How are your numbers these days?

These past few days remind me of those early days when I first started. I'm also beginning to suspect that someone's cut my throat with the search engines but that could just be my paranoia. Anyone else getting shitty conversions and horrible numbers these days?

Jakudza 2006-02-09 04:22 PM

there will be always someone who do really bad at the moment, some people will do average and the rest are getting great sales :D

if you check board archive such threads appear nearly every month..

of course bad sales are not motivating you to work.. but you should try to work even more.. it will pay of later :)

maybe you should try something different ? i mean try some other sites, try to find some other sources of traffic, try to change your se techniques :)

LowryBigwood 2006-02-09 08:32 PM

Numbers are as shitty as ever for me. :) Last month was one of my worst since early last year. Don't worry too much, just keep pumping em out. Hopefully, things will change for the better. ;)

Toby 2006-02-09 08:50 PM

Last month was my best ever. Sales so far this month have been keeping pace. I'm a bit apprehensive about the Olympics on TV dragging sales down for the next two weeks.

I run sales stats at the end of each month, covering the prior three month period. I use those stats over the course of the next month to decide where I may want to send more traffic, or cut back traffic.

plateman 2006-02-09 09:15 PM

I had such bad nov and dec that jan this year covered both those months.. for feb I am looking good and only had 1 day yesterday that only had a rebill... I know its very important to keep forging along when there's no sales - its hard... I did build in nov and dec when sales sucked not as much as I should but it helped now...

pornrex I know your a builder almost every day have you tryed movies? they do work better for me... do you sub to a few tgps? that has helped me.. for today I did bounce back with some new sales so I hope it keeps going as it would maybe be the best month for me...

What's really ironic in this whole situation is that I have NEVER started off a month so WELL as far as building and submitting is concerned.

I am going to heed Lowry's advice though. NOW is the time to see what I am made of. If character counts for anything I have no choice but to work harder - and that is what I am going to do, for certain.|headbang|

Congratulations to you Toby. You abviously are on a hot streak, all the power to you. I hope you can keep it going.|thumb

plateman: I guess I am going to have try other avenues that I really never gave too much thought to.|goodidea

Yea Rex...the ups and downs in this biz can make ya completely nuts at times |dizzy|

Best advice is keep on pumping out the work. Yes, it's a bitch to stay motivated to put in the hours when sales aren't coming in. But, you WILL thank yourself if you simply PUSH through the downtimes...it's the only way through...trust me...voice of experience...many many times over :D

Thanks for the motivational speech, Mr. Yum - I really needed that. Its good to know I am not alone when stuff like this happens and judging by the amount of "strength in character" types that there are in here, I must be resilient and ride through this. Although I am |dizzy| I know that perseverance will allow me to come out smelling like |roses|.

I am doing about average for a February!

Mr. Stiff 2006-02-10 01:30 AM

Januari was great, this month has been terrible for me..
Traffic is still going up, but sales are way down..

thruma 2006-02-10 04:17 AM

I found Nov and Dec were really bad then Jan it leveled off again.

A few people I talked to told me the same thing about their Nov sales but for most of them rebills were still good but sales weren't.

I figured people were just spending money on Christmas instead of porn.

flyeruk 2006-02-10 05:37 AM

Well, January was really good for me, much better than expected... BUT... February is looking pretty grim, I'm covering my outgoings, business and personal, but I'd rather see the big chunk of profit at the end of each week. lol

Sometimes I find if I work my butt off, it pays off a few weeks down the line.

My ratios for febuary are the worst i ever got since 97 NO F*CKING SH*T ! What the hell is goin' on ?
Something weird, vxsbill's sites are horrible except for one site.
(I thought they were scrubbing to much but this sponsor spoils my theory) Also, it sucks ass everywhere else (other billers, niches traffic source).

Xeno 2006-02-10 10:24 AM

What was weird for me is that December was really good for me, and january was just ok, and February so far is slow, although I can say that traffic has dramatically increased and continues to do so every month since I started 69toplinks in spring 2005. I am hoping with the new upgrade and updates I have coming in a few days will bring things up again by the start of March :)

Before I sold a link directory I had before (Im such an idiot for doing that) I've had some really LOW periods but others were very high which balanced everything out to a nice average. There are a few sites though that I promote on a regular basis because they give me great ratios and continue to do so.

I just have to keep working the 12 hours a day. In fact its 720am right now and I've been working on updates for like 16 hours now |loony| ...lol...I think this works out to $0.05 an hour for me |thumb

Anytime ya need a boot in the butt...feel free to give a shout :D

Fact is...I think we all need a swift kick in the pants from time to time. Damn hard to get that boot around to the backside to do it ourselves though...and if ya can pull it off...I think we have a new niche!

butterflybucks 2006-02-16 05:05 PM

I've actually had a nice year thus far. Definitely some waves, but still doing about the same by week end totals

LB 2006-02-17 12:52 AM

Jan was an utter disaster for me ... profit down probably 50%. For 2 years profit growth has been steady at 0-10% per month, and then BAM ... Jan it dropped suddenly.

Feb has picked up a little, but is still far behind last feb. But thats the joy of business ... you have to adapt and constantly change things ... and nothing stays the same.

Xeno 2006-02-17 02:31 AM

Could it some of the low sales be from some person who is flooding the search engines first several pages with their own funky URLs and site redirects to their affiliate pages on selected keywords? lol...seriously though, I see this in phases, and see many legit sites being pushed deep that normally held high positions. I bet whoever this person(s) is, they are making some coin.

Then search engines should be on the look out for these spam 'artists' because that is what they really are.

Xeno 2006-02-17 02:49 AM

You would think they would be on top of it, but I've seen this and a couple others I know told me they seen legit sites pushed deep, even big name link lists. I know sponsors wouldn't do anything because they are probably making a ton of $ ....unless enough webmasters made complaints. But, I have a feeling search engines wont' catch or even do much. It seems to come in phases.

I would assume this will have big negative effects on everyones stats and sales...although this is probably just one part of the equation. I'd be curious how everyone elses stats are over a quarterly period and compare it to last year at this time.

Toby 2006-02-17 03:15 AM

I'm hoping that the full rollout of BigDaddy will help slow these guys down some.

Papa 2006-02-17 11:41 AM

You know what i think ?
1) SlowDown from the holidays (guys getting their bills)
2) Olympics

PR_Tom 2006-02-17 12:29 PM

I'm earning more $/click this month than last month so far. There's been some poor days, but typically I'm ending up each period with about the same number of sales and $/click.

For instance yesterday was poor, only 16 cents per click average. Today though is doing great, 39 cents per click so far.

plateman 2006-02-17 02:20 PM

knock on wood been steady all this month and had a nice sale day yesterday and today is looking promising....|bananna|

Spammers are feeding new crap domains to the search engines every hour, and I see no evidence of the major search engines automatically filtering out these new spam sites. Many (but not all) dissappear after a while though, so I know the spam reporting does work. Still, too many holes in the SE algos.
