Google Images traffic

Waht's everyone's opinion on Google Images traffic? I seem to be getting a fair amount of traffic from them, but I can't really tell if it's converting at all or just wasting bandwidth.

It depends on what keywords the images are pulling. If the image places for keywords like "tight jeans", which sometimes happens, then the result isn't too pretty.

It's better than no google traffic at all.

I do design to attract google images traffic, which means designing a page that invites the image surfer to move onto deeper pages in the site, to find more images.

In some situations I use a framebreaker script, to aid this process.

Trying to send an images surfer straight to the sponsor from the image search doesn't seem to work well.

How do I get the image page spidered? Does it come naturally after being submitted?

I created a site with a bunch of images specifically for this. Google picked up the root, but I am not seeing any image traffic at all.

On other domains I am seeing thousands a day.

Vink 2005-10-08 11:34 AM

Alt tags help, also if you name the image the search term you're going after. Like big-tits.jpg.

Bill 2005-10-08 01:16 PM

Like Vink says, image names and alt tags are basics. I think it works better to have one or two pics on a page rather than a bunch, but that's just an impression. Text on the page describing 'photos', photographs, pics, pictures, and images. Headlines under the images describing their content.

Another impression I have is that it takes a little longer to be included in images.google than in the text database.

kit 2005-10-08 08:20 PM

I aghree, the images database inclusion is much longer than main databse.

Overall productivity is a middle between SE and TGP traffic.

mikeyx 2005-10-08 10:02 PM

i had an image of this tight ass teen , hottie on there man that shit was sending me like 2k a day LOL

MrYum 2005-10-08 10:12 PM

Yep, google images traffic certainly isn't anything to turn down. I've got a few domains that pull several thousand hits/day from it. Sometimes it sells, sometimes it don't...ahhh, the adult biz :D

Beano,
Something you might want to consider. Make a filter site that is nothing but join for free or free ezine sites. Make the site navigation extremly easy. On your html pic page top ad to sponsor, bottom ad to your filter site that is join for free. When I had a lot of images traffic, I could average $.05 per click which is pretty good for me.

Halfdeck 2005-10-14 11:39 AM

I haven't been keeping track of SE traffic for a month, but I noticed some fresh google image traffic today.

khs 2005-10-15 05:07 PM

I've been getting good amounts lately a few hundred a day I just kill the frame and send the clicks straight to my site

kit 2005-10-19 08:23 AM

Interesting trick, do you think Google will not penalize for this?

rscott 2005-10-24 10:23 AM

Check your Cpanel for the"Hot Link re-Direct" option, easy to send them wherever you want. How could you be penalized?

Altheon 2005-10-24 12:20 PM

I get a ton of that traffic but I can't really say that it makes sales. I'm glad to see others are getting something out of it.

Same here! I see sometimes it produces sales sometimes just nothing so I left it for google to give me some free hits.

ronnie 2005-11-09 08:39 AM

if your worried about wasting bandwidth you shouldnt be a webmaster.. Seams a good % of the traffic we all recieve is from fellow webmasters just looking for ideas to include on their own site. |clown|

I spend half the day refreshing my competitors tgp pages in an attempt to drive them out of business.
