LL Owners...

Do you require an EXIT link? I've been thinking about doing away with it on some of my pages but I don't want to chance if it's necessary to get listed.

jennym 2004-08-17 12:34 AM

I don't require them. They came from a porn site, they clicked on a porn link, and if they don't like it, they can click "back" or exit the browser. :)

Ghost&Lliandrin 2004-08-17 12:55 AM

We don't require it but we do think that it's a good idea unless you don't ever intend to get Search Engine traffic. It just helps to show that you are doing the best you can to keep those out that shouldn't be there by giving them an alternate place to "escape" your porn. :)

Why would you want to do away with it?

I mean- if people really want to exit they will just hit the back button or click on a bookmark link, or type in a new url in the browser.

On the other hand, you can use the exit link to send them to alternative sites in order to get traffic or potential sales.

Link Fabulous or Premium Sex Links do not require an exit link. We figure our listed sites come from us... so they were at a porn site to begin with.

Greenguy 2004-08-17 09:11 AM

I don't think I require one, but I always thought that a warning page had enter & exit links, along with some warning text :)

Cleo 2004-08-17 09:20 AM

I could care less if there is a exit link or not. In fact I could care less if there is warning text or not. In fact I could care less if you have hardcore on your warning page.

I guess you could say that I'm a very caring person or not.

You just don't seem to give a shit! |bananna|

I'll experiment on a site or two without an exit link then since it seems to be ok. ;)

Tuna 2004-08-18 03:49 AM

i use them when i submit. but dont require them on my link lists

Mateusz 2004-08-18 06:09 AM

Don't forget it could bring you some extra bucks.. especially if you link to your non-adult site and replace pure "exit" with ie. "exit to the best t-shirt shop" or whatever.

Of course less than 1/100000 of all visitors will click it but, as someone else said, you need only one click to get a sale

Personally I don't require them

Mishi 2004-08-18 06:12 AM

I don't require them, but if you have one, it should go to non-adult.

As far as I'm concerned, the exit link is a CYA (Cover Your Ass). It's not MY business to muck with YOUR CYA.

Actually, I've been surprised at the number of hits that reach my (sucky) exit site. I just haven't figured out the perfect place to send them yet. (Since I haven't made a sale.)

There may be a market there....what exactly do you sell to people who show up at what is obviously a porn site, yet choose to hit the exit link? Does Church Lady have any vids for sale?

No, I don't require one.

Why you ask? Because I don't use them myself. :D

I use topbucks non-adult sites (they got 10 currently and even got FPA's) but people sell various things... t-shirts, music, mobile stuff

Even if ratio sucks you don't loose anything... I don't belive someone clicks "exit" button becouse he read warning and decided not to enter... if someone is not interested he will surely come back for porn..

finnbear 2004-08-18 06:58 AM

I don't use exit link anymore. I used to and I linked it all kinds of places from hangover pills to mp3s but I never had a sale so I thought WTF, let's concentrate to sell porn. Surfers know how to shut the window if they want to go away.

no but a really scarry evidence eliminator page has worked for me once or twice :D

if they are freaked out enough to actually click the exit link i would assume they are pretty worried bout folks finding out they were there LOL

Heh heh...maybe I should try that. TA, many LLs say they won't list you if you promote those softwares - does that include the exit link too?

RawAlex 2004-08-18 11:16 AM

I don't require an exit link, but if you have a warning, it would be nice to have a way to "leave" - even if that is "if you are not 18, close your browser now". A warning without a way out would be pointless, no?

Alex
