I Need help choosing AVS
 

I have a site which is about pornstars, grouped by name.
Every girl has a shrine, with text-links to galleries (which are not mine).

Now I think about replacing text-links with thumbnail previews ... and I think people would pay for seeing them.

What AVS should I use?


Requirements:

- linking other domains should be allowed ('cause I just have thumbnails, not galleries)
- also links to free hosts should be allowed (some of the galleries are free hosted)
- text-linking to paysites & videostores should be allowed (like 'More Ember pictures - www.embersex.com !')
- free hosting OR recurring $ monthly/every year (thumbs will take lots of bandwidth)

Ofcourse I don't want an old AVS with millions of users and no free hosting - they would just drain my bandwidth. Also having visitors those buy lifeage membership is bad if AVS doesn't offer free hosting.

Yes, I'm talking about LOTS of thumbnails.

Okay, first things first, are you saying the thumbs do not click to a full size pic? If this is the case, I think you can probably forget it. I run one of the most webmaster friendly AVS's around, but I am not that friendly.

Now, if I misunderstood, come on over, we have freehosting and a pornstar category.

Also, thumbs do not take that much bandwidth, and if you truly have that many, break your standard sites up into smaller ones, 20-40 pics per site. It gives you more opportunity for signups, and more ops to be picked up by SE.

Umm gotta second DangerDave on that one Vatsis, if I understand what you are looking for, you want to put up some pages with thumbnails (which use very little BW) and link to everyone elses BW, and get paid good money, and recurring money.

If you find it by all means post it, cause I haven't seen that avs program out here yet.

Perhaps its time to draw back and punt...you might wanna decide how else to promote sites. There are a vast number of options available to you depending on what you have content wise and hosting wise.

vatsis, go get yourself some paid hosting and you will have all your problems solved. AVS sites do not use a lot of bandwidth and hosting them should not cost you that much per month.

one thing you will learn if you stay in this business is that you have to invest some money to make some money.

ok, firstly, scrap that plan. it sounds like you're planning to rip of other peoples work and i dont know of any avs that wants to be associated with such an unreliable and questionable business model.

secondly, join cyberage.

use their free hosting and free content.

thirdly, join deluxepass,

use their free content and hosting.

fourthly, make some $ from those sites ( it's all profit)

and last but not least, buy yourself some hosting & content!

try and think long term. ( i've never made a loss with my avs ventures and i've hosted it all myself and spent $1000's on content.)

Let me rephrase.... (it's hard to be Finn :)

I don't wish to hotlink. The thumbnails are targeted to galleries (not pictures!), those are submitted to my system by gallery builders. So, I'm just talking about a normal text-TGP. I'm not ripping of those gallery submitters, they get traffic and make good money. But I'm not getting much from sponsors, I offer too much free stuff.

I've been thinking about upgrading my old-fashioned text-TGP to a thumb-TGP.

It's not about bandwidth why I want AVS - from 1,200 interviewed 1:7 would be ready to pay $20 each year to see the postings with thumbs (no longer text descriptions). They are very faithfull visitors, so I wish to have recurring income.

So, spam me with AVS those offer fast & free hosting and permit having galleries outside their server. Or do they really all want galleries to be hosted on their servers?

No they want them hosted on yours if you are submitting the site, or on theirs if they are doing free hosting for you. I dont know one, nor has anyone else mentioned one that is going to allow what you are requesting.

Every AVS has it's own set of rules and in fact those rules have recently gotten a lot stricter in the past months.

Most AVS companies want you to actually own the rights to the content. Hey if you find one that doesn't care about it and is selling password protection to someone elses content then I'm sure that more then a few content providers will shut them down pretty quickly.

I've never seen an AVS that will allow you to fufill the content requirements by linking externally. You would need to upload the galleries to the AVS's free host & link to them that way.

Even so, most premium programs with monthly recurring memberships are going to have tight restrictions on the number of links you can place within the site. ProAdult won't allow any linking to membership sites. CyberAge won't allow more than 5 banners per site (1 banner OR text link per page).

You'd be better off building regular sites that upsell to a sponsor & link back to your free site, driving more traffic to it.
