Tons of changes coming.. and a reason for my silence
 

Yeah, I have been way way way too quiet lately.. I do have a good reason for it... I am getting married!! Shocked the daylights out of me, too. I was interested in one man... had my head in the clouds over him. Thought he would be soooo perfect. Another sweet young thing I had been casually talking to kept getting closer.. and closer.. and then about 10 days ago asked me if I would marry him. Wait. it gets even better... I will be moving to Finland to be with him in about 2 months. Yeah... all the way across the Atlantic.. Even better.. he is 30 to my 57... hope I can keep pace with him. We have not met face to face yet.. we do have pictures.. he has heard my voice (and he heard that AFTER he proposed). Needless to say, he is the very sweetest man I have met, and we are disgustingly in love.

Even better yet.. I won't have to work a regular job any more. Not sure if I can work the first year I am there anyway, but... he makes enough to support both of us. Of course, I will be teaching him how to build websites... and I will set him up on one of my unused domain names.. So, I will be back very live and very active in just a short period... with help. I am still about 6 feet off the ground.. I get to move to Finland to be with the man I love.. I don't have to sweat mastering the language, and I may not be allowed to work for a year which means I can go back to building websites full time!!! Life is so sweet!!! |bananna|

I'm just going to say that it is fucking wild you haven't met this person face to face yet though. I'll be maybe a voice of reason and say maybe popping over to meet the person and see how things are over there before jumping in head first. That's just me though. Took me 6 years to pop the question and that's after I lived with her for a couple years.

Have you ever met someone and just .. clicked? Felt like you have known them all your life and then maybe even longer? Well... he and I are just like that. We were talking about it last night. He knew from our very first conversation that I would be his. I only saw the light about 2 months ago. Hard part for me was I was very much interested in one of our mutual friends, one much closer to my own age... Petri stopped me cold in my tracks one night and worked his magic. He loves me as I am, knows I don't know his language well but can learn. He's a total romantic that dances.. Our kink factor is nicely matched.. and yeah, he loves the work y'all do. He knows very well what I do and approves. Face to face? We are going to be even worse than we are now.. He did call me on my cell on Tuesday... and he sounds exactly like I imagined. Yeah, we are a couple of love-sick puppies.. I don't want it to wear off yet...

Thanks for all the kind wishes... I will get somewhat of a start here.. I gave my 2 week notice yesterday so I have time to pack and sell my stuff. The house may already be sold, one cat (out of 4) has a home, and the dog likely has a home. Having y'all for an anchor is going to help my sanity... I will have 90 days to get married or I have to leave the country for 90 days. He says no problem, and I believe him!

Hehehe.. I love it!!! But no.. he isn't into me pegging him at all.. yet.. he does find my collection of toys quite stimulating. There's definitely hope for him yet.

My last day in the states will be September 6th... as I will board a flight in Chicago that afternoon and fly to Stockholm. We are going to meet there on the 7th, and then take the lovely overnight cruise to Helsinki. If you have never taken this one, it is very lovely and romantic -- more one of our short cruise-type ships than a ferry. We will have 14 quiet hours at sea before arriving home. Then it is tackle the red-tape time for the first of our stops before we can be legally married (and I have a residence permit). I can hardly wait for this adventure to begin... The house isn't sold yet, but my best friend here will take care of all the loose ends before she flies to Finland for the wedding.

So, my mind is trying to grasp this concept.. that I will miss all the hysteria surrounding 9/11... that English will no longer be my primary language.. that in less than 2 weeks I will be in my new home and won't have to worry about missing my return flight!

I don't expect many changes on my websites - My PO Box here in Texas is paid through next summer, and my best friend can always deposit any checks for me. I will be keeping my US Bank account active at least until I can establish a Finnish account or find out more what I can and can't do. I did just get TGPX and have been messing with that, so things will actually improve shortly... I hope.
