You may want to use a virus checker for your email program.
|
Hi, surfn i have that, but my virus scanner drives me nuts with poopin in, i just got the advice to email roger.com with the info so they could check
|
Like I said before, I get spammed more by my own email address than any else :) Spamcop has a cool little feature to tell you where the mail really came from.
|
Nice one jim, i will definitly look into that, i am just a bit lost because i just had a 6 weeks holiday .....forched by my hubby and kids!!!
|
Did you do a source via the email or did you right click and choose properties .If it was just a source on the email itself your not going to see the true info. Just a thought.

Yes, see if there is more to the header, that looks like a partial header. Based on that header info alone it looks like it might be a fully spoofed email, which is somewhat rarer.
Usually by looking at the full header you can get some clues as to where the email actually came from. A fully spoofed header implies a more dangerous payload to the virus, probably including a full backdoor and code to make the infected machine a zombie. |
I get a bunch of mails like that each day and just add them to my junk filter.
I love it when they look like they came from me. |
There is little or no use tracking where these virus email come from.. 99% of the info is spoofed..
Just delete them and move on... If you are getting heaps, it just means some newb with a fast connection, who has your email in his cache/history/address book/etc, has executed the virus, and doesn't know they are sending them. Get a decent AV program and get back to work;) http://www.grisoft.com/ DD |
My Isp earthlink has a good built in virus filter that does the job for me.. Once in a while one will come through with a attachment that looks like a virus and I just get out the |lightsabe
when klez came out and I was a online newbie my mail box was set to preview the email - lets just say I reformated a couple of times learning how to use norton and config my mailbox.. |
Get a decent AV program and get back to work
http://www.grisoft.com/ DD I agree 100% it will find virii that nortons misses and will save ya from nasty java trojans bigtime. I have mine set to update everydate and scan once a night. I bought the retail because I liked the free ver.Mainly a way of supporting the author because the free ver is great |

Getting spammed with emails full of viruses are a part of running an online biz unfortuneately. I get them from me, people I know and companies. It's all spoofed and obviously not from myself and these other people.
Delete them and move on. I check my emails daily and use Thunderbird rather than Outlook (you couldn't pay me enough) and just delete the garbage. |

I think DD is right the person who's puter is infected is someone who submit to linksites because all the emails i get have all the names of most linksites on it |
bloody viruses and spam email are now taking up 70-80% of all email traffic on the internet, can you believe it!!! Unfortunately, the reality is that the only thing to do is delete it.
I have upgraded to Outlook 2003 (aka Outlook XP) and find their internal spam filter works about 98% of the time, I highly recommend it now. Even though it is an ms product, it is developed by the ms office team who imho still create some quality programs. cheers, Luke |
