Workflow of a rookie freesite submitter

I'm still working out the best way to be an efficient freesite submitter. So here's what I've done, and I'd like to know if I'm going about it the right way.

1. Create the freesite (cut clips, make thumbs, index, main, gallery1, gallery2.html)
2. Research and find link lists to submit to
3. Copy their recips and add them to the recip table (I'm using 9 recips per site)
4. Bookmark the "Submit" page of each link list
4A. Place the 9 bookmarks in a folder called "submit1"
5. Open a new Firefox window
6. Go to the bookmarks folder "submit1" and "Open All in Tabs"
7. One tab at a time, submit

At this point, I've submitted to 9 sites and it's time to go again...

8. Copy the freesite to a new folder and clear out the recips table
9. Repeat steps 2-7 (except make a new bookmarks folder called "submit2")

Questions:

1. Does this look right? Do you see any major flaws in my workflow?

2. Do link list owners mind if my freesites have the same recip table on every submission? For example, SiteA will always be in a table with SiteB, SiteC, etc. And SiteX will always be in a table with SiteY, SiteZ, etc. Is this a problem?

Thanks!

That all sounds about right to me. The only thing I'd maybe do is increase the recips to 12 or so per site. That's just a personal preference though. I've been doing this for a long time and currently use 20 custom test recips per site. That's probably too many for someone starting out. Sounds like you're on the right track. Good luck with your sites. :)

That sounds about right, but there are a couple of points to make your life a bit easier. (Maybe, and I am sure some of the elders :) will give you better advice)
You can have more that 9 recips on a free site, look around and if you use custom text recips you can have 20 or more recips on one table. (Cuts down on the number of mirrors you make)
Create a html file with your recip tables (one for every niche) and then is just a matter of copy paste for new sites.
Copying the free site to a new folder, I hope you only copy the html files, the thumbs and content can just stay in one folder (just update the links for the mirrors)

I hope that helps some, and welcome to the board (you found agreat place to learn). Good Luck!:)

1. Write down what niche it's for in a document

2. Research what LL's are good for that niche or what LL's has a category for your niche

3. Copy the webmaster page/submit page of each LL in to the document
3b. Paste the recip code underneath the submit link in the document OR paste it in to a recip table if the basic layout will be the same for all your sites.
3c. Put the sites in groups of 9

4. If you are making a site with a 9 recip table, find 9-18-27-... sites. Stop when you think you've had, don't overload you already from the start. Get a feel for things. If you think it's a piece of cake after submitting a few sites, add another 9 sites.

5. Create your sites, mirrors and recip tables.

6. Time to submit. Go to your document and click or copy/paste on the first LL. Fill out the form and paste in the link to your first mirror.
6b. Repeat

That was my basic workflow.

The document I used was a premade HTML document (Example: http://www.fresh-amateurs.com/amateu...y/sublist.html ), since I always submitted to the same sites for niche XX or YY. No need to create that document more than once then. Only need to update it if one disappears or they don't list me.

Only thing I changed in my document was the URL of my mirrors and what the mirror was called.
Then it's just to upload everything and open up my document and start submitting by copying your mirror link and then click on the LL link.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the input. You've all been really helpful. I've got a few adjustments to make. I'll up the number of recips per site once I feel more comfortable with the process.

Thanks again everyone.

hey bro...I made a little project to help with submitting which has most of the big linklists and their recips... check out these links:

http://www.quickrecip.com/?q=LinkList for direct submit links

http://www.quickrecip.com/?q=BuildRecip for recips

best of luck to you

Thanks, I'll look into it. It looks very useful.

Id say that youve got it, and I agree with the others to use a larger recip number 16-20 (cuts down on mirrors) and create pages for your recips so you just copy and paste the recip tables right into each index page.

Best of luck

I think there are some tools out there to help automate the process, I wrote my own script to do all the recip placements and mirroring. I would also suggest getting RoboForm to help with the hand submitting.

Yep, I couldn't do without Roboform. There's a free version but the Pro version is money well spent. :)

Thanks for the advice. I'm on a Mac, so no Roboform. I'm considering getting the Mac equivalent, 1Password.

And I've since upped the recips to 21 on my warning. Thanks again.

I just discovered http://informenter.mozdev.org/index.html, a firefox extension that saves time with forms. It's not as powerful as robo or 1password, but it's free.

I would personally add
10. Refuse to spank your.|monkey until you get your site up and submitted to link lists(or at least until you get something done for the day). Then you can reward yourself with.......well.......|monkey.
The fucked up thing is, I get way more done and I think I might write better text on a 'full tank' so to speak. Also, just in general, when your in your sponsors content section, don't spend all day looking for that super hot teen or other content that you think has to sell like crazy....because it won't. Just grab like 5-10 sets without even looking at em! Resize them, rename them and whatever else you do and just start building.I think I heard |greenguy| GG say something along these lines a while back and it was good fucking advice!
