Ain't GFY are owned by Lensman? I don't usually rant about sponsors on boards but I'm one of the foreign webmasters whom he didn't pay. I heard it's his business practise. Pay for US webmasters, forget foreigners.

I just remind that one day I come to USA and they sell baseball bats there and I'm going to be there long enough to visit his office.

They are a content provider out of Miami Florida.

They are also multi personality spammers and idiots that have gotten themselves banned out many boards.

We touched on this a little on the radio last night. Again, other than people that have not been through this all before, the only people telling you the sky is falling is people that have something to gain. Charging for proper documentation is only one way to profit from this fear.

Still paying my bills and making me money. STILL because of the decisions I made that my competitors could not and now they are gone. This is just one more of those decisions. I don't care if you like it or not. This is one of the decisions I must make to secure my future.

If he always offered the option of buying the IDs with content... and is simply maintaining that policy, I can't see why people are complaining or accusing him of profiteering from panic... maybe if he had put the price up now.. but he hasn't has he?

I've only been in this business since Nov '03. At first it was very part-time (I don't know of ANY webmaster that started out BANG full-time right away) because I was feeling my way around still.

But as time went by, I came to realize that the ALMIGHTY attitude (ALL of the 'so-called' webmasters basically live in GFY-land have this trait) they posses, well, they can 'collectively' keep it.

I have been coming back here more and more simply because all you guys and gals have given great tips, good advice, and even in some cases tough love.

Everything I have learned has been from GG & J's message board.

Everything new, cool, do's, don'ts, its all here. It has been extremely helpful, I have improved and I will continue to improve.

There's no need to blah blah blah about those blah blah blobs in GFY-land.

GG&Jim's as I like to call it rocks. Period. End of story.

Keep 'em cummin,' right?!

I think he should provide the IDs if the law passes. People buy content expecting it to be legal. Paying extra for it to be legal stinks. Doesn't much matter to me, I don't have any of their content, and after reading this would doubt if I would buy any.

EXACTLY!!! It should be illegal for him to sell us content that doesn't follow under the law. His prices are good so simply put the prices up a bit. Then noone would complain.

What do you do with a guy who has two separate price plans? One for those running a legal shop and a second for those who are running from the law.

Agree it takes a certain sort of person to work how he does... but, unless I don't have the full story, he really does seem to be acting within reasonable ethics to me.

He says there was an option to buy his full catalog for $1000 or for $5000 and the more expensive version was higher quality and included docs.. I realise there was no imperitive to pay 5 times the amount for docs 12 months back.. but it was still a choice the buyer had.

Just because it turns out that higher prices turned out to be the better choice for American's doesnt make it Eric's bad.. in fact it makes me think he is probably a bit smarter than we give him credit for a times if this was part of his business plan with that cheap content run to start with.

he made a bet that he could get market share with cheap prices and webmasters might have to come back one day to buy those docs and make his profit back up.

Not arguing it's a sleazy plan if that was the plan.. but I don't see any reason why he should give anyone the extras for free now legally or even ethically... It was the webmaster's choice to deal with that idiot,... they paid low prices happilly with no documents.. whining that that it is illegal now just makes me want to laugh. If webmasters didnt give a toss about really finding out if the model was of age then....... it's hard to feel sorry for them now Im afraid.

Now all that is assuming Eric is telling the truth and really always has charged extra for docs. If he is just twisting it that way now... I take it all back ;-)

I don't know anything about these guys but from what I am reading I agree with Opti.

If it did cost $5 when they original purchased then I don't see a problem with is still costing $5.

On the other hand if this all does go into effect then he should drop the without docs option and price.
