what do you hate the most about this business

Going through my lists each week looking for cheats.

I totally love what I do so the only thing that really pisses me off is the cheats but I do take pleasure on nailing them so I cant say I hate that part either :)

we call it policing

that would be at the top of my list to. Along with cheating sponsors and renewing domains

Doing submits is about as much fun as filling out tax forms but not that big a deal.

Doing reviews isn't very much fun but is part of the job so I just do it.

Renewing domains isn't a big deal, DirectNic has a good admin.

Mostly I just really hate doing "policing" everyday.

Cheating sponsors is a very big deal and can hard to catch.

Any kind of cheating.

The reaction that I get from people when I tell them what I do for a living…

Other then looking for cheats and doing reviews I would say sitting on my ass all day. Even when I was a corporate computer geek I could at least pickup the mobile and go for walk while talking business.

Now working means sitting on my ass all the time.

More of a list of frustrations, but...

- cheaters, spammers, hackers
- doing mundane, repetitious daily tasks (reviewing, policing, etc.)
- prioritizing "what to do next"
- having a never-ending "to do" list
- keeping up with rapid industry changes
- little in-person social interaction, ie. hermit syndrome
- carpal tunnel, blurred vision, hallucinations, etc.

I'm sure this could be said for any business, but I hate dealing with other people in the business and at the same time I love dealing with other people in the business.

Too many out there that will do and say anything to make a $. And I despise those who will say one thing and do another.

I also hate the idea that the government wants to tell me I am risking jail if I don’t jump through their hoops.

But the good still out weighs the bad.

No complaints about the work. I mostly love what I do. My only major gripe is the growing number of dickheads. I can even tolerate spammers because I pity their ignorance (they don't know any better). It's wanker webmasters I meet on this forum occaisionally. Most people have ban lists, I have a To Kill List (ala steve buscemi, in The Jerk) :D

I used to hate the daily grind of posting gallerys, but since I quit that crap, I've been in a constant state of bliss.

Google and yahoo bug me, but they also make me money, so I can't call that hate.

Sponsor games suck, but I don't expect anything else.

I owned small construction companies for 15 years- now that shit is something to fuckin' hate! The crooks we got in this biz are nothing by comparison.

nothing! not a damned thing... even the cheats are fantastic because it just illustrates how much freedom this industry has

the only thing that even comes close to being a drag is building and submitting free sites, but that can be fun if you take an extra couple of minutes and come up with a funny title or theme

Policing is a big pain in the ass, but it has to be done with every aspect of the Internet - mainstream or adult. Link trades go bad, people fuck up, internal 404's (not with me - LOL - but I assume there's some big sites that have that problem)

I don't mind reviewing that much, as it gives me ideas for upcoming sites :) But then again, some of the submits we get.... |banghead|

Submitting doesn't bother me either - it's the least I can do for free traffic :)

And, like Cleo, DirectNIC is wonderful for keeping my domains in order :)

I don't so much hate the reaction that I get when I tell people what I do, it's the ignorant people that ask "You don't do CP, do you?" or "I saw this one site once where this guy had a fish & the chick...." I also hate that, since I work on a computer all day, I'm instantly some sort of "expert" for my family & friend's computer problems. I often tell them that I also watch a large amount of TV so I can help them with their remotes if they wish :)

Spam sucks, but regardless of what the US Gov't does, it ain't going anywhere.

I hate that this is pretty much the only human interaction that I get on a weekly basis & that I rarely have a need to leave the house :)

Changing link codes sucks ass, but we all know that :)

But, all in all, I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing & can really never see myself "retiring" - what the fuck would I do with myself all day? :)

I can't think of anything I hate about this business...it rewards creativity, hard work, humor, interacting with people, etc., etc.

...AND no boss to suck up to!

I hate these and some were already mentioned:
-Changing link codes (I still find old non working links I'm losing money on)
-Cheaters! Mainly content and gallery theifs who steal work
-Building a gallery or site. Submitting isn't bad as I'm happy I'm almost done. It's the building part I dislike.

Other than that. I hate when I'm done my usual grind and have to decide what extra to do. Police my sites? Build again? Tweek? So much I want to do sometimes it's depressing deciding where to start. |jester|

adding links and looking through the gallery and writing a description and buying pictures and renaming them by hand and really dont like free sites the way I do them.. trying to make each site unique is a pain in the brain.. Pretty much all of the Bs work..

These are all challenges I enjoy :D I like taking a set of 20 pics and make them work for tgp galleries, then for free sites.

Funny, this is my first post and I'm starting off with what I hate about this industry. Or is that really funny? I guess not.

Anyhow, I hate it when people in the industry blow hot air up your ass. They make big plans to start a project with you, and then they flake. Flaking really annoys me. You have to weed through who is serious and who's just talking out of their bum.

On the flip side, there are a ton of people in this industry who will tell you straight up if they want to do biz with you or not, and I appreciate that. I like candor.

My replacement on the e-mailing and scheduling got into Tijuana today
so I won't have to worry about the e-mails' schedualing and girls blowing off dates much longer
I just need to train her, She's been running a massage parlor and is a licensed accountant so it shouldn't take long.

seems to me that as long a sponsors pay their affiliates no matter how they make sales and don't do a little policing' pricks like nkvd.us will be around

I truly love this business, and I don't really ever want to walk away from it. If I won the lotto tomorrow i'd be making plans for my next big adult project. This business allows, no encourages you, to be a jack of all trades. There are so many different aspects for you to work on/with it amazes me how someone can become bored. I know submitting galleries can get old. I did it too, Dame still does. But BUILDING those galleries shouldn't be boring at all. Pushing yourself to make something look cool. I am telling you when I work a video if I do one thing different, something I havent done before and I like it, I run around the office getting everyone to come take a look LOL

So I'll post this 'hate' for others who might be to kind hearted

2 things i hate most:

1. people who say they want to get in the business but aren't serious about it, just in it for "sex" or whatever...

2. people who make judgement on what i do, when they are working for very dishonest/immoral people/organizations

I hate hand-changing thumb names + the submiting thing isnt very exciting ;-)
Also sometimes I feel burnt with building free sites, and feel the need of exploring diffrent areas of this biz...I think I'll pay someone to design me a CHAMP site and will start promoting it...hmm a bit offtopic but wtf ;-)

Oh and there is such thing which I call beeing addicted to checking stats...its so unproductive but sometimes I cant help it :(
