Alpha Red Clients...

If you're hosting with Alpha Red, you should probably read these articles:
http://www.linuxinsider.com/story/security/64664.html
http://www.redorbit.com/news/technol...ers/index.html

A lot of people are warning AR's clients to back-up their files and migrate to another host. Apparently, their client admin/support page has been pulled and the CEO is considered AWOL.

Good luck to ya |thumb

BTW, this message was not brought to you by the fine folks at http://www.colo-cation.com but I bet they can assist you in your immediate needs.

May I say bizump? And yes, colo-cation is good.

AR always struck me as a company that would one day implode.

Mr. Blue 2008-10-03 11:25 PM

Looks like CCBill/Cavecreek is buying them.

Which is curious in itself as its the home of a lot of malware fuckers. Why CCBill would want them as clients certainly makes me uneasy.

HowlingWulf 2008-10-09 02:21 PM

Uh-oh, alphared.com and my servers all down right at 2:20pm EST. Yay.

HowlingWulf 2008-10-09 02:27 PM

Lol ok their tech support says a portion of their network is down for 'emergency maintenance'.

Mr Exotic 2008-10-09 07:04 PM

I saw all this a few days ago, looked up all I could about it, and from what I could find it seems as if things should remain the same. Just a few days ago (right after I found out) I logged into my admin and made a ticket that was taken care of within 30 minutes. I noticed my sites have been pretty slow this afternoon, but not completely down, and cant get shit to upload. Then I see this thread.

As of right now I can get alphared.com to work, but cannot get logged in, when I try to log in, it just times out. Hopefully this whole mess gets taken care of. I've been with these guys for years, and have almost always been 100% satisfied.

Nice spin. Cogent pulling the plug is certainly an emergency, but not exactly maintenance.

Also, as long as were talking Alpha Red news, the buyout deal with CWIE (CCBill) fell through.

Well it appears to be much more of a dire situation now with alphared, seems everything will be completely gone.

Maybe you guys should unmark Andy's message as spam. Whether you guys like them or not, they are making me a backup of all my stuff, backing up nearly 100gigs of my shit for free, whether I choose to go with them or not, they are really saving my ass.

Like them or not, they are really helping me out. I've been with alphared going on 3-4 years I think, and then bam all of a sudden I'm in danger of losing years of work and basically being ruined.

Just read that today...the whole thing is seriously weird and I'm sooo glad I'm not an Alpha Red client at this moment.

I`m AR costumer. Thanks god my serwer is up and I had time to make full backup. I`ve found interesting trade for this who used alphared servers - http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showth...ht=alpha%2bred

I should also mention that due to a certain situation, AlphaRed cannot be bailed out. So dont be hoping someone will come along and buy them up. The last one that tried that lost about $2 mill I think. And the guys there are exhausted, if they sit down, they chance falling asleep. So be patient with them. They are working long hard hours..... for free.
What a mess :(, All night backup ....

I can see what you get paid to do all day.

Why was Cave Creek selling them bandwidth or did I misread?

tickler 2008-12-29 01:25 PM

Well they are now bankrupt & want money!

Adult hosting company AlphaRed has officially closed.

Company officials sent a letter to clients on Tuesday, stating AlphaRed entered Chapter 7 bankruptcy that morning. The letter noted that actions would be taken to "liquidate the assets of AlphaRed and collect past due balances from AlphaRed's current and former clients."
