, I just have to make sure what I drink, as too not get too confused, lol. I personally am not into it but sources say straight men go after women and trannys, gay men go after gay men.

Thats a big question. The short answer is no, tranny is not gay because someone who likes watching a tranny suck cock will not like watching a guy suck cock.

Lots of straight guys seems to like shemales. They definitely don't fall in the gay category but I think transvetites (hairy dudes in dresses) do.

From what I know Tranny is not gay.
