AVS still worth doing?
 

Before I spent the last 2 years offline, I used to have 100's of AVS sites and an AVS linklist, off which I used to make lots of money.
My question is if it's still profitable to make AVS sites.
I heard alot of changes have taken place, but I have no idea what happened to the AVS's.
Any AVS you would recommend?

I used to do well with SexKey, but it seems not many LL's list them anymore.

Do they still convert well for you and how's the traffic?

I currently only have 3 sites with them but they do pretty good.. All 3 of them convert under 1:20-30

I just checked the stats on one of my domains and SexKey has sent a total of 3,690 hits so I guess the SK/LL traffic is good. I haven't really monitored the other domains, but I can always check if you'd like.


I don't know of any LLs that will list SexKey.. :(

why dont Link Lists allow SexKey anymore ?

Do you rely solely on the traffic SK sends to make SK sales, or do you pump traffic to your SK sites from your free sites or by other means?

My primary goal would be to sell SK passes, and I suppose the traffic from the SK linklist already has a password?

Or do you just use the traffic SK sends to make upsells?

3000+ hits is not bad, I don't remember them sending that much traffic a few years back.

I try to get as much as possible from both actually. I have my sexkey sites listed on my main traffic source domain and they all link to each other. I don't rely on the SK/LL traffic to send sign-ups because as you said, they probably already have a password.

I checked my other domains and they both had a little over 1,500 hits from SK. :)

i just bought a great avs domain name and i'm gonna start building tons of SK sites and link them all on my root domain in a sort of "LL"
And I did find quite a few LL's that still accept SK sites :-)

Hope you don't mind me jumping in and asking a question.

Do you promote more than one aen, or do you find it best to stick with just the one (ie sexkey)?

I still make sites for CyberAge pretty much every day.

kristian..if you have time then it is good to do sites for different programs and see what works best for you. I don't have time to do more than one and Cyberage has been good to me for years now so I concentrate on them.

Adult Check keeping $1,000 a month worth of my rebills when they closed their doors left a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to AVS.

understandable but through the years I have had PPS sponsors disapear and never pay me..i didn't give up on the model.

A few people don't list CyberAge sites anymore either because of a few things they did.

CyberAge is good other than that though... Or at least when I using them a lot they were. How much traffic does their link list send these days Sarah?

exactly...they are doing something right and no I don't work for them in anyway..I just have no problem being vocal when someone runs a good service.

Yeah, because of the middle page thing pretty much but I have more or less kept with LL's that are AVS specific and then gone and did my own foot work to find niche related hard link trades.

Their own link list is doing pretty good. I pretty much use it to bring traffic to my preffered sites that I use to direct traffic to my platinum sites. The thing they did recently with linking your sample thumbs to your listing has increased my link list traffic a bit. However, the way to make money is still to find a niche, own it on the AVS and then promote your platinum sites off the link list as well. Heck, one of my best selling sites isn't even on the link list because my host went down for too long and it got delisted. I have been too lazy to go in and get it re-listed but it still makes sales every month and rebills because of the work I did to promote it beyond their link list.

This is as near I get to being my own sponsor before I go the full out paysite route.

A great thread! I asked a similar question on another board the other day. I have some freenetpass sites from a couple of years ago that still make sales, but I haven't figured out how the whole thing works now.
