Can I send surfers to a FPA before the sponsor?

Hi all,
Some feedback needed here. I have a certain sponsor who uses CC Bill as a processor. They are my best sponsor by a mile, but there is 1 small problem, the default billing option is for a single month. Looking through my stats for other CC Bill sponsors, there is a much, much higher member retention as they use the recurring option as the default. Now I don't know if that is down to sheer laziness on the cardholders part or not, but I'd like to find out :)
This particular sponsor has given me a referral code which gives the recurring option first, so I can see what the score is. However, as it jumps straight to the join page, I'm not sure I'd get that many sign ups. What I would like to do, is on the sponsor link send them to a folder with the FPA, and have the code there that takes them to the join page.
That would mean a folder jump, from www.xxx.com/freesite/ to www.xxx.com/fpa/ so that I don't need to have the FPA in every freesite I build for this sponsor.
So basically, is this allowed or frowned upon by LLs? btw the FPA is an exact replica of the sponsors 1st page, it just cuts out the 2nd page and goes straight to the sign-up form.
Thanks for your input.
Jel

You can send it to a FPA if you like. As long as you don't put up any nasty stuff on there :)

yeah you can pretty much send traffic wherever you like as long as it is legal... and using an FPA before the sponsor can be beneficial because you can use/control exit consoles if you want to and also put up more ads that might get people clicking around too

As long as the surfer is clicking a "to sponsor" type link instead of a blind link, that's fine by me. You can send your 3 outbound links per page pretty much anywhere you like as long as it's not illegal porn.

you should do this
even if you just put a meta refeash there

1) most ad blockers look for sponsor links and block images assoited with those links

2) it makes it very easy to change link codes

3) it lets you keep your exit traffic

4) it builds google pr to your fpa

5) it lets you track your reffers better

I hate it when they do that.

Offering webmasters 50%-60% of recurring and then offering the surfer a 1 month non-recurring option.

Damn, why I was sending them straight to sponsors ?
I'll send them to FPA's from now on !

Do you people put some more teasing text along with the FPA or is it just plain image ? Or maybe its a big page stacked with text and other thing s?

1 - so you think it would not block the images/links on the FPA?

2 - true

3 - true, but a lot of places are also offering to give you your traffi back anyway - plus it's only traffic back if they leave the FPA

4 - if your domain has no PR, neither will your FPA - if your domain has PR then so will your FPA & every other page on your site.

5 - I'd think that tracking the referrers to the program would be better from the site instead of the FPA. If you get 4 sales from the FPA how do you know what page sent them to the FPA? If you have no FPA, you'd see referrers from the site(s) that sent the traffic.

I love you Tommy :D

One more thing, I don't care if you use a FPA or not, but I rarely use them.

Things that make you say "Hmmmm..."

Interesting.
