NHL PLayoffs Internext Contest Finalized & Updated
 

As most of you know, at 6:30 PM EDT last night I finalized the entries & 1st round picks for our NHL Playoffs/Internext Contest.

I did get about 4 more entires after the deadline, but the rules stated that I had to have all the entries by 6:30 so those entries were not let into the contest.

I have also updated the page to show the status of the series - meaning, looking at my "shits & giggles" picks, you'll see:
Tampa Bay
Boston (1-0)
New Jersey
Toronto
Detroit (1-0)
St Louis
Vancouver (1-0)
Colorado (1-0)
& will do so each monring after the games. This is to help those of you that don't follow hockey too much :)

For those of you that missed this contest, everyone is eligible to enter the NBA Playoffs portion of the contest. The NBA Regular Season ends April 14th so I will have the match-up's online by the morning of the 15th & you will have until 1/2 hour before the start of the 1st game on the 17th to get your picks in.

I suggest you do not wait until the 17th to send in your selection :)

I sent it to your email addy, without all that in the end (?NHL...), since it bounced. Can I send it by ICQ?

The reason that the email link was set up with "NHL Internext Pool Selections" as the subject was so that all those emails were filtered into a different folder so that I could easily find them.

If you remove the subject, it goes into a different folder.

That being said, I did scan all my folders for picks at 6:30 on Wednesday night :)

As far as I know my email is working properly - I've been getting emails to the greenguy@greenguysboard.com email addy all week.

And as I've said numerous times before, the deadline for getting your picks in was Wednesday at 6:30 PM EDT - the NHL Pool is finalized & closed to new entires.

Oh yeah - the NHL Internext Pool Page has also been updated - looks like DrBizzaro & Ramster are perfect thru the 1st 8 games :)

Every one of my picks lost, I should have used Docholly's method of handicapping.

If nothing else happens I only hope Ottawa beats Toronto. Noone gives them a chance on the tv shows and I'm goddam tired of hearing about how Toronto has Ottawa's number. Where did Toronto finish last year in the playoffs? Fuckem!

DrBizzaro, we need Ottawa to win or else we're screwed. Fonz has the same picks as us with the exception being he took Toronto.

When the Bruins win the Cup this year I won't care who wins this contest!!!!!!!!!!

But unless Andrew Raycroft gets really hot I don't think they will quite make it this year...but they sure are giving us a good season aren't they :)

I'll blame it on not knowing a single thing about hockey - we don't even get ice way down here in south Texas unless its in our tea! hahaha

vicki - don't get too upset just yet - there's a lot of 2-1/1-2 series right now & I think there'll be at least 2 more after tonight :)

I decided to stocked up on margarita fixins so i'll be happy either way .. win or loose!

What's funny is Every higher seed has the 2-1 lead. Damn Belfour stood on his head last night stopping 37 shots.

Thursday April 15th - the NHL Internext Contest Page has been updated.

On a side note, the NBA Internext Contest Page is now officially open :D

Still don't understand it 100% but I seem to be doing quite well :)
So when exactly do you drop off? (forgive me for my ignorance :) )

Once a team wins 4 games, they win that series - everyone that has the most teams with 4 games won will go onto round 2 - when the next round starts is based on when the 1st round ends.

I've learned More Hockey this year than last.. and last year I learned a lot :)
I actually saw a play develop tonight and could predict the pass!!

Friday April 16 - NHL INternext Page has been updated.

You'll notice a change on that page - since the San Jose/St Louis series ended last night, that means that some people have a correct pick & others do not. The order of the table will now be based on the number of correct picks :)

2 more games tonight - 6 games tomorrow - it's getting interesting :D

Saturday April 17th - NHL Internext Page has been updated - 2 down, 6 to go :)

Well I've been mathematically out of this since the first series ended.
Linkster has all the other same picks as Adult Legal Jim and I, so after Linksters|raygun| Sharks destoyed my pick of St Louis, no matter what the best I could do is second best this round and so not advance

3 series are going down to the final game - 2 games tonight, 1 tomorrow - this should be very interesting :D

I do not know when the 2nd Round starts, but I'm guessing Thursday or Friday - as soon as I know I'll post it.

Wow, this could be over after round 1. Hopefully not! GO OTTAWA!!!

Yeah, ending the contest aftre the 1st round would suck.

Although, ending with me beating you in the 2nd round would kick ass. |roses|
