Can anyone explain back links to me
 

I've been seeing and hearing about back links for a while now, but not really sure what they are and more so what they are used for. Anyone shed any light on them? Thanks

Back links are when a site links to your site via anchor text and your url. In a nutt shell it's used to give your site se relevance.

The more quality oneway back links to your site, the more preference your site is given in the rankings.

I'm pretty sure that's why niche recips were invented... is that correct?

Niche recips aren't one way links. SE's started to "penalize" all these A-B-A trades a couple of years ago. Don't know why I still use them to be honest :)

Cool Thats what I thought too.

It's curious but it works for me. My sites went up to PR2 yet I only have A-B trades for the most. I must have only one or two A-B-C trades.

think of them as a vote for your site with the search engines.

backlinks are soooo important. :)

Backlinks are votes to your site. The more the better!

when you first look at a link .. you see the front.. if you walk around it then you can see the back ..

Niche recips are used to target the traffic better. Makes for better sales.
