I just replaced my old 100 mbs home network with Gagibit and it is fast. Now I can store movies and a bunch of content on the other PC use it almost as fast as having right my normal hard drive.

100 mbs was way to slow for that and even though I love my external drives for backups they're too slow to use for every day work.

1 Cat 6 X-Over Cable $24.00

Total price for connecting these computer was $82 and I'll save plenty of time moving stuff around.

If you have a spare computer with some disk space think about Gigabit becasue it ROCKS!|greenguy|

get an interface that has 1000mbps throughput and watch how much more you enjoy it. chances are you are only running it at 1/4 or 1/2 capactiy at best.
